Ambady Estate

Ambaddy Estate is spread over 125 Acres of land mass at Pallivasal, 10 kms before the town of Munnar( While coming from Kochi). The estate is owned by a Doctor. There are 8-9 cottages in the Estate which are available for rental. The surroundings are stupendous.. Lush green cardamom plantations, flora and fauna in abundance. Have that Morning tea in the lawn outside your cottage and take a stroll in the estate. Approach to the estate is via a serpentine pebble stricken road which after a few twists and turns inside the estate leads you to the reception. The car tyres will definitely take a hit. The reception is small and beautiful with a lot of books/novels neatly arranged.. Take a book and read. The cottages are located about 200 meters from the main cottage and you have to walk to reach there ( The staff assist you in carrying your luggage) The cottages are well furnished and pretty cosy. No ACs no ceiling fans. Probably because of the cool climes there. You have the option of ordering your food including Lunch/Dinner/ Breakfast to your cottage or walk up to another cottage next to the reception which is their restaurant ( We preferred to have our food in the open Air, outside the cottage). The Menu has all kinds of options and you need to place the order an hour or two earlier. The vegetables etc used in cooking is their homegrown produce only except for Non veg items. Food taste was reasonably good although not culinary delight types. Negatives.. They don't accept credit cards 2. No Wi-Fi is available 3. Sat TV wasn't functioning though the LED was functional. It didn't bother us as we didn't go to watch TV there. Vodafone and Airtel Signals serve you well there though at times they play truant too. Other Mobile services like Reliance etc have a problem. Why I choose this place was because I didn't want to stay in Munnar town and listen to the cacophony of tourists and cars floating around. 2. The charm of staying in an Estate.. The exclusivity.

We stayed for 2 nights here and had a very good time. The rooms are big and well-designed, have a high roof and a small garden in front of you as well. If you plan to chill on your holiday this is a really good option. You can take a walk in the spice plantation this place is made on. A total of 8 cottages, (2 cottages are together, and 4 such are there) this is place is not overcrowded and gives you decent privacy. The hospitality of Byju was worth applause as he makes you feel special. Even the other staff is very well-behaved and trained and it shows. Overall you can expect high standards of professional service from them. Room setting and housekeeping too gives a feeling of someone who knows hospitality well managing this place. The free breakfast if to die for, it is no way something of a compromise, rather you can order a lot, we used to have 2-3 chocolate milkshakes as they were just heavenly. Other milkshakes etc were good too. The Cheese omelet was something you don't get at good restaurants also, very well made and a good dose of cheese in it. Location is I think 8 kms before main Munnar, and views from your room are not likely to be a clear fair view of the mountains, but that of trees and plantation around you is very good. Only thing we didn't like was the flush didn't work that well, and you ended up using a bucket of water to flush it. Recommend this place to all people who like to chill!!

Every thing about this Ambady Estate is just amazing.. Starting from the welcome drink (spice tea) to the breakfast & inside trekking. The staff is very friendly and courteous. The cottage is well maintained & clean with a proper take care of guest, even you will feel like pampered and you won't like to leave. Birds ciphering in the Morning will be your alarm clock and you can spot many varieties of birds. Breakfast and dinner served is very hygienic and fresh, they used the vegetables grown in their own property. I am a die hard fan of non-veg but they suggested us to go for the veg curry and it was worth it. In short a very delicious food. If you are interested in trekking they will be more than happy to take you to a tour even they will provide you the leach socks & salt. The forest was very dense because of the rain so they provided us a guide cum friend Mahendran. He is a very enthusiastic person and a nature lover which will make your tour more interesting... You can easily spot all the spices grown in there area and if lucky(we were) also rare species of Squirrels. If you want a escape from the hustle and bustle of the city this is the perfect place to step in. A must visit place in Munnar and would love to visit again!!

We stayed for 7days and 8nights in ambady estate. A much-needed break after 2 years. The location and ambady estate lived up to the reputation. A combination of a few factors made this memorable for us. Fantastic location, super attentive and kind team, wonderful food. Special mention mr. Baiju, reservation process couldn't have been more smooth and professional, he was kind and gracious to answer all my questions. He resolved some reservation concerns i had and he ensured that all my questions were answered - his attention to detail and customer service had a tremendous impact on the quality of our entire stay. Special mention to mr. Mahendran, an extremely friendly and knowledgeable person who made our trip worth remembering. Our housekeeping attendant sudha went out of her way to ensure our room was neat, tidy and an inviting environment that made us feel calm and well-rested the day ahead. Special thanks to the chef, room service staff, and the gentleman leading from the front. Kudos to you all and keep up the great work! it ended up being the most fantastic vacation that i ever had. Thank you, ambady team. Can't wait to visit again )

