Citrus Hikkaduwa Hotel

Lets break the review down in the "good" and the "not-so-good". 1) The Good : perfect location, on the beach with good surf, good surfing area is pretty near. Food is good and very reasonably priced. We found the food to be better and less expensive than the restaurants outside. Breakfast was sumptuous and well rounded with Sri Lankan and continental dishes. Staff is pleasant and co-operative. Kudos to the staff which made our stay so pleasant. 2) Not-so-good: The room was not well prepared, the floor was sticky when we checked-in. The check-in and check-out process were slightly slow. There is no changing area / shower near the pool. There is just one shower in the lawns which mainly serves to clean the sand when you come from the beach. The pool doesn't have a separate kids-zone. In fact there is no children's play area. There are limited TV channels (just 9!). The Elevator is situated on one end, so one has to walk the whole length of the Citrus Hikkaduwa Hotel to reach the room. Most of the shortcomings are architectural or in maintenance, the staff at the restaurant and reception more than make up for it. Definitely recommended.

We were off to Sri Lanka for a short trip and as suggested by our friends, we planned to stay in Hikkaduwa. I did lot of research and decided to stay at Citrus for one of the days. I must say that I made an excellent choice of Citrus Hikkaduwa Hotel. The Citrus Citrus Hikkaduwa Hotel is a combination of a great location, helpful staff, good food etc. The precinct of the Citrus Hikkaduwa Hotel is neatly kept and the rooms are also really tidy, where you can enjoy the beach view. There are many good eating joints, rent a bike service, money exchange counters at a walkable distance from the Citrus Hikkaduwa Hotel. Also, there is a supermarket and a wine shop just opposite the Citrus Hikkaduwa Hotel. I would suggest that you book a bed and breakfast room, as the breakfast was scrumptious and had lot to offer for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. To sum up, it was a joyful experience and would definitely recommend others to book their stay with The Citrus Hotel.

It's in a beautiful location, very close to reef, where you can snorkel. Staff is courteous and attentive. Only problem we faced was with the AC, which was making too much of a noise on Mid & high fan speeds. Even after couple of request and front office telling us politely that it has been rectified it wasn't during our stay of 2 nights with them. They have a good spread for breakfast but for the dinner they lack options for vegetarians (pasta and pizza was not part of the menu, which was very surprising for a star rated property like Citrus), but they have a good Indian restaurant right next door, so it was not an issue for us from the next day onward.

It is located within Hikkaduwa, so very close to the market, shacks and other joints will just be a walk away. The rooms with the beach view on the top floors are the best. Warning if you are booking the eco budget rooms it is behind the Citrus Hikkaduwa Hotel not recommended. The food spread is very good and so as in the live music in dinner. The only problem is the pool which is very small.

A very good Citrus Hikkaduwa Hotel with Excellent atmosphere. They arranged me a cake for my wife's birthday in a quick turnaround time. Superb staff with great attitude.

I had stayed at Citrus for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Beautiful view, Extremely helpful and friendly staff, Good food, Comfortable rooms. The beach is just a minute walk, Snorkeling and Turtles are just about a 5 min ride in Tuk and full marks to the customised evenings, Karoake and Barbeque were a nice add on to my stay. Happy customer and definitely recommending Citrus

This is a happening place with a very good ambience. Easily accessible to Beach and you enjoy watching big Sea turtles. Hotel location is also very good and nearby to food joints.

Location good, Food is very good, wash room is not so good.

WiFi not that great. Rooms are good but washrooms are small. Breakfast was very nice. Staff is very nice. Location is nice. Nearby restaurants are good, I tried Happy Waves. Water sports centers for Snorkelling, Scuba Diving and Surfing within the reach.

Located in center. Good view. Good food. It was a pleasant stay.
