avoid phi phi banyan villa – worst hotel experience in thailand our two-night stay at phi phi banyan villa was an absolute nightmare. despite being the most expensive hotel of our trip, it offered nothing but disappointment and frustration. here’s why you should avoid this place at all costs: 1. rock-hard beds – utter disregard for guest comfort: the main bed was as hard as a rock, making it impossible to get a good night’s sleep. to make matters worse, the extra bed they provided for our child was nothing but a flimsy floor mattress—also rock-hard when we complained and asked for a replacement, the staff arrogantly told us, “this is what we have.” zero concern for guest comfort. 2. disgusting breakfast and horrible coffee: the breakfast was atrocious and borderline inedible. the coffee was an insult to the word “coffee”—it was undrinkable, the worst we’ve ever tasted. we ended up buying coffee from a nearby 7-11 every morning because even convenience store coffee was leagues better than what this hotel served. 3. no beach access: none of the rooms in this hotel have direct beach access. the property is across the road from the beach, and you must cross it to even get there. 4. constant noise – zero soundproofing: the rooms are poorly built with absolutely no sound insulation. we were subjected to constant noise throughout the night, making it impossible to sleep. if you value peace and quiet, forget about it here. 5. rude and arrogant staff – no respect for guests: the front desk staff were outright rude and unprofessional. at checkout, they made us wait unnecessarily while they “checked the room,” as if accusing us of stealing. this was insulting and ridiculous. their attitude was condescending and dismissive throughout our stay. 6. no assistance – you’re on your own: despite informing the front desk 30 minutes in advance that we needed help with our luggage to the pier, no one bothered to assist us. we were left to struggle on our own, carrying heavy luggage, and nearly missed our speedboat. the staff clearly don’t care about their guests or their experience. conclusion: this was hands down the worst hotel we’ve ever stayed at—not just in thailand, but anywhere. every aspect of the stay was a disaster: hard beds, terrible food, constant noise, rude staff, and zero professionalism. for the exorbitant price, this hotel delivers nothing but disappointment. do yourself a favor: avoid phi phi banyan villa at all costs and find a better place to stay

Receptionist was too harsh, and rude. At night when i asked extra water, told me get from outside, we provide only 2 bottles. At checkout time, she argued that you guys have stolen the sleepers though there were no sleepers at all. Breakfast was average, same menu every day. Dont book this hotel ever.

Would recommend not to book this property!

The staff was extremely rude. The ac could not be switched off, they had to change our room. The service was not that great. Just an ok property.

Most of the hotel in phi phi lack hygiene, a lot of mosquitoes. Average stay. Phi phi needs a good hotel.

The hotel is located at a 2 min walk from the main pier. The rooms are well maintained, however, the washrooms are very basic and dated. The pool is also good but misses the bar for drinks by the pool.

Rude staff. Made us wait after check out to check room. It was a bit discriminatory. Location is good, walkable from ton sai pier. Room lighting is low.

Everything was as expected. Decent hotel near the pier and they have a couple of nice restaurants opposite the area where the rooms are. Complementary breakfast was good with a decent spread. The front desk and the rest of the staff members were courteous. Rooms were slightly smaller than, but it was good enough for two people. Really liked the attached balcony or the garden area. It gave me the staying in the woods vibe due to its wooden interiors, which personally like. Overall a good hotel to choose.

The location of the resort is the best. Just a minute walk from the pier. We arrived earlier than the check in time and the receptionist arranged one of our 3 rooms within 10 mins so that we could freshen up. Our rooms were with a pool view and on the ground floor. The rooms were of decent size and the pool, though tiny, looks very pretty as it is surrounded by greenery. The food was average but the service was good.

Right at tonsai pier. Very close if you want to grab boats etc. But because on pier, the beach is crowded here compared to long beach. Overall stay was comfortable, pool is very nice. Walkable to eateries and everything needed. Breakfast was average.

Very well maintained property with nice gym and pool. Service and cleanliness is top notch. It is on the other side of the party zone, so you don't hear any unwanted noise at midnight. They have their own sea side restaurant as well. Overall, i loved my 3 day stay here!

Beautiful resort with amazing landscaping. It is located just at the beach. Rooms are average and are made of wooden hence ac takes ages to cool the room and is of no use in afternoon bcaz wood absorbs the heat. So please be prepared for warm-hot room untill sunset. Hotel doesn’t provide dental kit and hair conditioner so please carry your own. The party hub is at walking distance and hotel is at peaceful location. No option for vegetarian in breakfast, we survived on cornflakes but you will find indian/veg restrictions near by. Overall average to good stay.

Nothing over the top a basic resort with all necessary facilities & well located with a moderate breakfast! stayed for 3 nights though no complaints. If looking for a casual stay, go ahead. Mind you: staff can be rude while checkout )

Rooms good, service okay, location of the restaurant and food quality is excellent. Restaurant is just on the beautiful beach overlooking the green turquoise water.
