Avondale Cottage | River-view Rooms

Our stay was extremely disappointing. The room had a persistent bad odor, and the food quality was unacceptable. When we contacted the resort to express our concerns—especially since this was a rare one-day vacation for us—the management was unhelpful and refused to issue a refund. They claimed that refunds are only handled by the booking website. When we raised the issue of poor food quality, we were told to "get food from outside" if we didn’t like it. This level of service and attitude is unacceptable.

Not so happy. Not worth for what I have paid. No wifi / Tv at room. These are basic. Lights are not working properly. Need attention in over all Maintainance. Friendly staffs.

Care takers speak only hindi. No responsibility from them over the guests. They prefer to have drinks at night. The surroundings are full of empty bottles and trash. rooms are not cleaned properly. got a blanket with blood stains. Bed sheets were not washed. towels were not washed. full of dust in the room. horrible experience. all the photos shown here are fake.

We booked a couple friendly room from ****** and after payment is done and I contacted the property they said it’s not couple friendly ...! They told it’s been used by bikers ...! And ****** customer service once I contacted they apologiesed and told me they will talk to the property and refund us ...! Later after few days they said property is not willing to refund ...! Cheating people by providing wrong caption for the property and looting the hard earned money ..! My money is gone but writting this if it could help out some one

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is a silent place where you can enjoy your time with friends and family. Food options could have improved more.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location is unbeatable, it is a bit far from Munnar town, but the drive is worth it. The staff were exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect during my stay. The rooms were decent—clean and comfortable, though not overly luxurious. The facilities were very good, offering everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The food was decent. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

The staff is very polite and the place is good. We stayed in tent. Everything good but for couples it is a little uncomfortable due to the common bathroom

There is badminton, carrom, hammock swing, and walk to river, kept us pretty much occupied and close to nature!!rooms condition were fine with hot water, ordered dinner was tasty, breakfast ok

To start with, there was no WiFi provided in the room, which in this day and age is unacceptable, especially when they claim to offer all modern amenities. On top of that, the room had a broken window, which let in cold air and noise, making it impossible to relax. The room itself was in horrible condition—dirty, unhygienic, and poorly maintained and a strange smell lingered in the air. The washroom was even worse: it didn’t have a functional door lock, which was incredibly uncomfortable and inconvenient. The final straw was the rude and unprofessional staff. They clearly didn’t care about the guests’ experience. This resort was a complete disaster from start to finish. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, even for a short stay. Look elsewhere if you want to enjoy your vacation without unnecessary stress and frustration.

Overall a good stay. Rooms are clean. But all the staff don't know tamil or malayalam or english. They know only hindi. That is difficult to have a conversation with them and ask them for help.

Worst Experience .Rooms are not clean. well.Tv not working.lights, switches,area not good.Ac not working.Food not good.only two north indian boys are there for all.Food is very expensive.
