GOOD HOTEL, RUDE MANAGEMENT
Excellent location near Mestre station (just one stop by train to Santa Lucia), clean and comfortable room, and good value for money. The sink, the TV, and the AC in the single room come in very handy. The owner, however, is a grumpy guy who won't hesitate to swear and yell at you at the flimsiest excuse (yes, really!).
Service was great, easy check in.
Quick 10min bus to venice.
No WiFi in room !!! Really needs updating , especially the bedroom , not practical at all ... bathrooms were decent but if you want to make food , forget about it !!! I would not stay again, it’s a budget accommodation , end of story !!!!
Friendly hosts, clicky group...
The carpet is dirty. The place is noisy at night and early in the morning as other guests talk very loudly in the common room. You cannot have a good sleep. The evening male staff is rude and unfriendly. Other staff is good. The exit from the train station towards the hotel is dangerous at night. You do not want to spoilt your holiday by staying here.
Unsure if you can do Venice on a budget? Yes you can. Very basic and dated but very clean hotel, our room was spacious, excellent bed and private bedroom. Free parking and 15 mins to Venice by foot and then train at €1.30 each way!
It is a 1 star hotel, based I’m sure on lack of extras, however, clean bedding, towels and shower gel all we needed for our 1 night stay.

I luckily had a room that had its' own bathroom and shower but many of the other rooms had to use the shared bathroom areas. And the wifi only worked in the common areas for me.

Good clean stay at budget price
Hotel is within walking distance to venice mestre so from airport you can catch bus for 8Euros to mestre station and walk to hotel. The receptionist is great and handles everything in hostel nicely. It is near bus stop which takes you to venice in like 20 mins. You can get tickets from hostel - i bought venice all day pass and that gave me access to bus and all group boats in venice.
Fundamentally it is good place if you want roof on your head for budget price. I booked single room for 2 nights and paid 90euros on new years eve. Hostel is clean, bathroom is cold but clean and you feel safe enough walking from bus stop to hotel so good stay for money I paid. Found them reliable because of person in charge of hostel who was in control of everything. Paid at hotel in cash as that was preferred but also had option to pay by card.

Fair hostel, COLD common areas
This hostel was nice with friendly staff and a clean room. The entire hostel is FREEZING. It feels like they do not heat it at all. Although, they have heating that can be controlled by you in your room so I had the room nice and toasty within 30 minutes. It was still annoying to walk down the freezing hallway to the bathroom.

Just about the most comfortable shower experience I've had in a hostel/hotel. Gocce at the front desk is super friendly, helpful, and accommodating. He'll tell you everything you'll need to know about getting to/around the island of Venice. The neighborhood can feel a bit unsafe in the dark, but the bus stop is only a 5 minute walk away. Train station 10 mins.
Interesting city stopover
Although it requires a little extra effort to find the apartment, I was immediately greeted on arrival and the receptionist was very friendly, with very good communication in English. My room was clean and very comfortable. I found the shared facilities more than adequate, with nice and functional kitchen on site as well.
I definitely will never stay there again!
Budget Hostel, Gets the Job Done
Staff is friendly, and the hostel definitely attracts a younger crowd. Beds and bathrooms are rudimentary but clean and comfortable for the price. There's no real kitchen or utensils to cook foods, only a refrigerator and two vending machines. It's a fifteen minute bus ride to 'Venice.' It's a super close 8 minute walk to the train station. When you exit the train station to go to the hostel, make sure you exit on the Southern side, which is not the main entrance to the train station but the backside. It's a short walk from there.
It was good for the money
The location is perfect. Easy to get to from Mestre station.

There is LiDL grocery at about 200meters where one can buy all kinds of food supplies very cheap. Wine bottle 3euro. A beer for 50cents eruro.
Its 10 times better to take a hotel in Mestre, than a hotel in the middle of Venice because it is very easy to get lost in Venice.
I chose Nuova Locanda Belvedere as it was close to Mestre station and it was really good price. In only booked it week before my holiday, read the reviews which got me a bit worried but still decided to give it a go and I can honestly say, it was absolutely fine. Girl at reception desk was very helpful, room was ok, exactly what you would expect from a budget hotel. They have their little vending machines for coffee and snacks which for me were life savers.
They do accept cards and even though the machine didn't work when I arrived at the hotel, the staff were fine for me to pay the next morning.
The only thing that I could have done without is the noise. Nothing that could have been helped by hotel staff in any way. Some people think kick opening toilet door is acceptable.
Bathrooms even though shared, were clean.
I can honestly say, if you just need a roof over your head, somewhere close to public transport and don't mind shared bathrooms, Nuova Locanda Belvedere is your place to stay.
When exiting Mestro train station, head to the south end of underground tunnel (opposite end from ticket office/cafes and main entrance). The hotel is 5 min walk through mosquito infested suburbs from there.
The hotel is also partially a 'hostel' type facility. Has common rooms and shared bathrooms. While a bit older, the rooms were big enough and were clean. For the price, it was acceptable and we didn't have high expectations.
