We enjoyed our stay! The facilities are amazing! Stand up paddle boards, 25 metre pool, volleyball, tennis, basketball, canoe, catamarans etc… The rooms are tired but extremely clean! The staff & buffet breakfast were excellent!

We stayed for 8 nights at the Holiday Inn in a resort facing room with a family of 4. The room was very nice and tidy. Good beds and linen. The pillows were a bit soft for our liking but not bad. The room was cleaned every day. The food in the restaurant was great. Good variety and it tasted very good. The Hawaiian pizza was our favourite! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We were really surprised at how nice all people in Vanuatu were. We travelled with a rental car and got to see a lot of the people and they are amazingly friendly. We will definitely go back to Vanuatu in the future.

The Staff at the resort are spectacular - they are all so friendly and willing to help in anyway you need. They genuinely seem to want to help you enjoy your stay. Would recommend to anyone to stay here. The resort may not be our usual 5 Star resort but the staff makes up for anything it might be missing.

Twin-shared room with my beloved daughter as we dealt with the recent loss of a family member. Room was adequate, good space and configuration, in-room aircon and ceiling fan were a god-send. A few problems with door lock (fixed eventually). Hotel staff generally and restaurant staff in particular were fabulous, very caring and attentive. Alot of stairs so may not be ideal for those with mobility issues. Swimming pool was much appreciated too.

The local staff were always warm and friendly although some more training is required for customer facing staff, front of house staff. Pools were clean and well maintained but lagoon swimming was out of bounds. The food and beverage offerings are expensive although the quality is good - particularly breakfast buffet. The property has a lot of stairs to access pools and the beach on the lagoon has been created and not greatly functional. The accommodation wings are very dated . Bathrooms dont have extractors and fog up . Ultimately this property is best suited to families with young children and it seems to be a focus for them. Not really an adult destination as facilities and accommodation aren't up to that level. Spent 4 nights and overall enjoyed Vanuatu however we will try a different ' resort' next time.

Well, what can I say… I was blown away by the total experience that Holiday Inn Vanuatu offered… from the time we checked in, to the gala NYE dinner, to every little request through our 7 day stay. Front office Manager Mayank Kothari ensured our family felt all at home and always greeted us with a smile; no request was ever frowned upon and I know some of the requests made were pushing it. Randy was a great host and was seen everywhere in the resort gracing his infectious smile. Chefs Ram, Aaka and Clinton always made it a point to visit us during meals time permitting of course ensuring all our palates were satisfied. Couldn’t not mention Matilda from front office and Tom - who helped out during a late night emergency for their excellent hospitality. Live music most nights was excellent and set the mood for a wonderful evening. The Malenasian and Curry night with the local performers and fire show was outstanding. Although the rooms were a bit dated and breakfast and lunch options could run out especially with longer stays, I wouldn’t hold it against the joint given the amazing mix of local and expats putting up a great show. Gym can be missed, not worth a visit. Spa is great though. All in all, one of the best holidays we have had in a while, thanks to the wonderful staff at Holiday Inn Vanuatu. We will be back soon to relive the wonderful experience we had last week.

The hotel needs a bit of maintenance and a coat of paint but it looks like nothing is being done to address this. Staff are very helpful and very friendly. There's free spotting equipment including kayaks and a sail boat. There is easy access to town but not much to see or do there. Restaurants in town are totally overpriced bordering on ridiculous .

My recent stay at the Holiday Inn was a blend of positive experiences and areas that could benefit from improvement. The staff's friendliness and professionalism stood out, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The outdoor facilities, including the pool and tennis court, kayaks, contributed to a resort-like ambiance. The breakfast selection, especially the omelette station and fresh coconut, added a delightful culinary touch. The staff were amazing! However, there were aspects that needed attention. Housekeeping lacked consistency, with varying supplies of towels and face washers. Breakfast items' freshness fluctuated based on the time of arrival, suggesting a need for better replenishment strategies. Basic dinner options like garlic bread and pizza were disappointing, leading me to explore dining outside. Long-term considerations included an outdated entrance that could benefit from a fresh coat of paint for a more inviting welcome. Bathroom ventilation was totally inadequate, leading to foggy mirrors after showers. The shower curtains did little to prevent water leaking. The outdated room decor and undersized pillow covers detracted from the overall experience, though the rooms were clean. We had to request additional covers so the pillow wasn’t on display. In conclusion, the Holiday Inn offers a mix of positive aspects and areas for improvement. By addressing these issues, it has the potential to enhance the guest experience and elevate its overall quality.

