melissa.familyAug 10, 2024 I recently stayed at Protaras Plaza Hotel and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. Upon arrival, there was no soap in the bathroom, which was a frustrating start. We were a party of four but only received three bath towels, and despite raising this issue multiple times, the situation never improved. The towels we did receive were dirty and marked.
Room service left much to be desired; the floors were left dirty, beds were not made properly, and we were often left with a folded sheet instead of a properly made bed. To make matters worse, the bathroom had mould on the ceiling and we encountered ants during our stay. The safe was also not functioning, and despite notifying the staff about a loose tap in the bathroom, it remained unfixed.
The beach towel policy was unappealing, as you had to hold onto them for 2-3 days before exchanging for new ones. Breakfast was another letdown—there was no air conditioning in the dining area, making it uncomfortably hot, and the drinks were often warm and diluted. Items like cake and soutchouko were not replenished, which was disappointing.
Lastly, borrowing an iron was an inconvenience, as you had to request it and return it after use. Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel based on my experience. There are definitely better options available in the area.
lesley.familyJul 21, 2024 Few teething problems when we arrived. Safe, door broken and it was not a twin room but was fixed and moved immediately.
Would definitely come back but would request a room not overlooking the Main Street.

I’ve stayed in many places in the area, & this was the best. First for the staff including reception, restaurant, chef & bar staff. Such lovely caring, kind people . The hotel & areas are lovely modern well kept. A big lift ( I’m not keen on lifts ) so this helped. Great location near the beach, shops & strip. Would definitely return. Great half board food too!
The lovely hotel is almost on a beautiful sandy beach. We did not eat an evening meal here as we ate out. The situation was wonderful.
Disliked, cleaning, its not a 4 stars hotel, No appreciation for Expideia loyal customers, no value for being an Expideia gold or platinum member, breakfast is so basic, dishes are stinky with bad smell, fruits looks soo cheep, coffee machine not good, bad coffee..
Cool hotel in great location. Close to the beach and beautiful Fig Tree Bay.
Hotel in general needs a lot of update. Room furniture is old and rusty. Patio (ground floor) doesnt have a fence so people from the road is looking at you while you sit outside.
However biggest minus is breakfast. One of the poorest breakfast that I ever saw. Choice of food is very limited. Should be changed asap for the price you pay.

Great location for the beaches and restaurants. It’s only a few years old so in very good condition. Service was good and staff were very nice. It was a pity that the roof top bar wasn’t open but there were plenty of other bars nearby. Great value
The property itself was generally ok. Rooms good a size and clean. I have put terrible for these reasons:
The choice for the breakfast offering was ok but the hot was tepid, fruit juices from a dispensing machine were tasteless, although looked the right colour. The fried eggs were all cooked at first serving and trays could be seen in the kitchen with other eggs already cooked and left on the side covered with cling film. They would be cold by the time they reached the servery which was barely warm. However this was nothing to the main complaint. On the roof and occupying just half of the roof space there was an open air night club which operated from Thursday through to Sunday from 10pm to 2am. We were on the floor below right underneath and it was quite frankly unbearable. We did manage to get moved to the other side of the hotel one floor down but our sleep was still disturbed. Seeing the reviews on Trustpilot now, I see that many people have had the same issue and the General Manager has commented that the nightclub is only used for special events. Simply not the case. It runs the four nights as mentioned above and there is a note in the lift stating just that. In the room we were moved to one side of the padded headboard had clearly been damaged at some point so they screwed a seat from a settee to the wall instead. The atmosphere was pretty sole less and struck me as a business hotel and certainly not a holiday one. If I return to Cyprus I will avoiding this hotel.
