Arudhra Residency

Why do we go to Chidambaram? To See Natarajar and spend time at Ponnambalam. This guest house is situated right at the temple entrance on east Gopuram the shortest way to Ponnambalam. Just climb down the stairs and you straightly enter east Gopuram entrance. Facilities of the guest house was greater than the price charged. I could See some negative reviews, but they are unjustified as the price is very low. You get what you pay for. No parking, so you have to Park in the main Road. It is a hassle if u are worried about your car. But for train traveler no problem at all. No Arudhra Residency in the guest house, you have to go to the main Road. I will stay here again every time I visit Chidambaram in the future. If you are a minimalist and don't care for too much luxury, go for this place but if you or your family needs a posh comfortable stay, better to look somewhere else.

My overall experience was good. However, initially I reserved a single NON AC room. It was in the basement without natural light, had a nauseating odor and no shower. After the first night, I upgraded to a ac room on the second floor. This made my experience much more pleasant! The room was well lit, spacious and comfortable. Overall, I found the staff friendly and helpful, but don't expect a five star experience. The best part about the Arudhra Residency is it's proximity to the temple, which is a 1 minute walk.

The Arudhra Residency is located very close to the Eastern entrance to the Nararajar kovil and good eating places nearby. The room is comfortable but bathroom is too narrow and not comfortable and also the air condition draining water into the bathroom keeping it dirty wet. Seems they haven't replaced or washed the mat outside the bathroom for several months and there is thick accumulation of dirt. No restaurant but they get items like coffee and refreshments from neighborhood cafe. Overall it's okay stay.

The stay was good as it is super close to the temple. What i wish we had known was that the residency had no in-house restaurant, though you will find a few outside. I did have another issue with hairs being found on the bedcover and pillows which when intimated to the receptionist, they changed it. But, this was unhygienic. The toilets can be in better condition too. The staff is very courteous and we had no issues with them. Overall a decent stay.

Excellent place to stay with such close proximity to the chidambaram temple, just few steps to the main entrance of the temple. Very friendly desk and staff. Not a 5 star 4 star ambience if that's what you look for. However, the best place for 1 or 2 day stay visiting chidambaram. You will have to let your vehicle parked at the municipal area though, as being right on the sannadhi street, no entry or parking of vehicle allowed inside the street.

This is my 3rd time here at arudhra residency. The Arudhra Residency is clean, neat and well maintained with friendly staff. It would hardly take 3 mins walk to visit the sanctum of thillai nataraja from the Arudhra Residency as it is located right next to the east gopuram. Hot water is available only between 5 am till 10 am. No lift facility. One needs to climb around 15 steps to reach the room. Room service is very good

We stayed in a std ac double room the room is compact. Suitable for couple & a child the room is neat & clean. Bath room is clean they provide hot water from morning 5 am to 9 am the Arudhra Residency is very near to the entrance of east sannanadhi the Arudhra Residency is not having restaurant adayar anandha bhavan(a2b) is very near & food is very good. We had a very nice darshan & stay

If you are visiting the chidambaram temple, then this property is just 25 meters from the main entrance. The rooms are basis, as can be expected in a economy Arudhra Residency, but sheets are clean and the air conditioning works. Krishnan, the front desk employee is experiences, informative abed belpful. The room boys are eager to serve and please

Most convenient location, if you wish have early, late or even day-long darshan. Barely 1 step and you are inside the premise.

We took two family rooms for 7 persons. Family rooms are spacious and apt for the travelers to temple. Main drawback is parking. No parking available for guests. To be Park in road and to be pay parking fee for road parking. Also there is no restaurant, but nearby there is a good Saravanabhavan. Rate is too high.

Overall the room was good, close to the temple. However hot water is available only between 4 AM to 7 AM.

Property is very close to the temple. Front desk person guides us politely. Room also good. Two issues found. 1. Bath place is very small. 2. No car parking