This was our 4th stay at this hotel, the staff and service is exceptional. This was our first time back in about 5 years and I was a bit disappointed to see the hotel looking pretty tired, the rooms are functional but pretty well worn. It’s been a rough few years for Vanuatu though, so it’s all pretty understandable.

The Holiday Inn is an older resort, by some standards, but it is clean, comfortable, quiet and it”s food is fresh and delicious. One of the best parts of the resort is that it HAS THE MOST AMAZING STAFF. They are soooo friendly and helpful. My family of 5 (with 3 young adult children) couldn’t have been looked after better.

Our family of 4 (two older teens and two adults) loved our stay at the Holiday Inn. Yes, IHG needs to spend some money to bring some of the infrastructure up to scratch but it's perfect understandable given the impact of COVID and the cyclones. Most importantly the staff and management at this hotel are amazing! The amenities are great (just a little tired) with a choice of 2 pools and fun activities, the restaurant and the bar as well as well maintained gardens. The food was very good - great quality and range of things on offer in a lovely setting. The staff are beautiful; friendly, funny, kind. We were extremely impressed with management too - nothing was too much trouble. They do a lot to change things up and keep it interesting for guests with special nights and entertainment. The kids were impressed with the WIFI.

Definitely stay in Vanuatu at the Holiday Inn, but maybe don't stay here just yet. In the room/resort there is no compendium, map or information about facilities in the resort so we wandered around and found things ourselves. The activities list in the activities hut looks to be from pre-covid times as we haven't seen any of those activities happening whilst we've been here. On rainy days we borrowed board games from the kids club for something to do. Our other travel company didn't tell us that you can't swim in the lagoon as its riddled with E Coli and unsafe to do so until at least 2026 but both pools are still functioning and clean. The kids pool is so much fun for the littlies and has been cleaned whilst weve stayed. You have to bring plenty of sunscreen as the pools do not have much shade and the sun in Vanuatu bites hard. Resort breakfast is good with the egg/omelette station and barista coffees the real stand outs. Breakfast staff are absolutely lovely and welcoming, as is Helen at reception. Dinner food is okay, similar to a pub menu in Australia and no signs of local cuisine unless you attend the Melanesian feast night (Tuesday) with cultural dance and song (food is fantastic but entertainment does tend to drag on). The curry buffet and fire show (Thursday) has fantastic tasty food and the show is great for the family. There's been some people visiting from Holiday Inn corporate this week and we've seen more cleaning and organising from the staff than ever.

Old but nice hotel. Needs bit of work. Food was great, crew too. You can’t swim in lagoon because is infected with some bacteria. Pool is very good. Be ready for long time orders preparing, but that’s on whole island. Prices are too high for food and drinks. Use local drivers for island trips. All tours companies are overpriced. Money change you can do in the city. High percentage for credit cards payments .

Don’t normally do reviews but in a post Covid world with Vanuatu not long opening, we had lots of questions so thought others might as well. A lot of reviews talk about how dated the hotel is. This is true. But they were in the process of painting areas and gardening while we were there. Services is excellent, staff always wanting to help. Food was nice. It’s not the cheapest compared to local places but kids ate free so it made a huge difference. Kids club was great. They have activities every day for the kids. If your child is under 3, they do a nanny service in the same area. Pool area for families and kids was great. They had bonus pool items such as a ride on whale and plenty of pool noddles. Heaps of fun and spent most days there. Can also use the kayaks, catamarans, and stand up paddle board for free to go out into the lagoon area. Overall a great time for family’s with kids.

We were coming for meetings with the other missionaries in the area and our meetings were being hosted at the hotel. We’d been told how epic the hotel was so we paid to stay there vs staying somewhere less expensive. It was alright. We were greeted with a traditional custom greeting when we arrived which was nice. However, their website says they have a free airport shuttle, but when we called to ask they said we’d just have to get a taxi. Our room was ok but a little dated. Our friend’s room had the door handle fall off. They were doing a lot of repairs and construction while we were there. The food was ok. The staff was nice. There was an issue at checkout however. You have to put a 30,000vt hold on your credit card on arrival and are told you can use it for meals or whatever you need to and the balance will be returned at checkout. When I asked about that at checkout they said no that was not how it was done, asked for my cc again, and charged me a 4% cc service fee. The pools were nice for the kids and they have kayaks and sailboats and things like that, but I’m glad we were able to get the cheaper price on this website.

