Backpacker Cowies, Mumbai

I've visited many places in India, and for the price, this hostel is excellent. The staff is extremely kind and helpful; they even assisted me at 10 PM in getting an Indian SIM card. The common areas are tidy and clean. During my stay, I had the upper bunk, and while the mattress was a bit too soft for my liking, that's just a personal preference. The shared kitchen is also very neat, and the common washrooms are clean, although there is some room for improvement. Overall, I've stayed here for three nights and have booked another night in a couple of weeks before my departure. As a solo backpacker, I highly recommend this hostel. I would rate it 8 out of 10. PS did I mention the location? You're in Colaba couple minutes walk to the Gateway Of India

Good location , high security stay and comfortable. We checked in early by 6am was able to use common area and sleep for a while. And fresh-up in common bathroom. Stay was clean and amazing with compliments and 3star Backpacker Cowies, Mumbai facilities .Bed was cozy and good enough for 1,2 days stay. They could provide one floor. Only this was missing . But overall stay was good. No complaints and would recommended to anyone this place. Loved it

I stayed in female dorm with around 6 others , this was my first solo trip and I was so terrified ! But this was the best decision I’ve ever made ! It was so safe , everybody was nice , I met amazing girls from Germany , and within India also. Very safe for solo female travellers !!! Will come again !!

This was my second time staying in Cowies. This is the best stay for female travellers. It's safe &clean. The best part is the location. Next to Colaba Street and within walkable distance from Gateway of India. The staff is very friendly & helpful.

location was outstanding, beds were comfy, linen was clean, washrooms were clean. all in all a great property. main dislike is that there's no air conditioned common area. big miss in Mumbai sweltering heat.

Stay is decent and at a very good location. It is budget friendly as well. We had a good time here.

The bathroom was clean , the bed was clean too , the room was clean too but there is no window and no balcony in room . The manager is helpful .

The location of the property is very convenient, on a quiet street walking distance from colaba causeway and gateway of India
