Galle Face Hotel Colombo

I visited the galle face Galle Face Hotel Colombo for one night and to say the least, the experience was top-notch while maintaining the old school charm. I was greeted with warmth and assisted throughout the check-in process. Guests were also served refreshing welcome drinks. Mr Siddique and mr Vasantha made my stay even more memorable by surprising me with an upgrade to a junior suite. For someone visiting sri Lanka for the first time that too alone, getting an upgrade to a room that has a panoramic view of the ocean as well as the Galle Face Hotel Colombo was the best welcome gift ever. Words couldn't define how beautifully the room was designed! from tall ceilings to wooden flooring, ocean view from the bed and bathroom, the room took me years back to a time when esteemed writers/actors/ministers would visit the Galle Face Hotel Colombo for a break and inspirations. One could not only hear the waves crashing against the shore but also experience the rich history of distinguished guests who had stayed in this beautiful property. The breakfast was nice though their could be a little more variety. Apart from the room the other two high points was enjoying my luncheon at the veranda h and sipping through a fine prosecco at the travelers bar. Also being able to see the prince phillip's car was an added bonus. All through the staff was extremely attentive and the service was fantastic. Mr siddique and mr wasantha on an overall level ensured that i have a wonderful and memorable stay at the galle face Galle Face Hotel Colombo. The little things that matter- while checking out one of the staff member also booked me a pick me up car to my next destination as i didn't have the app. To anyone travel-ling to this Galle Face Hotel Colombo, i would just say, visit this place for not just their hospitality but for an experience that's defines sri lanka's culture, vibe and history to an extent. Absolutely delightful!

Privileged to have stayed in such an iconic sri lanka heritage property ! very welcoming staff, beautiful property! rooms are so spacious and well maintained ! the grounds facing the indian ocean are breathtaking! we enjoyed the tour of the history of the Galle Face Hotel Colombo by the lovely mr siddique and got to witness the bagpipes ceremony in the evening ! breakfast buffet is sumptuous and has so many choices ! we enjoyed both the continental and the sri lanka breakfasts ! looking forward to staying here again on our next visit

Even though I was told that the Galle Face Hotel Colombo was recently renovated, and the public areas in the Galle Face Hotel Colombo did look like it was new, however, the room was quite dated. Otherwise, the food was good, the service was also good, the location was excellent, right at the ocean front and very relaxing atmosphere. It would have been good to have some more restaurant options for lunch. Visited in February for a short 2 day trip. Would love to come back.

This is a historical Galle Face Hotel Colombo, quaint and i'm sure very difficult to maintain, so be prepared for some of the issues that you may face with an aging property. Also, though t he staff is very friendly it's not very efficient, but they do try their best to please. It's the best location in colombo and it has two awesomely located bars and a lovely verandah restaurant. All in all it's the perfect Galle Face Hotel Colombo for a memorable stay in colombo.

Clean comfortable rooms. Excellent ocean view from front dining area. Friendly, cheerful and helpful staff. Room has a safe locker for safe keeping of your valuables. Royalty, film stars/musicians, international athletes, world renowned political figures have all stayed here for over a century. Great place with a great history. Would definitely recommend staying at the Galle Face Hotel.

A Grand Hotel with great service. They have a Musium showing past guests like Che, david lean, gregory pack, donald Bradman, sir arthur conan doyle and so on. They serve with smile. An excellent breakfast spread, beautiful location. The room allotted to me was not Sea or garden facing. There was a small issue with wifi facility. But still a lovely place to be there.

Terrific Galle Face Hotel Colombo .. No wonder the who list is a long one in terms of people who have stayed. Stunning view of the ocean ( do take a sea facing room .. Completely worth it). The lazy breakfast and tea facing the Ocean is to die for. Very well located for other top attractions - fort, dutch hospital ( try the ministry of crab), noretake outlet, etc.

I would love to come again and again because of staff and specially gm mr. Siddhi is very humbled i must say people appreciate him and love him because he is too good and kind also very down to earth. His staff love him because he takes care of everyone and his behaviour is so good that i can’t explain in words. Bless you sir

I booked a room using MMT and made advance payment. At the time of check-in, the Galle Face Hotel Colombo asked to share credit card details which I felt unnecessary and therefore I didn't do. I feel the Galle Face Hotel Colombo doesn't believe the customers that they will settle the bills at the time of check-out.

Hotel for the value you pay. I was there for a day and loved the sea side restaurant and the great infrastructure they have maintained with the old charm still intact. The food was bit pricy, however its okay when you compare it with number of meals you eat there. They could make the breakfast as complimentary.

The Galle Face Hotel Colombo is centrally located and a heritage property but with all modern amenities. The rooms are well appointed and the view from the balcony overlooks the Indian ocean. The breakfast spread is just to die for and this Galle Face Hotel Colombo has a salt water pool which is quite unique.

Amazing location and a beautiful property. They have restored the old, colonial charm of the place, which makes it stand out. About the rooms - we stayed in the superior room and found it a bit too small, however it had a spacious bathroom! Staff is friendly and courteous. On the whole, had a pleasant stay!

The location is fantastic. Possibly because it's one of the oldest Galle Face Hotel Colombos, even higher end properties in Colombo don't have the same kind of Beach access this one does.

Gale Face Hotel very unique Built, great location and Awesome sea sunset city views, clear just junior suites best breakfast spread fresh fruits juice food served viz fish appam cold dishes cheese .. Oishi me Will visit family soon

The Galle Face Hotel Colombo is one of the oldest Galle Face Hotel Colombo in Sri Lanka. Gives you feeling of old coloney times. Nice place to stay. Near to Galle Face beach.

Very good, stay only two night's it's very short Next time with friends and plan to stay.

It is british era Hotel, well maintained with traditional architecture. Breezy winds and strong waves are the order of the day and the night. Loved my stay especially the variety of fruits they had for breakfast.

The charming old building has been well restored and maintained. The food options are limited but the taste and quality is impressive.

Excellent sea facing room. Once the staff warms up to your presence they are efficient. Was Keen to see the library but could not this time around due to time constraints. The is well maintained and one enjoys the slice of history.

It was a great value for money. It was a very regal kind of setting. The only one issue is if you are a vegetarian there is not enough choices in food. But then that’s the case everywhere. We had a great time there.

Great Galle Face Hotel Colombo. Check-in and check out was smooth and hassle free. The sea facing rooms are wonderful. Very neat rooms. Swimming pool is nice. Breakfast is very good and sitting outside in open area with sea view is an add on. Staff of the Galle Face Hotel Colombo is courteous.

Undoubtedly the best location in entire Colombo... Good service and courteous staff.. Only drawback no Indian food available but nearby restaurants make up for it. Adjacent to Galle Face Greens and opposite Taj Samudra nor far from major attractions in Colombo.

The location of the Galle Face Hotel Colombo is perfect! The staff is is helpful and prompt. The pool is stunning 😊

Reels like you are staying in home away from home. Staff is very generous and helpful. Food needs to improved.
