A Wonderful Option in the Middle of Everything
Hotel Catalonia Catedral is a great option for your stay in Barcelona, centrally located near many popular tourist sites, particularly in the Gothic Quarter. The hotel has a great vibe, tasteful decor, and the rooms are modern, clean, and very well appointed. We opted for the larger of the 2 room types with the private heated pool and enjoyed it, even in December (though I suspect it's even better in slightly warmer months - you could host 8-10 people with ease on your private patio.) The room itself is also massive and lovely, and the price we paid for all of this was tremendous value compared to other 4* and 5* hotels in the area. The staff were friendly and considerate, the person checking us in made a stellar lunch recommendation as our room wasn't ready (we landed early morning). I do have to mention two minor hiccups: our baggage was not brought up to our rooms after we arrived ... we had to go back downstairs after an hour to request it (because nowhere in the room could we find the front desk #, or the wi-fi password for that matter), and they also forgot to call our early morning cab to the airport. In both cases, the problem was quickly rectified - it's just these minor things are the difference between a 9.8 and a 10, you know? Regardless, I would absolutely go back to this hotel if we return to Barcelona, and give it a strong recommendation for you to consider it as well: you won't be disappointed!

Nice hotel with great location, one block from the Catedral in the awesome Gothic quarter. Our room was adequate. Service, from front desk to housekeeping to the bar/restaurant was outstanding.

Only thing that ruin the stay was we had told the staff the first morning that our soap and shampoo dispensers were empty or not working properly. We were bathing that evening, everything was still the same. Nothing had been done!

Only issue we had was that the Internet was extremely slow, it was difficult to work during our stay.
The hotel is very well located. The front desk staff very hepful and efficient. The rooms are very nice, clean and well kept.

Lovely hotel located in the old town but also walking distance to a lot of sights. We had a room on 4th floor facing an internal courtyard and there was no noise whatsoever. Nice and quiet. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We would stay here again when in Barcelona.
