Had to walk with the curtains just to not be seen. Complimentary water 1/2 sized. $350 deposit for what! Wouldn't stay again. Had better experiences in Williamsburg hotels for the same price.
We had a very nice stay! The hotel was close to three or so different Subway stops that made it easy to travel around Queens and Manhattan. The deli nextdoor was also very convenient.
I had a great stay at the Modernist and really enjoyed the neighborhood!

Only stayed one quick night but the room was nice and the bed was clean and comfy. I liked the decor and the balcony. The lobby was tiny, wish I had time to check out the art installations, the funky room behind the elevator looked cool.

I enjoyed how quiet this hotel was at night (I am a light sleeper). I only stayed 1 night, but I would definitely stay there again.
Quiet cozy friendly hotel a quick hop to the city
We really enjoyed this cozy boutique hotel. Friendly staff. Quiet and comfortable, with quick ride by Lyft or subway to sights and sounds of NYC (without the noise and bustle when you want to sleep!). There are only a few rooms per floor -- felt like a private apartment. A corner deli about 50 feet from the door, which was handy. The room could use a few more outlets next to the bed and maybe a few more amenities in the kitchenette. But otherwise a great stay.
The hotel was very accessible to all the place we went, the room was very comfortable, it give a sense of a homey vibe and good space. The surroundings is not too crowded and felt safe.

Great stay! Very walkable to several subway train stations and in a nice area for the immediate radius of the hotel. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. The room felt more like an apartment than a hotel room, which was extremely comfortable and what we were hoping for!
The front desk’s agent especially Laura & Sophia are always kind and helpful as well as accommodating and they’re always my favorite hotel to visit when I’m in town:)

The first room we were in didn’t have any outlets next to the bed, only 1 by the tv, so we were upgraded to suite that was better but the electric shades did not cover the windows in its entirety so light came in. Just not a good experience all the way around!
