Azaya Beach Resort

My review for Azaya Beach Resort (ABR), stay Feb 2023, room type Pool Suite Summary: ABR is a beautiful property with easy beach access. ABR looks and feels premium, with lots of greenery, cleanliness, and a warm decor. Perfect for one night stay, or for an event. For a 5 star resort, it underperforms compared to its peers but not grossly disappointing. Before arrival: ABR sent an email querying our requirements. It was a warm gesture. The only caveat is, none of our requests that we placed through the "help us enhance your stay" link was entertained. We did call in to request for car pick-up which they obliged. Also, they let us check in early which was appreciated as well. Of note: the property was mostly unoccupied on the day we stayed in. Check-in: Warm, quick, efficient. What was conspicuously missing was the routine welcome greeting with a brief rundown of the property, services offered etc. A standard answer for all the queries was "scan the barcode provided in the room". This answer was inconsiderate for 2 reasons: (1) barcodes are printed in 2x2 inches size and pasted in 2 locations of the room, both of which we couldn't locate in the first hour (2) the information available on scanning the barcode was grossly inadequate. Room: We stayed in a pool suite, which was nice. The room was beautiful, as seen in the stock picture. Everything worked. The TV lacked modern tech which seems to be standard these days, but we didn't miss it. Room service was slower than expected. Property: ABR is beautiful and colourful. It's a stretch layout longitudinally, extending all the way up to the beath. There's a reasonable amount of walking involved within the premises. For a 5-star resort, few items should be highlighted though: * Of the 4 onsite restaurants, La Concha is the only one worth mentioning. The food is good but not out of the ordinary. Cocktails are average. Lynx bar is one floor up. So, dinner can be a bit noisy. You can skip Blue Iris (beach restaurant). Cerulean is a cute outlet next to the swimming pool. * Swimming pool is gorgeous. It apparently stays open till 8pm, but poor lighting renders it unusable after sunset. It's funny though that the pool area is very well lit after 8 pm. Since the pool seems to be their show stopper, I would have expected a more elaborate lighting. * The gym is ok. Recreation area is useless. It doesn't have anything to keep an adult or a kid engaged for more than a few minutes. * There were no resort-level group activities, at least on the day we stayed (weekend). If there were, we didn't know about it, and this should explain the level of communication. Other than pool, beach, and a volleyball court, nothing to keep you entertained. Location: ABR is located in Benaulim in South Goa. It is a quiet neighborhood, but things-to-do list in this area is pretty short. Have a car or a scooter in case you plan on stepping out of the resort for food/visit etc. Checkout: * The checkout process was smooth and efficient. Minor billing error which didn't require any correction. * Restaurant waiter offered some discount on food (without any solicitation) which the front desk didn't honour as the restaurant waiting-staff are not authorized to offer discounts. Apparently, the waiter was offering such a discount to please the guest. * The final checkout bill was handed to me only after I inquired about it. The paper I got is a tax invoice without any mention of the payment received. My rating: 4/5

I don't usually write reviews but the staff at azaya went above and beyond and to not acknowledge their excellent service would be a disservice. Rooms are well-appointed, modern and tastefully done. Rooms and bathrooms are also large and very spacious. The pool is the centerpiece of the entire property literally and in terms of its visual oomph. But the clincher here is the location. An extended walkway (essentially a beach sand path) led from literally our door to the water. A walk of 150m or so. The beachside bar - blue iris - is beautifully positioned to help you enjoy the sea and the views. The beach itself is one of the cleanest and least crowded in goa. Its lively but nowhere near crowded. But also not dead. Just the right balance. The water is great to walk into and is a very gradual gradient till about chest level. The lifeguard station is right in front of the Azaya Beach Resorts beach front. The food is great. Breakfast was a great spread. Lunch is overkill and we had no more room for dinner. Very very family-friendly. They go out of their way to accommodate child related food requests. And always with a smile. The entire property is tastefully done up. Colorful but not garrish. The fantastic service and the equally fantastic beach are two major reasons why you should stay at azaya!

We visited with our 1 year old infant and couldn't have got any better resort than this. Everything was perfect including the location, the staff, the amenities, the pool and more. The location is just on the beach and very convenient when you're travel-ling with a baby. There are multiple shacks nearby. The staff of the resort is super courteous and always smiling. They helped us out with specific requests we had including arranging a crib for our infant, preparing baby food. They were also very thoughtful in terms of providing bottles of chilled water when we were relaxing near the pool. All the staff is always greeting and offering to help carry any bags that we might have from shopping. The amenities are perfect: they have an awesome library with a great sunset view of the beach. The pool is big with ample of sunbeds and lounging sofas for relaxing. There is poolside service as well. The breakfast buffet was nice with lot of options at the live counter. All in all we had a great stay and are definitely coming back. Full 5 star experience!

