The hotel were hosting events. This meant a lot of things were unavailable, including drinks and menu choices. Much longer waits for services (20mins to make a tea at the cafe/bar area!). We were not made aware of this before our stay. There was also no lift to the floor our room was on, so be aware if you do have mobility issues or problems carrying things you’ll struggle in certain rooms. Breakfast was drying out as it had been left to sit under the hot plates. The staff were friendly.
Easy check- in, room was spotless, breakfast was nice and early and was excellent.

Lovely stay overnight. Clean hotel, very nice dog friendly room. Ate dinner and breakfast in the on site restaurant, and both were very good. Staff incredibly helpful and welcoming. Would recommend and visit again.
Staff were lovely and happy to help with anything you needed. Smell of the hotel when arriving (and throughout) was impeccable and gave a fresh feeling to it, booked family rooms and the size of the room was perfect

Chose hotel as appeared in images to be better than the cheaper chains around the city centre. Sadly, it is very basic - beds a little firm, but ok. Everything else functional at best, Lots of white rough white paint on industrial like doors. Virtually no pressure in bath/shower. Very thin walls (we had a lady throwing up next door at 2am). Spa is a disgrace. They are apparently re doing ladies and mens changing but it should never be in the state it is with men in one of two 'treatment' rooms with a couple of chairs to change. Pool would be fine, but again, all white and industrial with aged tiled flooring from the 70s / 80s. Breakfast was shocking (cardboard over cooked bacon, the thinnest, cheapest, powdering sausages with no actual meet in, scrambled egg swimming in yellow oil, coffee from a machine that tasted very bitter). I will say that day 2 I had an omelette made to order which the chef did a fairly good job of - he saved breakfast. I don't think it is the chef or serving staff fault - it is the choice of the hotel that sells rooms for £120 a night to serve food at a quality that the average little chef or truck cafe wouldn't even consider. On the positive side, the staff in the restaurant and on reception in the main were friendly, well presented and did all they could. Holiday Inn used to be a Hilton class hotel - not great, but predictable. This is the second time I made this mistake - the first was a couple of years ago at the Holiday Inn in Guildford :-(

The room is spacious, very clean, the toiletries are good, large flat TV, climate control, SPA complex with complimentary access, amazing breakfast, very nice staff. Awesome place. Highly recommend!
Amazing stay & amazing staff
This was my first hotel stay with my son and two dogs and I was very apprehensive. I really didn’t need to be. The staff were attentive as soon as I walked in and made a fuss of my little boy and the dogs. They made sure I had all the special requests I asked for and offered extra help if needed. The room was amazing - super king bed, massive TV, good WiFi and spotlessly clean. We had an amazing stay and will be back again for sure. Thank you for making our stay so easy and enjoyable! Please praise your staff and make it known how much their kindness meant!
Very friendly staff on arrival and throughout our stay ….room was spotless as was the public areas of the hotel …..it’s just a shame that other residents staying in rooms nearby didn’t respect others at 3am in the morning when they returned quite drunk from their night out !!! I would suggest a Polite notice asking folks to Respect other residents when they return after certain hours !!!?????
Otherwise we enjoyed out stay !!!!!!

Two night stay in accessible room with breakfast paid for. Hotel reception staff were helpful and the service staff at bar and restaurant areas were friendly and helpful.
Breakfast had a good choice and the buffet was clean and food presented well. We had two evening meals in the bar area and they were both very satisfactory. We didn’t use the pool facilities but how nice to have them available to use.
We would use this hotel again.

Nice, clean place but the bedrooms are incredibly warm and the air con is restricted to 19 degrees and only stays on intermittently.
I found the pillows very uncomfortable but there was a sign in the room suggesting that they offered a variety of pillows to suit individual need. However, when I asked at reception, i was told they weren't sure what was available and would have to check and get back to me. After id not heard back after 45 minutes, i tried to call reception twice and it just rang out for 3/4 minutes on both occasions. I was so tired at that point, I gave up but had 3 nights poor sleep.
Two of my colleagues reported similarly negative experiences, a real shame as we have lots of local stays planned over the coming months.
I couldn’t get the subtitles on the tv to work in the early Evenin I like to take my hearing aids out and give my ears a rest and watch tv with subtitles but I couldnt

The hotel was very well located. The rooms were spacious enough and we had a very comfortable bed.
Breakfast was great with extremely helpful staff. They went out of their way to chat to you and made the stay even better. I’d highly recommend a stay here and would definitely revisit whenever we return to the area.
