Beware - I booked through Expedia but will not do that again as when couldn’t get a flight in time for the first day, and I tried to change the booking to arrive the second day of my week long stay, it cancelled the whole booking and re-booked at a much higher rate. So I called the B&B to try to make the change but they cannot do this. They saved my room for me but I had to pay for the night I wasn’t there. Annoying.
I had a room overlooking the plaza. It’s very noisy with buskers and their sound equipment, for the most part playing music they think Americans would like. Also the volume of diners talking in the street just below, made me want to close the windows much of the time, it was like being at a loud party where you knew no one. It was a great view, so definitely a trade off
Monica, who seems to do everything there, was friendly and helpful, but her time there is erratic.

Clean and spacious room at the hart of Lucca. Big shower and fridge in the room. Balcony view is stunning.

kristine.familyOct 08, 2022 Fabulous location. Clean and secure. Cute and authentic old building with character and charm. We had two rooms and each was different. My only criticism is we needed a fan in the room, in between season for AC or heat and was a bit stuffy to sleep. But hostess was friendly and the location can’t be beat. Breakfast included at nice little restaurant across the street.
julia.partnerJul 24, 2022 Location is great. Room was a bit tight but very comfortable bed. A mirror in the bedroom would be great because no aircon in barhroom so very hot for drying hair. Overall great value for money. And thank you for coming out at 11pm to fix the aircon!

Monica, the innkeeper went above & beyond to assist me, while my husband was unfortunately in the nearby hospital. She called taxis & even once came herself to pick me up. She also showed caring & concern which was much appreciated at a trying time.
There were no staff our guests. For two days we saw nobody. No one to ask anything

Very clean and comfortable room with a beautiful view of Riomaggiore in the Cinque Terra. Quite a long walk uphill from the train station. Ask about elevator from the church.

Great location in the old Roman Coliseum - the building is built into some of the walls. Hosts were very welcoming. Breakfast was great - delicious bread and jam, fresh fruit, and lots of other choices that I ignored because I LOVE bread and jam in the morning!

Everything was perfect!! Friendly owner Alex picked us up from the airport for a reasonable price. Livia who runs the B & B was lovely. Location unbeatable, rooms amazing, spotlessly clean, lovely breakfast too. Like a home from home. We can't wait to return!!!

Wonderful Hotel in a Remarkable Location
This small family run hotel is integrated into an old Roman arena. The reality of it far exceeded my expectations. We loved it. Alex graciously spent time answering our questions about the area and the hotel that was & is a home of his family's. Fascinating. It was easy to sit with the window open watching and listening to the activity in the arena. Our room had good windows and shutters to muffle the noise at night. Perhaps if someone is noise sensitive, ear plugs at night might be wise for some evenings. We enjoyed it. Our room was big, very clean and attractive. Alex gave great sight- seeing and eating recommendations to places that were close by. The instructions provided by the hotel, for driving to the Lucca parking lot outside the old walled town and then walking to the hotel inside the town walls, were very useful.
The location was perfect. The room we stayed in was very spacious with a large bathroom. Breakfast was great (the coffee was excellent). Livia and Alex were friendly and helpful hosts. We couldn’t have been happier with the B&B Arena di Lucca.