Property is excellent. Very beautiful and tidy. Rooms are large. I booked a room with patio, and don’t be confused with the property pics, private garden and room size is very big. Food was good but prices are high as this is a five star Azaya Beach Resort. Staff was very well behaved and room service was fast, while rooms are located a bit far from reception. Property is at the beach and they have a nice bar at the beach. Shacks are very beautiful. South goa beaches and water are far clearer then north. For feed back for the Azaya Beach Resort i want to say that there are two things: the texture of walls in the room are very rough and sharp, my wife got a cut in hand while trying to got a hold from wall. Second, fans are a bit noisy and needs maintenance. And third, rooms ac gets very low it might be centrally controlled and and even after setting the temperature higher it remains 19’c. These are little things can be ignored seeing the amenities they provide and location of the property.

Wow. What a vacation we had, thanks for make my trip for getting this accommodation much lesser than other websites (which i had to cancel and book here again. We had been to patio room, very very well maintained rooms, looks everything new. Very hygienic staff always on mask, makes you feel safe always (though tourist do not ware masks, breakfast spread was good, but starting for 3 nights, and continental spreads are same every day. Haha. Overall 5* rating, keep up the hygiene, we have made up to visit every time to azaya when in south goa. Not to forget, staff is very courteous and room service is also very good, not like others who have written bad reviews about room service (sorry, my personal opinion it was excellent and super quick, someone it delays a bit, it’s big property, one to have patience for those poor guys who run pillar to post to make you happy.

I visited azaya in the month of may24 with our little daughter and my wife who had very strict dietary restrictions. We stayed at the premium pool villa which was a sight to behold. The villa was huge with a big bathtub and huge private pool. Housekeeping staff mr km took good care of us. The food was tasty and custom made as per my wife’s dietary restrictions. Mr prakash in the la concha took care of our dining needs and helped us is all way possible. He also arranged for a floating breakfast in our private pool. The staff are very gentle, welcome, helpful and friendly. Ms sanjana ensured that our entire stay right from airport pick up till we reached back home after 4 days was meticulously planned. Excellent must visit property. Very neatly maintained and well placed on the beach. Will visit again

Zumbrai beach is a secluded beach with azaya and taj properties only. So you have very less crowd and spaced out living. With more than a couple of shacks on beach plus it's own blue iris beach front dining, azaya is best in terms of location, food choices although their in-house dining is very expensive ( but that's expected) clean rooms, prompt responsive staff, thorough cleaning even with low occupancy ( inspite of christmas weeekend, great meeting room, play area, library, gym and spa. Even for weddings, it seems an ideal destination. Jammy's shack just outside the Azaya Beach Resort serves purely delightful food joecons shack further away towards tak property is also excellent ( walking 5 mins on beach) overall great stay but at a cost.

Azaya resort and their staffs are really good with worth a special mention of ms sanjana who was our duty manager during our stay. She was really helpful and helped us to sort a car related issue which was not even her responsibility. The room was really big with all amenities available and breakfast was equally good and spread was quite huge, though some variation would have make it better. The resort has a beautiful view of beach directly from the pool which was just awesome and the location will give you a feel of pvt beach. Just want to warn 1 thing, don't take car on rent from a guy called anthony (we got his contact from front desk, he is a fraud. We really enjoyed our stay in azaya, would love to come again.

Azaya is a perfect happiness to stay. Well maintained and friendly staff, amazing nature, private sea is best.

We booked the plunge pool room. The room is spacious and comfortable. The food quality at the resorts is very good but with limited options and a bit overpriced.

The stay was luxurious and well maintained with best staff. Hope to visit again soon! the place is the gateway for city rush and crowd to relax and recharge. No, done

Had an amazing time at the property. The room was amazing, only complaint was that the carpet in the rooms were sandy, apart from that we had an amazing stay at the resort. Will definitely be back

Beautiful location with very po

It was a pleasant stay at azaya, the staff is very kind and considerate. The beach access is pretty good, clean water, white sand.

The Azaya Beach Resort staff was courteous and the food was delicious. It's near to the beach and they have rooms with a private swimming pool too. Rooms are spacious and have all modern amenities.

Location is superb. Private beach is very bear by and very clean. There are water sports available as well. From room to pool and kids play area every place is very neat and clean. Food test is very good but one feedback is that same day and similar menu is boring. Each day should have different menu.

Location is nice and good for a family stay! service is good. A little expensive for a buffy set up but you will enjoy the time with family, so worth a visit.