One of the best ever stays of my life !!! Starting from the warm welcome by hot cup of spiced tea with their organically grown spices to tiny cosy cottage and awesomely curated Kerala delicacy everything were mesmerising. They have these cottages in small duplex type structure with your private garden area with seating arrangements and a beautiful Buddha structure which gets lit up at night to create a perfect ambience for a romantic candle light dinner. And actually you can do that without any extravagant arrangements and extra cost. One can take a stroll through their entire estate which is a paradise for nature lover. Hide and seek of clouds, sudden clattering of water, chirping of innumerable birds will take you to a different world. One can spend the idle hours just by relaxing in the hummock. In fact I will suggest just stay in the resort itself if you visit for a day or two. Hospitality of each and every staff member was awesome. All of them were just one call away. One and only con is if you are driving your own car and not a pro in driving in hilly area, it may get difficult to take the car up to the resort from main road.

I stayed at the Ambady Estate for one night, to be very precise when I read there was no fan or no AC I was hesitant, however I went ahead and still booked the same, But trust me one will not need one. The location is amazing. From the rooms to the food to the hospitality all above par. They have few cottages and one is allocated having spacious, clean and amazing rooms. Once we reached we were served with a cup of Spice tea which was totally refreshing. They have their own tea plantation, spice plantations and vegetable gardens, so all the more flavors in everything one eats there. The staff were very helpful and available whenever needed. One can roam around within the tea estate with leisure. In food every thing was delicious I being a foodie can vouch for that. The sight seeing places are within proximity of the Estate making it more accessible. Over all an amazing experience Definitely a highly recommenced place at Munnar ...

Ambaddy Estate is one of the best places to stay near Munnar. The place is 9 KMs before Munnar town which makes all the nearby sightseeing locations easily accessible. Ambaddy Estate has a plantation area spread over 75 acres where you can have small trekking experience and also enjoy the lush green surrounding of which various type of birds are another beautiful part. Food was good and of reasonable price. As a suggestion I think some indoor games/board games could be introduced in a certain play area. Though there is ample space for playing badminton etc. But during rains indoor games would be preferred by the guests. Overall, there are no complaints, the place is good and if you are a person who enjoy nature with all its greenery, this is a must stay. And even if you are not a nature-lover still just give it a try I am sure you will not regret. Happy travelling friends!! :)

First of all, the pictures shown on net are exactly portraying the property, so if you are liking the pics, you should definitely visit it. The property has only 8-10 cottages in such a huge area, thus ensuring that the guests get their privacy. The place is surrounded by dense forests and spice estates of the owner. Each cottage has separate open area outside, with 2 chairs and tables. Cottages are large, with wooden furniture and interiors (giving antique look), they are cosy, hospitality is awesome, food is cooked fresh every time, so it takes 40-45 minutes time for preparation and it is delicious. The whole property will give you a relaxed stay where you can feel the serenity of the environment, total silence with only the sound of tree leaves moving with air currents. Lastly, for me, it will always be the only option to stay while in Munnar.

Beautiful place, scenic view, good food, good service. Must see the estate by trekking ... 125 acres estate with 75 acres cardamon plantatiion ... Saw at least 15 different types of birds. The cicadas chirping in the evening is mind blowing ... Overall very good stay.

It was great stay with my wife in ambaddy estate. Hotel is good for couple travellers, only thing is that it is 10 km far from Munnar town. Hotel staff is also very supportive. You can enjoy the nature near by you. Breakfast and dinner is also good. Variety of food is available.

The Ambady Estate was neat and clean. Staff was cordial. Rooms were neat and clean. Natural surroundings make this place a real good place to stay in.

It was an amazing stay. If you looking for peace and nature, this is the place. Friendly staff and good food as well.

It's very difficult to say anything negative about this place. Excellent location, great scenic view, spacious and clean rooms (cottages), courteous staff and good food. What else you need. Right from the time we entered the place till the time we left, the staff helped us like anything and had smile all the time. We were travelling with a small kid but never faced any difficulty. At the back of the cottage there is a private lawn with a superb view. I would recommend everyone to consider this place if you are looking for a Ambady Estate in Munnar.

Really beautiful cottages placed on top of the hill. By evening one can see the fog flowing towards us because of the breeze. The food was too good. So was the hospitality. Will definitely come back again for the experience..

Excellent property. Only four cottages with a total of eight rooms. Really, surprised with the quality of food. Their welcome drink "spice tea"was amazing. Their own secret recipe. Very friendly staff. Located on 75 acre organic farm.

Excelllent Location, with nature. Good Fresh south indian food. courtious staff. only 1 problem. Credit Card and Debit Card swiping machines should be available with the Ambady Estate. Ambady Estate is worth reccommending to others.

It was very good experience staff was polite and helpful food was tasty and mainly organic as they grow their own vegetables and the rooms are very beautiful and location was very good. It was a good stay check it out
