Disappointed by taj hotel

Old property and staff were not well trained as expected in taj. Their suggestions for dinning out was horrible. We had a plan to have dinner out side hotel and last minutes we had consulted concierge and what they had recommended we had gone but it was very bad choice our safety were risk as the restaurant was at the end or port city it was the only restaurant, the road which reach to restaurants was broken there were no transport we got from the restaurant to hotel. Restaurant people were very rude

Stayed here for night with family. It was a very short stay but pretty comfortable and relaxing. The checkin and check out process needs a bit of improvement but overall great hotel located right in front of the ocean and close to a lot of good shopping places and landmarks.

Business and leisure travel. Karan and team was great to host us and food was great (maybe i wanted indian taste in indian food)

Extremely happy with the overall experience. Ambience is fantastic as i had an ocean view room, with delicious buffet, very nice staff, value for money. Totally worth it

Everything was great. It is located at a very nice location with courteous staff and great breakfast buffet. Since it’s a old property, rooms can feel a little small and old styled

Overall it was good but certainly room for improvement. The staff was friendly. The sea-facing rooms have a fantastic view! the breakfast was brilliant. But the upkeep needs work. The carpets in the room corridors were dusty and old. Hotel is a bit dated now.

Location is pretty near to all the attractions of colombo in a posh locality. No nearby cheap places to eat
food served for in room dining was good in taste, good in sabji amount but roti was less. Also attracts 30% tax plus service charge. Amenities and services were wonderful as always for taj. Have stayed multiple times with them and will surely stay more.

We stayed for four nights, location is best you can get, all places nearby, ocean view room was fabulous, staff as always very courteous & helpful, food is okay, but you get all indian like north indian also of decent quality.

I enjoyed my stay at taj. Location was just perfect being in front of the ocean. Staff was courteous and very helpful. When i faced a small issue with my room, they shifted me to a better one. The captain, the bell boy, travel desk, guards everyone made me special and like home. Breakfast was good with reasonable indian options. But again all the managers were serving you themselves in the peak hours. Though the breakfast ends at 10. 30 but even if you are late, they will accommodate you. Overall one must stay in taj.
