The location is fabulous, one hears and sees the gush of the sea all the time. The food is legendary, especially its wonderful buffet breakfasts and lunches on its expansive verandah by the ocdean. Its amenities were very good and generous, the bathrooms expansive with thoughtful bathtubs overlooking the ocean, and its services - always with a smile. A small wifi problem saw an it manager bring a powerful router to my room to solve it immediately. The legendary mr ratnayake at the entrance in his grand traditional costume perfectly mirrors the courtesy, old=world charm and grandeur of the Galle Face Hotel Colombo it is full of history, artefacts and memories. If you're in colombo, you must stay at least a couple of nights at the gfh.
Great iconic hotel with average reception

The property is iconic due to the history it comes with. Secondly the only major Galle Face Hotel Colombo right on the beach having sea view rooms. Thirdly the buffet breakfast is one of the best. The only two negatives or something to keep in kind is that there are two wings in the property. One is refurbished and modern and the other is old and spooky. So book the one which is modern as during our stay various people fell for this discrepancy on booking rooms. Secondly the reception staff is not welcoming and is trying to sell you upgrades etc to the modern wing as the situation is ambiguous on online booking platforms.

Our overall experience at this colonial and vintage property was out of the world. This property nestled in the heart of the marine lines had all category if restaurants, cafe, spa and scenice beauty that you didn't have to leave this property at all. Sundowners at fire-beach and a la cubano overlooking the sea was just flawless. We had a great joyous experience. The courteous staff at the porch and restaurants were always on their toes. I'm definitely coming back to this property whenever in town. Overall vintage decor and ambience of the property was truly impressive
Special stay at a special hotel

Excellent location, with beautiful room combining modernity and tradition plus sea views. Hall e face is a special Galle Face Hotel Colombo. Right from the specially dressed keeper at the entrance to the open air restaurants, and the hallways teeming with collectibles and art work. It transport you to a different time. The service is quite good too. The only area where i would love some improvrr ed my is the range of indian vegetarian food. Overall very happy.

It’s is very old property built in 1864 and the Galle Face Hotel Colombo is closest to the sea. You can get in colombo. The property is aging but still maintain nicely. The sea facing restaurant is marvelous and worth trying. There are continuously events happening there, and it’s hustling bustling Galle Face Hotel Colombo. The staff is very courteous and take care of the guest nicely. It is next to indian high commission in sri lanka.

Great location. Excellent ambience like an exclusive country club. Veranda h restaurant has excellent views and a great vibe. Food is tasty and reasonably priced. On the negative side the bathrooms are too old fashioned and the bathtub is a potential accident hazard

Amazing property with the best view. The restaurants, room service everything is just too good. Only the room size is a bit small and swimming pool not for kids since it’s 5’ and 7’. Rest overall a just too good experience.

I absolutely loved the vibe of the place. It's vintage and a colonial structure. The restaurants are all by the sea. However, feedback about the rooms. They need to provide universal ports or usb ports to charge devices.

The stay was quite comfortable as the Galle Face Hotel Colombo has an excellent location. It is a heritage Galle Face Hotel Colombo with a lot of history attached to it. Sometimes it gets crowded due to the wedding celebrations. Breakfast and food was quite good.
