Ocean Edge Suites & Hotel Colombo

I was impressed with Ocean Edge for the price. The rooms are a little dated in some respects but quite large and with all the facilities you need. Kitchen facilities were good, with a large fridge, sink twin cooktop, microwave and tea/coffee makers. It was nice to be able to cook for myself while traveling. The addition of a sharp chopping and peeling knife would be good, but I made do fine with the utensils they supply. There were flat screen TVs in both the lounge and bedroom and there was also good ac in both areas. There were two balconies, one quite small but another with partial views to ocean and room to move chairs outside. The bathroom was compact but fairly modern, with a proper shower cubicle and good hot water. The apartment had a slightly musty smell on arrival, but it was very mild and disappeared once I open balcony door for a short time. I would definitely consider staying again, especially if I wanted to be able cook some basic meals for myself. One downside is that not all the listed drinks and snacks for bar fridge were in there when I arrived and I had to explain this when asked on checkout. This was very minor though and I found both the reception and housekeeping staff to be very helpful and professional.

Room was very spacious and excellent. The staffs are very helpful. The food and swimming pool was great. View to the beach from the room is astonishing. All great and must go places are within 15 minutes radius. Nice clean and proper utensils provided. Uber is very accessible to this Ocean Edge Suites & Hotel Colombo. The lifts are very disappointing since the censor was not working and we felt scared to get into the lift each time. The air-conditioner in our room was not throwing proper flow. However the centralized air-conditioner in the hall was good. Overall everything was amazing.
The air-conditioner in the bedroom was not good. The air flow was really low and we in fact had a suffocation. But the centralized one in the hall was extremely good. We actually thought of shifting our bed to the hall, just because of this reason. Otherwise everything was great.

A lovely Ocean Edge Suites & Hotel Colombo with truly magnificent views over the ocean. The Ocean Edge Suites & Hotel Colombo suite had everything needed for a family or group who wished to do self catering, however the Ocean Edge Suites & Hotel Colombo also had an excellent restaurant. The Ocean Edge Suites & Hotel Colombo was clean and well maintained and the staff very helpful. The only negative aspect of the Ocean Edge Suites & Hotel Colombo was that although it as it says positioned at the edge of the ocean with fantastic views there is no real access to the limited beach opposite the Ocean Edge Suites & Hotel Colombo as across the road there is railway line and very large rocks at the ocean edge; only the very fit could climb over them. But there are great beaches just a short ride away. Our favorite was Sugar Beach.

We were four of us, my wife and two children. We booked what is called an Ocean Deluxe Suite. The experience was fabulous. The Ocean Edge Suites & Hotel Colombo itself is very close to the ocean compared to other Ocean Edge Suites & Hotel Colombos like Hilton and Taj Samudra. There is a long balcony overlooking the ocean and this balcony is accessible both from the living room and bed room. The ground to ceiling clearance in the suite is around 10 feet and makes the suite even bigger. Overall value was more than the buck paid. Choose this instead of 5 star properties in Colombo if you want stay near to ocean.

Great view with a great location the view from this Ocean Edge Suites & Hotel Colombo is just too good. However you need to book the full sea view apartments reasonable rate only thing that needs improvement is the maintenance of the rooms especially the linen(bedsheets and pillow covers smells bad at times) and the never changing breakfast menu with hardly any sri lankan cuisine however the head chef was a gem of a person. However he too couldn't seem to incorporate the sri lankan menu into the daily menu

Nice stay Ocean Edge Suites & Hotel Colombo location is very good and staff is also very helpful actually i have booked my stay via mm t but Ocean Edge Suites & Hotel Colombo not accepted booking and when i reach Ocean Edge Suites & Hotel Colombo staff tell me that my booking canceled so there is account head guy name mr. Prakash he helped me and assigned room immediately and tell me you go to room when mm t confirm then you can process accordingly.

Stayed for a night. Room was OK and clean although the bathtub was not properly cleaned. We cleaned ourselves before soaking in for a while. Swimming pool was not used because it had notice saying that the the pool was booked for a party. Overall little expensive for the money paid. May be it is the location that you are paying for. For a holiday choose little further down the lane. Many good options available.

The Ocean Edge Suites & Hotel Colombo is good. Rooms are big with all the amenities which a family may need while vacationing. It's located right at the marine drive, which is very nice. Hotel staff are welcoming l, helpful and prompt with their services. Only thing that can be improved is breakfast buffet spread. Limited items and not many options available for small kids.

This visit to sri lanka was after gap of 3 years. This place got excellent location. Just across the the indian ocean. The rooms are spacious with inbuilt functional kitchen. Good for families who want to prepare small meal for themselves. Staffs are prompt and humble. Highly recommended if you are traveling either for leisure or business to colombo.

The Hotel was quite good and the suit was just awesome. We had to leave for the Airport the same night we reached there. Given that we weren't going to stay for breakfast next day, we asked them if they can provide us dinner buffet. They agreed without any additional charge! ) That was a wonderful gesture. Much appreciated.

Rooms like very spacious like good sofa sets having all equipments like fridge, induction stoves like many. Everything is fine but the quality of bathroom should be some more better. We had planned for dinner with indian taste and it was an excellent taste. Full marks for that and room service also excellent

Hotel needs some renovation but staff is doing its best to serve the guests. They are always around to care of you. Breakfast is simple with indian options. They can do a little more. Staff was checking on every guest if they needed anything. Room service is available but little slow. I will come back again.

Peaceful stay, breathtaking view and up to the mark services but they can definitely work on their restaurant where they serve breakfast.

We wanted to change the room so the bell boy was good and he helped us change the room faster as we had hunger kids with us

The property is located on marine drive, the front suites have a great view of the ocean. Food is good. We had requested for some more indian options which were prepared by them on the next day. The suites have a small pantry which is useful.

Had everything in it. Drawing/meeting room, kitchen with clean kitchen wares, induction heaters, fridge, microwave. Tv in both rooms

This is a place right on marine drive road and maintained well. Staff is good and very helpful. Breakfast is good. Small point of improvement could be that internet speed be made a bit better. I loved the place.

Pros: Excellent location nearby sea, excellent sea view, good food. Cons- Main gate is on backside.

Actually a suite. Has internal kitchen, iron board, living room with furniture and TV. Inside king-size room with another TV. Should go in group you can fill up the entire room. Staff is good.

It was a nice stay in Sri Lanka specially in Ocean Edge Sea facing room

We were group of friends from india travel-ling to sri lanka. We had a great time. We booked a cab from Ocean Edge Suites & Hotel Colombo travel desk for 2 days at weligama and stayed with them on the birthday of one of us. They were kind enough to celebrate in style. Thanks ocean edge.
