Disappointing Stay at Hotel Mariem: Lack of Amenities, Restrictive Policies, and Unpleasant Staff Experience
My recent stay at Hotel Mariem was marred by various disappointments, ranging from the absence of basic amenities to encountering rude and unpleasant staff members.
The lack of essential amenities such as a kettle, iron, and slippers, both in-room and available upon request, significantly detracted from the overall comfort of the stay. Additionally, the hotel's restrictive policy prohibiting outside food and drinks left guests with limited dining options and a sense of frustration.
Adding to the dissatisfaction was the demeanor of the staff members, who were described as rude and unpleasant to interact with. This negative interaction further compounded the already disappointing experience, making the stay at Hotel Mariem less than enjoyable.
Despite potential improvements in accommodation quality, the lack of essential amenities and the presence of unfriendly staff members overshadow any positive aspects of Hotel Mariem. Prospective guests should consider these factors before booking their stay at this establishment.
Property was good and serviced and attention were excellent very humble and great people !!!
Too expensive for its price
Lovely stay. Breakfast was delicious, staff were all friendly and helpful (arranged a guided tour). Room was clean. Overall comfortable stay.
The hotel facility is nice but needs upgrading. The night staff did not have access to a computer to verify the online booking.
There was a water pressure problem in the room. The bathroom sink only had a trickle of water. The shower pressure went and up and down all the time.
The bed sheets were old and stained. They were cleaned but old, overused and stained. The mattress however, was comfortable to sleep on.
Comfortable hotel close to train station
Steps from the train station and everything was comfortable. Bed was good.. Shower was good.. Internet was stellar.. Overall great
verified t.familyNov 01, 2019 I was very happy with everything from the friendly staff to the welcoming warm atmosphere. Food was beyond this world having a wide range of choices to choose from. The rooms and hotel itself was exceptionally clean and i couldnt have asked for a better stay. I would also like to give a huge thank you to the wonderful receptionist jamila who has made my stay a pleasure.
Seemed really nice at first (pools, hair dryer, etc), but then you start looking around and realize half the lights don’t work, there is only one outlet 6 feet up, the tub doesn’t drain and one of your windows don’t lock. We called the front desk and told them about the shower not draining. They said they would send someone, but they never did. Then we told them in person, they said someone would look at it, but I still ended up taking a shower in 6” of standing water.
fine for a quick stop over
Good location if you are wanting to be out of the main centre. A bit tired and shappby especially the rooms, with most of our group complaining they had a strong sewerage smell (although most of Morrocco does to be honest). Good reception and breakfast and pool is a nice addition although pool person didn't appear keen to let guests have sun longers. Wouldn't want to spend more than one or 2 nights here but would probably say that about most places in Marrakesh.
This is the worst Hotel I have ever stayed in. The rooms are very dark and uncomfortable and a real bad smell from the sewage. The AC also didn’t work. The charging sockets were loose and dangerous and had to kick them for the to work.The breakfast was also really bad.
Good location close to many nice restaurants and inexpensive food stands that were very clean and friendly. A similar hotel in USA would cost 3 times as much so a great value. Free breakfast was omelets to order, pancakes, many fruits, many fresh pastries, fresh squeezed orange juice, several fresh salads and more. Air conditioning worked great and beds were comfy. It’s a great break from staying in a Riad where air conditioning is extremely limited or non existent and beds are beautiful but old and lumpy. Most people are happy with one or two nights in a Riad then prefer a hotel for the duration.
Easy walking distance to a lot of places such as local restaurants, small shops, money exchange, and market. Rooms are basic and clean. The bell man was very helpful in getting a group of us a taxi. Not exactly in the center but easily walkable to Djemaa El Fna. Train station is nearby. Thank you.

Brillent staff lovely hotel near shops food only the breakfast was not good
The room is very, their is an ac conditioning in a while but in few hours dont work again. The door did not work, the lift is not working all over our stay. The other staff are nice and others are nice. The breakfast is the same everyday which not good. Not good to stay in this hotel
Is 3* hotel... Dont expect too much... Is basic... 20or30 dh to Medina
Good location in new town near the train station (not near the medina), WiFi does not work well and shower is not reliable.
I have been flying all over and I stay at 4 stars hotel and I know what is the service I should get ,at this hotel I had bed service and I was gonna check out earlier because of the respect of there services
Reasonable place to stay.
Reasonably comfortable though breakfast is of poor quality. Hotel is quite central to most places to visit.
The room we stayed in had a separate bathroom and toilet. Toilet had no handwashing facility which was not nice.
A large hotel with nice pools and a small fitness room. A lot of staff there but many just standing around as it was quite empty. Breakfast was terrible.