The staff really make this place somewhere you look forward to visiting. The rooms need some updating and cleaning in places. The grounds are genuinely beautiful and the amenities are fine. The restaurant food is solid, but could do with a refresh and richer flavour. Be warned, the resort is expensive. Even with kids eating and staying for free, this place is very pricey, as an example, $13 for two cans of soft drink.

Stay at the holiday Inn was amazing. Place was clean, always had events and the staff were great. The staff are much nicer than anything you get in Australia. Only downside to the stay was that food at the resort/events at the resort are so over priced and expensive because they know only tourist stay at the hotel, so they can basically charge at a very high price. The New Years event was pretty dull, no fireworks for approx $90 AUD.

The location is great. Close to everything to do in Vila, and Erakor lagoon is great. They offer lots of activities for kids which is great ((SUP, kayak, sail boat...). Staff are friendly but very disorganised when it comes to order food or drinks. Be ready to wait or to have another customer drinking your orders. The rooms are very small and lack comfort (especially four 4 people). They are very basic with no real charm, and can be quite noisy. Avoir eating there as the food has no interest at all and far better restaurants in town.

TV reception in room irratic.... Closer inspection showed very poor state of coaxial cable installation. Cable connections very loose and literally falling apart, hence hit and miss tv reception. Doors exiting onto garden area locks so stiff my wife couldnt undo them. Flyscreen for door removed and left propped up against a fence outside the room. No plug for bath. A lovely looking hotel but it had a number of issues that made it a less enjoyable experience. We had 8 nights in a garden view room. The room was clean and modern but the locked interconnecting door to the neighbouring room meant we heard EVERYTHING through it - including music played at 2am. I know this isn’t the hotels fault but I’d ask for a room without the connecting door next time. The hotel clearly had an issue with a lack of towels while we were there. We would have our room made up and on 5 out of 8 days the housekeeper removed the towels we were using and didn’t replace them, leaving us with a couple of face washers. Every afternoon I would call reception advising we had no towels and would be advised they’d send some to us ‘straight away’ - that meant they never arrived and we’d have to raid linen supplies on our floor or they’d come 5 hours later. It was such an inconvenience when you just wanted a shower after a day at the beach and knew you had to sort your own towels out. Surely that’s a standard inclusion! The food was also very ordinary. On our first day they advised they had run out of ice cream, despite it being during school holidays and seemed to run out of a number of menu items at the pool bar. Staff seemed reluctant to replenish empty buffet breakfast items too, despite breakfast still running for another hour. Overall a bit disappointing. All that fighting for towels every day wore me down. Picking a different place next time.

The view from the hotel is breathtaking, the bay is beautiful. The Catamaran boats are great but the Kayaks are not comfortable for use and break the back here are minimal or no activities for the kids. The food is horrible with no taste, the staff is very friendly but slow (took more than 1.5 hours to get the food after our order. Old and smelly rooms, not enough towels in the room (had to ask for more over and over again)

We stayed in the over water bungalows which are definitely the best rooms of the resort! (We did feel a few earthquakes staying there which were a little unsettling but after talking to locals they said not to worry - they happen all the time). The food isn’t the greatest, but it’s pretty on par with what is available on the island. Breakfast was great so def include in your stay if you can. The gym isn’t a gym, just a small room with one rack of dumbbells (up to 10kgs) - no other equipment. Great place for families to stay - you could stay here an not leave if you wanted too. I would definitely stay here again. Great location to get to the sites on either side of the island and the hotel work with taxis and tours so can help arrange them for you!

Impressive building - entrance & reception area. Cleanliness. Good staff Mold smell took a bit of getting used to but with 100% humidity it must be difficult to manage. Beautiful surroundings and very helpful services.

Beautiful location on the lagoon. You are surrounded by the natural beauty of Vanuatu. The enormous trees as you drive into the resort, the beautiful golf course. The view from the breakfast area / restaurant, is the best I've ever seen. This Holiday Inn Vanuatu is truly a tropical paradise.

