terrence.familySep 26, 2024 For the price, the room was very basic. On the plus side, there were heating pads for the beds and the staff friendly. The bathroom was small with an open window section for ventilation - which made it very cold (we were there in the late winter).

jasmin.partnerJul 22, 2024 No staff onsite which was fine, the room key was under the door mat. The room was tidy but had quite a few ants. The main downside is that you can hear the neighbouring rooms talking, using the microwave, watching tv etc. so wasn't the best sleep.
The best budget option in the area with all neccessaries.
Booked a stay during the middle of June for work. Room was decent overall but the lack of some soundproofing did hampen the evening. Will definitely return again.
melissa.partnerJun 02, 2024 Quick check in and check out with is great. Okay accommodation if on budget. Location was good. Close to Apollo Bay main street with all the restaurants. Room was spacious and heating was very good and quiet. Room was outdated, could use immediate improvements such as sealing of doors and windows to stop heating from escaping. There were obvious gaps in the front door and also in our bathroom window so we had to keep heater on. Investing in sealing these holes would save the motel in the long run. Also the drinking glasses were dirty as well with finger prints and smudges.
tracey.familyJun 02, 2024 The beds were very comfortable, and everything was extremely clean. The shower was fantastic with great pressure and heaps of hot water. For basic accommodation, it was far better than we were expecting. We would happily stay again.
Falsey advertised, a bit of a wall and sliding door added to a normal motel room doesn't make it a 2 bedroom unit.
sparrow t.family_with_childrenApr 16, 2024 Great option for a short stay. Easy parking and convenient access to The Otways, it was just what we needed on our road trip. There are no dining facilities, but Apollo Bay is just 5 mins drive and has plenty of options (check out Little Crumb Bakery for the best breakfast you have had in a long while!). Beds were comfortable and the room was warm, with plenty of hot water for showers. A fridge with freezer section was handy to keep the ice blocks frozen overnight for our chilly bin. We didn't use much else as we were up and out fairly early and back late in the evening. Would highly recommend this as a place to stay if you are visiting The Otways.
sheila.familyApr 01, 2024 This property was easy to find and the check in process was super smooth. This is a very short distance from Apollo Bay and a bit cheaper than properties in AB. It was perfect for our needs.
It's clean and the surrounding is quiet.
Girls in office were lovely. Overall our room was clean. Very disappointed in the shower condition. The shower base needs attention and under the shower screen where it meets the base in the corner was rotting and it appeared to be mouldy.

We loved Marengo, but not so much the Marengo hotel.
Needs updating - compared to what we’ve stayed in on our trip on the Great Ocean Road. Extremely thin walls and very noisy.
Good value, location good. Clean room.
Just one complaint, it would be nice if there was a sharp knife with the rest of the cutlery in room 3
