We arrived to a completely empty car park (space for around 100 cars), and a deserted hotel, with the exception of one person at Reception. We had been warned by the hotel that the Leisure facilities were closed and the bar and restaurant would close, dependent on trade, but we didn't expect the restaurant to be closed at 6 in the evening! The sandwiches from the local petrol station were less than interesting. Otherwise, hotel decor and fittings are very dated, breakfast is ok, and the staff seem cheerful and engaged.
We stayed 2 nights while attending a family wedding. The hotel is old but very clean. It could do with an update in some areas especially the showers in the rooms. That said we had a warm comfortable stay and would stay again. The breakfast was fine could have been hotter but plenty choice. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The staff were great and attended to any request promptly. Another plus is that there is plenty parking and a lift if you find stairs difficult.

The property is old and tired shower cold no housekeeping nobody came to clean up cups or replenish tea bags. No towels replaced.or bed made . We found a pizza box with mouldy pizza inside must have been weeks old on top of wardrobe. Hairdryer dryer very old and kept cutting out. Generally awful would never stay stay again . We passed pizza to staff who didn’t really care. Key for lights very useless had to insert at least 3 times to get working .
We arrived late fterbour wedding reception. We were greeted by a lovely man who eas very helpful. The room was clean but basic. The net curtains were frayed and tatty. The heating had been cranked up so the room was stifling hot. The balcony view over the lake was beautiful. The buffet breakfast was very nice and all freshly cooked. Not sure I'd stay again but was comfortable.
