We stayed here for two nights in Ginger room and found it a very calming and peaceful place. The gardens are glorious and teeming with life - we loved watching and listening to the birds and insects. The room and bed were comfortable and sitting on the balcony was a pleasure. The bathroom is quite small and dark (and the shower didn't drain very well) but did the job. The food was a bit plain for our tastes so this would be an area for improvement. The staff were great and very helpful. The building is lovely and quirky, and the meditation room was a highlight. If we stayed again we would ask to stay in one of the end rooms such as Bamboo.

It is cheating business - extremely remote, no WiFi, no TV, huge number of staircases to be covered before entering the hotel, no attached bathroom. It is a disaster.

We stayed here for 2 nights at the emerald room. It was a surreal hospitality experience starting from the arrival welcome, to the breakfast and the meals. We recommend one must try the meditation room.

Aesthetically beautiful place, polite staff and fulfilling stay.

Although, the trip was good, hotel stay was nice, but too far from Gangtok town and road condition was very horrible. Above all the stay was good enough along with food. Before entering Gangtok, please contact with the hotel staff properly about the location.

Location of this hotel is very bad. It did not provide the accommodation as shown in the pic. Accommodation is very conjugated. I asked for a bed Tea which was given at 0700hrs taste was pathetic. Restaurant is not good. There is no water supply in toilet flush. Water supply in the birth room is in low pressure. Overall experience is bad. But I stayed there as I was with my family.

Good experience. Staff very friendly. Looks like ready any time. Location is good. 5 mnt walking to M. G road. Hotel have own parking space. Taxi or any car can be parked which is definitely an advantage. Worth for the money paid. Food is also good. They can cook as per your taste. We were two families. Enjoyed stay in Bamboo Groove.

It is in remote area . Rate is too high . No one in the hotel . Booked for 4 nights . Left after 1 night . Given phone numbers are also wrong

Lovely greenery, total peace and quiet, good host, good cook, rabbits to keep the little one engaged. Well conceived retreat. Only issue we faced was when I developed a sudden illness - severe gastroenteritis. To reach nearest medical store one has to book a car and it is half an hrs drive downhill. The flip side of a lovely far away location.

Very nice experiece all thigs are better like location, service, room cleaning, and behaviour of all staff are very good, if I can programme my second trip to Gangtok then I preferred this hotel again

Location is the best. Out of Gangtok town. Good staff. Kids friendly. Homely food. Only queen size bed available in all rooms. Bathrooms are really small. Would surely recommend bamboo Retreat. Overall a good experience.

Great views. Great staff. Excellent ambiance. Good and clean rooms. Good food. Enjoyed a very peaceful stay. Note that the place is 45 minutes from Gangtok.

Great place to stay. Fantastic management, lovely hospitality. Beautiful rooms and breathtaking views. It is slightly far, about 30 mins. From main Gangtok, if that is a criteria for you, though cabs are available, best if you ask the manager to arrange for one. Definitely, worth revisiting.
