Rooms are comfortable but need some refurb, there is only one useless restaurant with limited options and not good food.

Great place to stay in bake

Very comfortable, luxurious stay, polite staff. Location close to all attractions by a short ride
outdoor pool was great fun, kids really enjoyed
very high quality furnishing in the room. Bathroom well equipped
The hotel rooms are not that great. Its from an old era so it does have that opulence but it looks dingy now too. The lighting in the hall is barely enough to see anything. The times we were there, the front desk was not helpful. We asked for a charger for our phone which they denied and there was no bellboy both at check in and check out. The breakfast spread is decent but nothing to write home about. Things to keep in mind - the power sockets here are the round recessed sockers, so make sure your chargers would be compatible or get an adapter. The room that we stayed in had a separate bidet where we need to get up from the toilet and sit on the bidet to clean outselves which i don't like. Plus point was that there was a working jacuzzi in our room. In terms of location, this is right opposite hyder alive and smack in the center of the city.

Not so good experience

We stayed for 2 nights in may 2024 it was not a great experience. Check in
a simple check in at 6 pm in the evening took more than 30 minutes. We had paid reservations for 3 rooms but they said they had only 2 rooms. After a lot of to and fro they finally were able to confirm that we indeed had 3 rooms. During this time even asking multiple times to give the other 2 rooms or at-least get the luggage but they failed to do either. Room
the room was very okayish. It seems like quite an old one. We had stayed at mercure in bake they had international adapters on their plugs but that wasn't the case here. Breakfast
the breakfast was the saving grace it had a decent spread and especially it had one pure veg dish which we failed to find anywhere else in azerbaijan(one day they had dal & on the next day they had fried rice) location
it is said to be in a good location in front of hyder aliyev centre but the area has a lot of traffic so it's very time consuming to travel anywhere from here. Check out
when we called the reception for bell boy for luggage they said that the bell boy is available only after 1 pm. They messed up during check out as well. The reception asked us to pay a room service bill of more than 100 manat(5000 rs) but we didn't have any room service order. When asked for a detailed bill or signatures on the bill they showed some random bills of 12th may/19th may/20th may but we had checked in on 23rd may. We were getting late for the flight. But when we stayed firm that it wasn't ours did they let us leave.

Property is good for the price. However, housekeeping is pretty bad

We stayed at excelsior for 4 days and our stay was pretty average. Housekeeping is a big issue as in spite of multiple reminders there were no hygiene bags or the cups and mugs were not cleaned up. We’d used cups and plates outside the room for 3 days. Another challenge is communication as none of their employees speak / understand english. Rasam was good and helped us with intercity cab bookings. A new guy, abbas (if i remember correctly) was super helpful and kind in the last 2 days of our stay. Overall a 6/10.

Amazing and hygienic rooms with beautiful views and spacious area. The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly and kind. One of the best hotels i have ever been to.

Supportive staff, speaks English and restaurant Chef makes amazing food
The rooms are good. Deluxe room is better, Standard rooms are a bit too small. Front desk reception lady - GULER is very helpful. She made our check in procedure very smooth, helped with English translation, provided small money and is very patient and sweet. Had a good experience ANAR too. The cleaning staff lady, ELIZAH is very welcoming and warm. Do try Margarita pizza and Bruschettas. Restaurant staff is very patient and nice. Jasmine tea is a must try!
Superior rooms are very small and don't have any space. Steam room was not working when we stayed. The indoor swimming pool is only for professionals (more than 6ft in depth. Some of the staff were friendly and helpful. However, front desk staff could do a better job addressing customer issues. We complaint of mosquitoes in the room which was not resolved. We only got " i will inform the manager" as a response. The property was clean and safe. A little far from the main area i. E. Nizami street. Its an old property and the age of the property shows in bathroom fittings, towels, etc. Overall an average stay. Giving 4 stars only because we felt it provided value based on what we paid.

The reception staff has took all our attention by helping us for every necessary needs!!! A big shout out to Mr.Anar great job on helping us!! And the breakfast was super delicious everyday something different to try.. worth staying 5 star is the truth …. Ty guys u made our trip more lovable

We were taken cared of the best that they can. The staff and the team were very accommodating, welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed the very sumptuous breakfast and the house keeping are consistent in maintaining the rooms. It was just excellent. Sure

The hotel is located at a great location - very close to hyder eliyev centre. Every famous place is 15-20 mins away by taxi, which costs very reasonable. The hotel staff is very welcoming and helpful - makes your stay as comfortable as possible. My personal favourite is jalal, who is like a brother now. He made sure we get every experience we hoped for. Jamal and pauri are also very nice and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to baku.

3 km away from Nizami but the hotel offers shuttle service till Park Bulvar. We stayed in the deluxe room which was fabulous.
