Aranya Nivas ( KTDC)

It is a beautiful property nested inside the tiger reserve. The property is showing signs of its age and needs some work to keep it pristine which i believe is ongoing. The game room was in ruins and can use a lot of help to keep it in decent condition. The reserve closes down at 5. 30pm and you will be practically locked in at the resort hence a decent supply of game room amenities are useful for guests who stay more than one night. The bar had a very limited choice of beers and they could hardly serve us anything to eat at the bar, all we could get was a plate of french fries and an omelet that too with a lot of persuasion. The buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner were nice. Cycles were provided for an early morning ride within the park before the guests arrived for boating which was really nice. As a whole, it was a nice location and a beautiful property which screams upkeep.

Good place to stay if you are looking for forest adventure the Aranya Nivas ( KTDC) is located inside the periyar tiger reserve, so pols carefully place your plan for booking accordingly, as entry inside the tiger reserve is not allowed after 5. 30pm and before 6am

Location is awesome, inside of the periyar reserve forest, thekddy. Very costly in regards to facilities given by ktdc. Boating in the lake should have been complimentary with Aranya Nivas ( KTDC) but they are taking same charge along with the outside tourists.

Theakkedy is one of the best tourist destinations in kerala. Aranya nivas is the most preferable place for tourists to stay and do curise to see the wild animals. Elephents, deer, wild bears, basins are plenty in this natural vegetation. Dont miss it.

the property is good. located in middle of the tiger reserve. It has direct access to periyar lake. Food is good. Both breakfast and dinner buffet had good spread. Only thing is the rooms need maintenance. The rooms are clean and spacious

Location was excellent specially the periyar lake view. Stay was comfortable n cosy. Staff had excellent behaviour. Only the food menu was a little boring and buffet was a compulsion. During our stay we had no choice for ala carte.

Excellent property and a great stay ! the property is in the middle of the forest just 50 steps away from the lake. The staff is very friendly. Only one thing to be noted is that you can not get out of forest area after 5. 30 pm

Very well located establishment. Clean and tidy rooms. Courteous staff. The establishment should include the information regarding the post 1800 hrs curfew inside the reserve.

Stay was good and staff was very friendly and they arranged boating tickets for us and while coming to food it was not up to expectations, rest stay was good enjoyed.

Location v nice, rooms could be more spacious, food was good. They were accommodative and gave us an early breakfast. Hotel should org-anise early morning safari.
