Very basic hotel. Terrible food ( frozen veggies), waiter had no clue and tried to cover the bad quality food instead of recognizing it which make it double worst. Sauna was cold during the time we scheduled. Towels are like sandpaper, no shampoo. Only good thing was the Mariana at the reception, else go somewhere else.
First impressions were good. We were shown our room on the side of the hotel. I was disappointed it had a bath with shower over rather than walk in shower but the staff member was able to show us another room, but its location was not so good as it was right by the door to the outside pool. We decided to stay in the first. Room was small but clean. The air con is a portable freestanding type which is very very loud! The view from the balcony is beautiful. The usb points on one side of the bed did not work and the pillows were old and lumpy. I asked if they had firmer or basically any other pillows, they said they would ask. I heard no more. Breakfast was ok, basic. Pool area on the roof was nice. Towels good. Strangely the lift by the restaurant always smelled of fish! Carpark is very small, but we did always manage to find a space on the road. Overall, not for us, but choice is limited in that part of Madeira.
Everything was great except for the standalone air conditioner. The nights were a little bit hot and uncomfortable.

Don’t be fooled by the pictures - the pool is tiny. However, it’s not needed as the natural pools (which you get a free ticket through the hotel) are an absolute highlight. The staff were wonderful and the food was decent.
Absolutely breathtaking! Even though our balcony faced the opposite side of the better view our view was still amazing! The location was perfect and the restaurant and gift shop next door was a nice touch! The breafast included mimosa and the staff was very nice! We will be back some day!
Beautiful location, easy to access and stay.
Great stay here. Location and views are perfect. Our only complaint is not enough pool chairs/loungers by the outdoor pool. People were also saving there spots with towels but were nowhere to be seen often for hours

Wonderful room with balcony, pools and massages!
Beautiful entrance and smooth check in to the hotel. We wanted to quickly get out to the pools to take a dip. We dropped our things off in our room and just loved the look of the room and the fact that they had towels available in the room to use for the pools. We had great evening in the lava pools, rooftop pool and heated pool on level -1. We felt extra special and welcomed with a bottle of their blue champagne that was dropped off in our room while we were out. We had lovely massages by Leticia in the morning after a delicious breakfast provided by the hotel. Exceptional stay, thank you for a wonderful time. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Very good location , large rom with everything you need.
Hotel staff were really friendly and made extra special touches as we were celebrating a special occasion. Rooms are spacious and have fantastic balconies overlooking the sea. Very clean and comfortable and lovely breakfast. The only one downside is the soundproofing is not that good so you can hear other guests however this also means you can hear the ocean which is nice. It did not affect our stay. We really enjoyed our holiday and would stay here again.
andrew.partnerFeb 18, 2024 Excellent stay, with a heated indoor pool and infinity pool on the roof. Steam room, sauna and hot tub available as well. Room cleaned daily with chocolates left on the bed!
Poor hotel, overpriced services and no atmosphere
Badly organised hotel. Arrived 5:30pm and room wasn't ready. This wasn't a one off as there were 4 other couples waiting with same problem. We had to ask for things several times before anything was done. Generally staff very unenthusiastic with a few exceptions. Drinks were very highly priced compared to other places on island. Almost double in some cases. Food was average but again very expensive for quality. Bizarre and sexist artwork in toilets. I would avoid this hotel.
konstantin.familyDec 20, 2023 Had an excellent stay at this hotel! The facilities are robust, and the staff is incredibly friendly. The operation time for the swimming pool and sauna until 22:00 was convenient, providing a relaxing experience after a day of hiking. Overall, we really liked this hotel and would highly recommend it.
Brilliant hotel, great view, superb breakfast!
Such friendly and helpful staff. Really nice breakfast but elements of half board dinner let the meal down eg potato rosti turned out to be a frozen hash brown. The very cheap and nasty blue fizz that is meant as a bonus only leaves a bad taste in more ways than one. Overall a very good hotel for the money.
Gorgeous views, friendly staff and hospitality. Good variety for breakfast. Can only fault not having air-conditioning around the hotel and in the bathrooms. Cleanliness could improve.
