Akash Inn

A thoroughly compelling watch, refreshing to the horror genre where in recent years all complexity has been sucked out, leaving us with bland and cheap tricks that get our heart rates high with nothing left to engage the mind. While most recent horror films had been illogically justified by religion, the lodge takes a more passive and skeptical view of the same and brings out the predominance of guilt surrounding the concept of god, more as a form of control rather than helping believers of god. It also dealt with broken family, unlike most films which are set in a perfect family with some vague doom descending upon this fairy tale shabbily crafting a tepid "horror" story. The movies engagement with some sophisticated philosophical questions, enquiring the nature of reality distinguishing life and death would leave viewers pondering. The movie has worked its way very smartly without reinventing the wheel of the horror genre, using known tropes while showing them in an unthreatening and unpredictably unexceptional and almost detached way, leaving you wondering what the real horror is, ultimately leaving you with the dreadful conclusion of your own self being your worst horror. The sound track is also minimal, a reflection of the rational take of the film on the horror theme by the makers. It’s visually very compelling with great technical detail given to the aesthetic layout and good editing. It’s a must watch for anyone in with disbelief new age horror.

We stayed for a day in the last week of december. Room was very neat and clean and sufficient for a couple and 2 small kids. Hotel is very close to both bus and train station, which was a big plus. Locality of the Akash Inn had a commercial street which encouraged us to explore and to buy things we missed packing. Very tasty food and the atmosphere in the dining place was cosy and comfortable. Just that it took longer than ideal time to serve. Hotel staff were very friendly and courteous. Upon my request i got a recommendation for a very good driver to travel locally. We also gave our clothes for laundry service to be picked up on return thru shimoga. We will stay at aakash inn next time we pass by shimoga.

Stayed there for a day. Room was well equipped and cosy. Though inside the Akash Inn it looked like rooms were very packed, inside the room it was adequate with a table and workspace though no balcony. My wife enjoyed the food at the vegetarian spice cafe very much. Though the front desk reception was curt and unsmiling. And the parking attendants outside were sloppy and the car parking area looked very constricted, the rest of the service including housekeeping and room service was very good and prompt. Liked the ambience in the room.

Nice adequately spacious rooms. Amenities were good and housekeeping staff was efficient and polite. Claim of 24hr hot water was found to be true. Wifi signals were not perfect but okay. Restaurant, i ate only veg. Was excellent in both taste and service. Only issue i faced was first room given was under their top floor restaurant and i was facing trouble sleeping as i am light sleeper. But on request they immediately changed me to other room which solved the issue. Overall good stay.

Stay was pleasant here. Service was excellent. The only discomfort was the bed was little small than the usual king size, but they gave an extra bed to adjust that. Other than that the stay deserves 5 star. The reason i have given 4 stars is the non veg restaurant available inside wasn’t up to mark. The bills had discrepancies both times v had food there. Wherein the veg restaurant in g floor didn’t have any issues and the service and food was also good here. Overall a good stay.

Good Akash Inn. Clean, spacious rooms, wash rooms & with all amenities. Their wifi & complimentary breakfast is good. They have a good vegetarian restaurant in the ground floor & good non vegetarian restaurant with bar on the 4th floor. They do serve good & delicious food. Hotel surroundings are very clean & ample car parking place around. They are just 1. 7kms from railway station & in central business district of shivmoga city. Their staff are courteous & serve with smile

Moderate and comfortable food provided by Akash Inn staff and explained nicely availability of variety of food in simple and easily understandable language i. E. In kannada it helps us to order quickly as per our desire, as regarding security is o. K. Hotel management is nice please put reception counter call number in bold and visible manner in the rooms provided to customer so they can contact easily by seeing the number quickly

We had a lovely atty at aka-ah inn. All the staff were very courteous. Efficient chexk in and xhek out process with absolutely no waiting time. Food was excellent. Sup-rise was our rooms were interconnected as we were a family of 6 so found this very thoughtful of the management to provide such a facility. Hotel location is also good. Overall, very affordable and worth a stay at akash inn.

Great location of the Akash Inn. Extremely friendly and courteous staff. Veg restaurant has good options and quality of food is great. Rooms were a bit small than i expected but it was very clean. Definitely recommend this Akash Inn for people travel-ling with family.

The Akash Inn is well maintained and the staff is courteous. Booked a suite and found it to be spacious. However, the Akash Inn should work on it's offerings of breakfast. There was no buffet and limited items on the menu. Thank you

Wonderful property in the heart of the city, clean washrooms, good food and great staff. We’d booked 2 rooms, both were clean and specious. One room the ac wasn’t working, but no complaints as the weather was chilling. Happy
