Avadale Thekkady (Stag Groups Not Allowed)

Place situated behind kumily bus station just as soon as u enter kumily. Access road can be better, poor narrow road. Resort situated in dead end of the road. Hotel as such is good amid-st a mini forest landscape. Staff are friendly, food can be better especially breakfast was not good and had terrible taste. Dinner was okay. Our rooms dint have ac, forgot to check while booking, aug month is quite warm even with fans, so better opt for ac rooms. Toiletries u get only if asked and that too limited items. House keeping good. We checked out early and de exempted the breakfast charges which was kind gesture. Appreciate the front desk for this. Surroundings more like residential area so one will not get a hill station experience.

Avadale thekkady is located off the boundary of periyar tiger reserve. That makes its location very serene but a little off the route from major markets in downtown kumily. However, it is a short 10 min walk from the bus stand. We were greeted by mani and were helped throughout our stay by him by giving us suggestions for local places to explore. The rooms are spacious and basic. It would have been good if there was another place to relax except the bed and two chairs and if there was a table of sorts to keep our things. The lunch they offer is nice but the breakfast is very basic. Overall, a nice stay for the budget and would recommend others.

Excellent place to stay in thekkady. Very well maintained. 10/10 for cleanliness and hygiene. Rooms have basic amenities including tv, hot water etc. A small dining place serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Food is tasty and there is sufficient variety in the buffet. Staff are very courteous and helpful. Kuntal & mohsin (front desk) were very helpful. Our vehicle was not able to reach the Avadale Thekkady (Stag Groups Not Allowed) due to some construction activity on a connecting road. They arranged to pick us and drop us to & from the main road in a small auto at their cost. Many birds were sighted there.

A decent place for couple of nights. Location is quiet interior from the main road & not a wide road to get to. Accessible via car for sure but needs careful driving. Not allowing in-room dining was a big -ve. Understand the reasoning but given the cold weather and when you want to be all tucked in enjoying a hot meal - u cannot experience that. Food was fine. Can definitely improve but that charges were very nominal so fine with that. Apart from that all aspects were good and fine.

Finding Avadale Thekkady (Stag Groups Not Allowed) was difficult as google take us to wrong place, add to that reference phone no given is not the Avadale Thekkady (Stag Groups Not Allowed) local no, land line number no one bother to attend it, it took us an hour to find the place taking help of some local person. Complimentary breakfast not that great, it needs improvement by adding variety and buffet otherwise every thing is excellent

Staff was very helpful, and rooms are brand new and quite clean. Helped us in booking jeep safari as well. There was a road construction going on and they managed all the luggage through some vehicles and managed everything. Apart from that the food is super delicious including pane-er and chicken. Must stay if you are in thekkady. Awesome place!

Very good Avadale Thekkady (Stag Groups Not Allowed). Food and service also good. Way to Avadale Thekkady (Stag Groups Not Allowed) has little narrow road for 600 mtr from main road. Parking facility inside Avadale Thekkady (Stag Groups Not Allowed) property.

My stay at avadale was quite satisfactory. Food was good. Also rooms were pretty much clean and spacious

Pros - the room space and garden area is very nice. Evening rain view makes it awesome. Hotel staff gesture was nice. Buffet dinner was tasty and inline with north indian taste.
