20 min walk to Canterbury centre
Our room was clean, the staff were friendly. No parking space when we arrived. No gluten free breakfast cereal or toast. Decor was plain and a bit shabby. No lift. Pool was bit cold.
We liked it but 1st night and all the next day untill 630 pm we had no heating reported it at 9am took constant times of asking by my husband then was given a hot air blower that was fine soon warmed up
Everything was great , only problem was the pool was cold and there was no toilet roll holder on the wall , the room was clean , and tidy , maybe put a small table next to the chair
This is an old building, which is walkable into town centre where there are lots of places to eat. The car park for the venue is free but small (about 10 parking places), not suitable for large vehicles (vans, etc). My room was on the first floor, really large room and large ensuite. The decor was tired, bed was comfortable, desk to work at, but no chair for desk. Wifi was average. Included breakfast was a choice of hot and cold, starts at 0730.
Traveling back from France. It was a spontaneous decision due to traffic issues. The hotel staff who greeted us named Sam was lovely. Very welcoming and friendly A** for customer services. Nice hotel needs updating in areas but overall ok. I had a good night's sleep and breakfast was decent as well. Will probably stay here again.

david.partnerSep 17, 2024 Good hotel within 15 min walk to Cathedral. The area of Wincheap was very run down without great disabled access (ie lack of dropped curbs). Also hotel doesn’t have a lift. Nice pool but a shame the water temp was so low! Room was great and very clean.
simon.partnerSep 16, 2024 The hotel is a Georgian/Victorian building that suffered theft and damage while closed during covid. A huge amount of work has brought it up to a good standard. The staff are great, provide excellent service and the breakfast is good with plenty of choice. The hot dishes are fresh and the scrambled eggs excellent. There is a swimming pool which we didn't get to use due to lack of time. Our only issue was noise between rooms which was not speech or tv so much as footsteps which sounded like someone was walking in our room! It didn't keep us from sleeping but was a bit disconcerting at first. If not for this I would have rated excellent. Having heard what happened and seen how much work has gone into getting the hotel back into operation, I am sure this too will be sorted out.
Friendly service, lovely room
An exceptional, family run hotel perfectly situated for exploring Canterbury on foot. A very warm welcome with tips and advice on the City. Superb breakfast included. On site parking. I couldn’t fault anything.

Our stay was great.
Very comfortable bed, clean bathroom, excellent breakfast. The hotel is close to the city centre and we could do everything on foot.

sze w.partnerAug 21, 2024 My room was on the ground floor. It was unsafe to open the window at night which was facing the carpark. However it was necessary to open the window at night as there was no ventilation in the room. The room was dated as well.
Breakfast was fabulous. The guy working the front desk was helpful and courteous. The bathrooms had no hooks to hang items and nothing to hold onto when getting into a very slippery tub. They never cleaned out room. The parking area was horrific as extremely limited and small. We had to find a place on the street. They recommended we park at a place 1/4 mile away. I wouldn't ever recommend this place.
Room was large, spacious and comfortable. Although in the original part of the building and facing onto a busy main road which at times was quite noisy the room had secondary glazing to at least cut out some of the noise. This made the room quite warm and with no air con the addition of a fan would be welcome... or take one like i did. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the bufffet breakfast had everything you could want. Parking is a bit of an issue with not enough spaces for the rooms and the staff using the spaces cuts the numbers down even more. There is some road parking nearby or even a small payable car park. The addition of a small but fairly shallow pool was very welcome along with a lovely compact garden area to sit in. There is also a treatment room in the building run by a lovely knowledgeable lady and offers a variety of treatments. I opted for a massage which i must say was excellent. This facilility is a great addition to the premises.
Very nice hotel, but limited parking.
Excellent small hotel with very friendly staff and nice breakfast. Only downside was the limited parking available. The staff did make sure everyone was happy, but there was only around 10 parking spaces, but they were free unlike other hotels. Would definitely stay here again.
kateryn.partnerJul 28, 2024 Heated swimming pool and English breakfast available. The car park is not great for big cars. The room had mould in the bathroom and there was hair when we checked-in. Very close to the town centre.
