I loved the cottage I stayed in! Having a kitchenette, porch, A/C were awesome! The only issues were; no screen on door; shower curtain rings wouldn't stay in place. Also fun were mini-golf, badminton, hot tub, pool, paddle boat. Thank you!!! Cheryl M. & her sister Janine

Beautiful quiet retreat
Country oasis two hours from San Francisco

This is a beautiful property with great facilities and amazing hiking trails right there. Thoughtful staff and good taste. Highly recommended.

So peaceful and such a beautiful place. The hiking was just right. I can see the potential for very enlightening retreats and strong meditation. I hope to lead something there next.

Everything was great ... except the people staying next door in the cabin to me intruded in my space. This had nothing to do with the property though just rude bad manner people. The property folks were amazing about communicating. The site is very nice and the new cabins are terrific.
Gem of a property

This is my third time staying at Mandala Springs. It's such a beautiful gem of a property. I've camped, stayed in the Cabins, and booked one of the lodges The staff is super laid back so if communication is important — you may get a little frustrated with their style but you may get used to their no frills attitude. There are hiking trails, meditation spots, the pool is lovely, and the bathrooms are clean and well maintained.

Loved the quiet location and surrounding grounds. There were nice trails and activities. Our lodge was well kept with nice updated appliances. There were some bug bites and I think the place needed to be aired out a bit. The pool was ice cold and no fun. Hot tub was nice but the workers do not keep up with the grounds during the day. Someone left the top off of the hot tub and it looked milky the entire trip. Overall nice experience
Great setup and facilities for kids

Very clean and basic but something charming about the location and setup. Has everyone one would need. Organic toiletries. Food onsite would be fantastic addition If they can add that. Pool; kayaking, bikes, hiking trails, it’s got a lot of things one can do. They are adding more facilities like a dining area etc as well but not sure when they’ll be done.
Restful

We came to decompress from all the COVID19 stressor. I was concerned about no internet in or cottage but found we slept better without have that sensory input. Our cottage was clean and the lovely pine walls muted sound. I would highly recommend this place to others.

I loved it. My stay was very serene, which is exactly what I was looking for. I loved the hiking trails and the pool as well. But just the over sense of closeness to nature and the quietness of the place. The place has yoga retreats and such, and so drug use is not allowed. So there are no late night rowdy parties etc. Just a soothing and restful and sorta higher consciousness atmosphere. Thanks Mandala for an awesome stay!
Wish I could live here on occasion!

Fantastic! Super clean. Thoughtful during this time. Friendly, fun and magical. Looking forward to our next trip here once again.
ot quite what we hoped

The “cottage,” really a new/modern/clean cabin, was exactly what we needed. And the people at the office were nice but the place didn’t meet the expectations set in their advertising. There is no archery or minigolf. There is a small pool and pond to play in. They aren’t quite big enough for social distancing. And It claims to be a yoga retreat. I think it is really a campsite trying to upscale and become a yoga retreat got caught by COVID. We had fun. Good place to stay, just don’t expect much from the extra stuff.

creepy guys running the place, come over and look into the sliding door very frequently, also do stuff like banging on the wall in the middle of the night to see if they can scare you. The guy Jerry kept insisting that i sleep and rest over&over, kinda seems like a place where they try to brainwash people with weird recordings playing while you sleep. Kula, the front desk guy takes liberties like texting your personal phone number and stopping by to offer rice/bread for dinner like it was a prison camp or something. It was completely deserted otherwise. The hot water was shut off and after 5 min in the lukewarm shower it went ice cold, the heaters wouldn't run either he claimed he 'forgot to turn the breaker on' despite at first telling me everything was ready. The curtains are thin & the bathroom windows are wide without any sort of shade, so privacy is not really provided. Extremely uncomfortable and almost predatory feel for a woman travelling alone. Also certainly can't be up to fire code being as the sliding door in the front is the only entrance/exit & theres no fire escape. So looks like you could easily burn to death in an emergency. Absolutely horrible place, reminiscent of the Jerry Brown internment camps people talk about
Loved it!

We booked Mandala Springs Wellness Retreat Center for the labor day weekend. 2 families + 1 individual adult with 2 cottages and 1 tent. Space was very clean and well equipped with cooking appliances. Kids enjoyed swimming, bike riding, kayaking... I would recommend this place for a weekend getaway for families with young children. It is also a great hide away from busy city life.
A great resort for families

Calm and relaxing family-friendly resort. Lots of fun activities. A short visit rejuvenated us. WiFi was a bit intermittent in our cottage, but it worked well near the office.
Yes, a retreat!

Great place. Totally relaxing. Beds were hard, and I like a hard bed, but these didn’t move at all. Everything else was great. Kids loved the pool. Deer grazing were a bonus. Very beautiful area.

Mandala is a peaceful, beautiful place to stay. There’s not only a gentle stillness and sacred feeling to the land, their accommodations are pristine. Jerry, their delightful manager, helped us to feel welcomed and cared for. They are lucky to have him! We enjoyed getting to know him, John and his family as well as the amazing vision the owner has behind Mandala. This gem will become a well sought after place to unwind and clear the city off the bones - and we feel lucky to have found it. The deets: brand new cabins perched high off the ground, each w/their own porch & sitting area. Once you enter, you’re greeted with a gorgeous light-wood peaked roof with plenty of windows that spill beautiful light into the interior. I loved seeing the tree tops and sunshine from the higher windows, and also appreciated the air conditioning to cool off our rooms. Our two bed cabin had comfy fresh scented linens & extra soft blankets. The high ceiling bathroom had a gorgeous shower stall, plenty of counter space, high quality towels and liquid soap. Our mini kitchen had 2 electric stove top burners, refrigerator, quality cutlery & dishes and eco pans for healthy cooking. And to top it off —a French Press! I love that they’ve put such effort into making sure their guests are taken care of. It’s like glamping...meets luxuriously simple, zen like, accommodations...meets Retreat. This 108 acres gives back a little bit of that peaceful magic you didn’t even know you needed.
Never again

The grounds are beautiful and our cabin was very spacious and very clean. However, there's a sign posted that states that this is a vegetarian property and that guest are not allowed to cook any meat or eggs in their rooms as well as consume any alcohol on the property. If I pay for a room and want to enjoy a glass or three of wine, who are you to tell me that I can't? Fine if you want to be vegan. Why do I have to be? As long as a lingering smell isn't left in the room, I should be able to cook whatever I want. Also, the bed was by far the most uncomfortable mattress I have EVER slept on. It was very disappointing that they seemed to decide to cut corners on the mattresses they chose. Very hard memory foam-like material that has very little give. Lastly, when we went to check out, there wasn't a soul to be found in the store/office. After waiting around and taking a quick look around the outside of the office; I left a note and tucked our room key behind the front desk.
wonderful, private, and spacious

I loved the little house feel of my cabin - everything was new; plush towels, comfy blankets and bed, separate living room area and dining room with kitchen; and a great porch with chairs. I wish there was a microwave in addition to the stovetop. Also, they should mention that they are a vegan facility so folks know in advance - and so not bring foods like eggs or meat to cook.