Loved this holidays in Holiday Inn Vanuatu as a mum of two very active kids especially!! Kids club, which is free, was fantastic with a full daily programs from morning to night till 9pm and staff were so friendly and they really cared the kids staying in the resort. The resort provide free water activities like beach valley ball, boat, kanu and so on. And every night there are family friendly shows like fire show for instance and it was really amazing. For breakfast buffet, the omelette was soooo good and the iced coconut water was unforgettable. And for lunch and dinner kids eat free so it is really good value to eat at the resort rather spending extra money on the wheels.

Our family enjoyed our time here, my wife and two boys (5 and 8), staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful. Food was not great though and really needs improvement. Quite a limited a la carte selection and buffets tended to be overpriced and often didn’t include items advertised on menus. Being right on a lagoon was great as it meant we could use the catamarans to sail around every day, which was a amazing! Canoeing was great too - always plenty of equipment available. Swimming pool was good but I felt it could have been better maintained and a little cleaner. In the six days we stayed there was two great shows we saw at the resort - a Vanuatu culture show with dancing and coconut demonstrations and a very impressive fire show which the kids really enjoyed - I think there was another one we missed too. Location was close to Port Vila which meant easy access to town if you wanted to go there. Very kid friendly and whilst the kids enjoyed kids club they probably spent most of their time there watching DVDs which wasn’t ideal- the advertised activities didn’t seem to always take place. Overall a great experience but they do need to lift their game with the food side of things- better quality, more variety and perhaps a little more imagination!

Great resort with plenty of outdoor sorting activities for adults & kids. Loved that the kids oil was away from the adults pool & far enough away from the lagoon. Plenty of shaded areas to sit by the lagoon.

Friendly staff (always smiling, welcoming and ready to help). Great amenities like kayaking, sailing (on a catamaran), golf, tennis, ping pong, lovely pools, volley ball etc.... All free. Location right on the lagoon.... easy approach to the water. A fabulous kids club program that kept my 7yr old girl completely occupied throughout our stay (made some great friends). Great breakfast but limed Food options for lunch and dinner and also a tad bit pricey. Easy to get to town for 300vtu

Great location, great staff, honestly EXTREMELY GREAT Staff! They are what the holidays extremely pleasing and enjoyable. The room's air conditioning could have been better, as it wasn't as cold as it should have been and the shower was terrible, as they had a mixed tap, bath and shower and it wasn't working properly, as when the water was on it came out of both holes, such a lot of wasted water. Apart from that I would probably have preferred more traditional entertainment like the fire one, which was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! and the night before the singer in the bar. More entertainment like would be great! I would definitely HIGHLY recommend this great hotel.

Room stunk like mould... I guess that’s common in the given climate. Mould was around the door frame to room. Every time you entered room it took a few minutes to adjust your nose to it. Meal and drink orders were stuffed around a few times as well as mulitple times were told items weren’t available. Some days the service was very slow, over half an hour wait for two drinks. Staff do try though. House keeping very late most days didn’t come till after 4pm, sometimes had to wait till clean towels arrived before we could shower. Sheets didn’t get changed over the 7 nights. We had issues with our shower, the tap came off the wall and it just got placed back on but wasn’t able to change the temperature, it came off again and they screwed it on.Overall a decent hotel with a beautiful scenery with friendly staff who try but are lacking in real hospitality standards. Spa massage was great all over the body except scalp massage and hair treatment was disappointing to say the least.

This is an older resort that is showing it's age in some areas. That being said, I would very happily come back here and plan to do so again next year. The location is great, right on the lagoon for swimming, kayaking etc. It has one large main pool but also a second quieter and deeper pool that we found to be less frequented. If you want to go into town, it's roughly a 15 min walk or a very quick bus trip. The food varied between ok and very good but there was certainly nothing to complain about. Rooms although dated were very clean and the beds very comfortable. There are theme nights and the fire dance show is not to be missed. What makes this place so good is it's staff and management and therefore, it's feel. It's certainly not flash but it is very real and welcoming. The staff are genuinely happy and friendly and are obviously well treated. In fact many voluntarily told us how good it is to work there and that they are well looked after. All in all, a lovely place that we will happily return to.

My stay was amazing. I’m a single mum of two small kids and it was so easy, the staff felt like family. The kids loved every second. From meals, to day tours to lounging around the pool, everything was perfect.
