How to Reach the Property

Medhufushi Island Resort is located on Medhufushi island, and is one of the 2 resorts in Meemu Atoll. Secluded and away from inhabited islands, it offers a great base for enjoying a quiet beach holiday amidst nature's greatest treasures.

The property offers two types of transfers. Option 1: It offers speedboat transfers from Male International Airport. It is a 150-minute ride and costs USD 232 per adult and USD 116 per child.Option 2: It also offers seaplane transfers from Male International Airport. It is a 40-minute ride and costs USD 478 per adult and USD 300 per child.There is a dedicated Medhufushi lounge at the airport.The costs are for roundtrip/return transfers and inclusive of taxes.

Guests can dine at two restaurants, one of which offers Indian dishes, and an on-site bar.
Malaafaiy Restaurant - Set along the poolside, this restaurant offers ocean views along with delicacies from all over the world including Indian food. All meals are served buffet style and there are live cooking stations too.
Alfresco Restaurant - There is something for everyone at this overwater restaurant. Set on the pyramid-shaped pavilion, this lagoon-view restaurant has separate menus for vegetarians and honeymoon special dinners. Chef's Signature specials are available too.
Vilu Bar - Relax in the evenings with a cocktail and a game of billiards or darts. Traditional Maldivian ‘bodu beru’ drumming and crab racing is also held here.

For a marvellous experience, stay in Water Villas and enjoy direct access to the lagoon as well as stunning ocean views. Set overwater, each of these villas have floor-to-ceiling glass doors along one wall that can be fully opened to step onto the private sundeck.
Accessible only by boat, Lagoon Suites are stand-along overwater villas surrounded by vast expanses of ocean. Enjoy ocean views from every part of the villa.
While Beach Villas have outdoor rain showers, Water Villas have closed bathrooms with bathtubs. Lagoon Suites, on the other hand, have open-air rain showers and a sea-view Jacuzzi. Hairdryer, shaver sockets, shampoo and soap are available in all.

Traveller Impressions

Medhufushi Resort is a great place for couples and honeymooners. The property is well-maintained and the staff is excellent. The location is far from the airport, but it's worth the journey. The water villas have amazing access to marine life. The food is good, but Indian cuisine is limited. The resort offers free trips for snorkeling on the reef away from the island. However, the speed boat timings are odd and the transfer to water villas is a long walk. Some staff members were not friendly and the diving equipment store guy was rude.

Property was good, food was good less variety for indians specially vegetarian. Some staff members were extremely over welcoming but some were so blunt that you will be shocked how did this just happened, they were charging five USD/hundred ml of milk for the baby then we had to be rough on them to make it free or charge less, Resort don't even provide the basic washroom kit in your villa they charge heavy amount even for toothpaste, will recommend every one to opt full board otherwise you will end up spending huge amount of money on food as la carte. Carry your basic use items with you, one more thing which was shocking that at the restaurant we were told that only two glasses of water is complementary for the third one you have to pay charges. They very well know how to play with you as you don't have any other option because you are on isolate Island. We felt partial at time as the staff was very much interested in rendering there services to foreigners instead of indians, as I many times we noticed they ignored our calls and were attending the foreigners even without there call, it felt very bad

A perfect budget stay with a few desirables left out

We stayed in a water villa for a honeymoon. The room was clean, view was brilliant and the staff were very friendly. We could see lots of fishes and spotted some reef sharks too. We could go snorkeling just outside the villas. Though the buildings and the interiors were old, they looked clean for the most part. The food was great and had lots of variety. Moreover, there were some free trips organised by the resort for snorkeling on the reef away from the island. The down side includes the lack of first-aid kits. I tore the skin of my fingers using one of the doors, but despite multiple requests, the Medhufushi Island Resort Maldives did not provide bandaids. The life jackets in the rooms are there just for namesake. The dive center has been a disappointment. The staff were friendly, but not very cooperative as they lied to me about a room change request saying that it was under maintenance. But i saw a couple staying in there. Finally, i recommend this place if you're looking for a simple get away and are easily pleased with whatever you get.
