The stay was good. Our stay was upgraded from Standard to Delux room for which we are thankful. Complimentary snacks in the evening is a good gesture. The hotel is very close to the Beach and churches. Mattancherry inhouse restaurant is also very affordable and serves tasty food. Just 3 suggestions. 1. Extend the timings of Breakfast and dinner to 10 AM and 10pm respectively. 2. Provide TVs in the rooms.

The rooms were neat and clean, though a bit compact. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious. Service was excellent and the staff made the stay very comfortable. The pool was well-maintained and the location was convenient. But the highlight of our stay was definitely the food, both breakfast and dinner were some of the best I’ve ever had. Terrible Stay

Extremely bad experience. Terrible Stay. Ruined my whole Kerela trip as it was the final stay. AC didn't worked whole night. No one bothered even after complaining 2 times. Actually no staff was even there to listen. It was an old empty house sharing wall with graveyard. The hotel disconnected room phone after 9 pm in the night. No one to take your order for the food. I had 1 year old kid with me that's why I had to check-in here otherwise I would not had spent the night here. Graveyard plus empty hotel is the night makes it extremely scary. MMT should review this property. Washroom was not clean. Potty was left in the toilet. I am seriously disgusted and scared with this property

We stayed at the Amritara Poovath for the Independence day weekend. Once we checked into the hotel, the view from our sea view suite recharged us. Note that the property is a renovated version of a 380 year old Colonial Bunglow and has bespoke 9-10 rooms. Ms. Jia was very hospitable and ensured we were taken care of. The breakfast spread at the hotel was very lavish and had a lot of options to choose from. Our transfers to and from the airport and the city were arranged from the hotel and the condition of the cabs were good. Damp musty rooms causing allergy

sneezing fit, fever, stuffy nose, watery eyes, throat irritation is what we got a the very damp, musty, claustrophobic, window less room we were in. our Munnar holiday is spoilt due to ill health caused at Amritara. They seem to have no sense of saving water either. sink tap for 5 minutes and shower for 10-15 minutes has to be run before you can expect hot water. To add to our woes, so.ething tripped and we enjoyed ded up without taking a much needed hot watershed last evening. The staff definitely needs professional training- while they may be well meaning Heritage property, though beautiful, needs to work on the damp musty rooms. The Chef and the breakfast were great! The ONLY bright spot during our stay! Also the property shares a wall with the Dutch cemetery, which could be an issue with some guests. Given that we are on medication during the rest of our holiday, we seek due compensation.

Set in an calm and serene atmosphere this place is a must visit place for anyone who wants to take a break from the busy life and be at peace for a while. The food is amazing and staffs are very friendly and helpful. Beach is 5-10 mins walk nearby and is so beautiful with shipyard near to ocean. familyA well kept dutch bunglow right by the fort kochi beach. Traditionally done rooms and bathrooms were neat and clean. Common areas with interiors giving a colonial feel. Nice open dining area, they set the table well for the whole family to dine together. Kids had a lot of fun and relaxing time in the small pool. Food was customised to suit everyone's tastebuds. Both the traditional kerala dinner and continental breakfast were very well done and presented. All staff were very welcoming and quick to act in any request.

Hotel next to a cemetery

Had visited fort kochi for a couple of days with my family after having a very pleasant holiday at munnar and kumarakom. I believe the hotel misrepresented to travellers by not mentioning that the hotel is right next door to the dutch cemetery with 104 graves a few feet away from the room in which you are going to sleep at night. Also the total inability to open room windows which overlook the cemetery wall should have been mentioned upfront on the booking page so that the traveller can make an informed choice. I would have never gone ahead with the booking had i known this. Also, if the room lights are not turned on, the room is almost pitch dark even during the day due to absence of natural light. A photo of the room window with lights off during the day and the outer view is attached to this review. Totally not worth the price we paid for the room. If you wish to stay in a heritage hotel there are many other hotels nearby in the vicinity with the absence of nearby graves and a better view. Was a total spoiler at the end of the holiday in kerala and my health deteriorated during my stay at this hotel as well maybe due to the negative energy. Will never stay at this hotel again next time i visit fort kochi.

Please be informed that you booked your accommodation for Standard room and we have not advertised any view for the Standard room and the same was allotted for your stay. Initially you processed your reservation for one night and next day you had extended your stay for second night as well. We would have appreciated if you would mentioned about any discomfort during your stay. Fort Kochi as a destination is known for its marvellous architecture which offers a sense old world colonial charm. The Dutch Cemetery is in close vicinity and is one of the oldest European cemetery in India, moreover it’s the reflection of the colonial parts of Kochi.
