    A brilliant property with management that needs self-review

    I recently stayed at Maani Muscat Hotel, and overall, my experience was positive. The hotel rooms were brilliant – spacious, clean, and well-appointed. The staff were courteous and attentive, and I truly appreciated their efforts to promote Omani culture, which added a nice local touch to the experience. The breakfast was average, some dishes were good, the team took efforts to prepare something different (even though average food products). However, I did have a few issues with management decisions that left me puzzled. Even after complaining to the staff, they can only agree with my comments on management being very different from other operators, but have no control. For instance, they do not provide cutlery if guests order food from outside for free but is charged, which seemed a bit inconvenient. Additionally, small items like ice, salt, and pepper are also charged extra, which felt a bit odd and not typical for a hotel of this caliber. These policies detracted from what would otherwise have been a great stay. The hotel is a bit away from the city, but is alright if you have your own vehicle. The hotel has good steps towards being sustainable but using recyclable material in many portions possible. The hotel has a very good pool, steam and sauna. The spa looked good but unfortunately couldn’t book a session as it was booked. I would suggest the Hotel to have a small set up for vehicle cleaning as I noticed a lot of people drive in and would be helpful to have a shiny vehicle. In summary, while the hotel has a lot to offer in terms of comfort and service, these peculiar management decisions affected the overall experience.
