Barefoot at Havelock

We stayed at the Barefoot at Havelock for 2 nights I. E. May 16th and 17th. The experience was simply brilliant. The property is right on the Radhanagar Bench (Asia's Best Beach as per Time Magazine). It has a lovely reception area (large log hut that also has a bar and a private area). The cottage are walkable from the reception. We stayed in a Nicobari Cottage which was quite comfortable. The restaurant is in close proximity to the reception/lobby. The cottages are well maintained and quite nicely personalised (we had our name board plus a handwritten welcome note). We were put up in the cottage no 8 which was a nice walk from both the reception area and the restaurant. The ambience is truly green with different varieties of plants and trees right on the property. We had rain the day we arrived so the bird activity was limited but the next day it was a treat right in the property. As mentioned already, from a location per se, the property is right next to the most popular beach in Havelock. The room and bathroom were clean and neatly maintained. Talking about food, breakfast was part of the deal and served to order. We also had lunch/dinner at the resort, this was a-la-carte. Food is good. The property has a bar for the ones interested right next to the reception area as already mentioned. They also have a SPA, which we did not get time to try out. The staff are friendly and ready to help as required. Mind you there is no Wi-Fi, TV, newspaper etc. We liked it that way for a change. Laundry service was prompt and reasonably priced. Pros: - Lovely Property. - Location. - Friendly Staff. Con: - Location (in case you want to have access to the rest of the Island). Net-net, an awesome property. Definitely recommend it if you are visiting Havelock.

Barefoot resort is a very unique and different resort. It lives up to its mission of ‘ being one with nature’. The resort is surrounded in the lush greenery giving a great glimpse of the natural beauty of the andamans. It is a 5 min walk to the beach. And the beach is absolutely lovely, long stretched, clean and out of this world. However there are a few things which need improvement. 1. The pathways in the resort are really bad. There are no proper roads, only gravel paths, which sometimes are difficult to walk on. 2. There is no lighting on the gravel paths which makes it really difficult for one to walk, especially after dark. The sun btw sets around 4:57 pm daily. Torches are not provided unless asked for. Walking with torch light is also inconvenient. As there is no room service, if one wants to visit the bar or go for dinner it is no less than a challenge. One cannot consider it an adventure as it is a recurring problem. 3. The rooms have no phones. Again seeing that many guests are older and may require assistance, it would be a good idea to at least have an intercom within the premise. 4. There is no food available after 9:30 pm as the kitchen closes, so guests must keep that in mind too. 5. The library is interesting, but lighting is extremely poor. All in all, it is a resort that’s quite good, but needs a lot of improvement. The next door taj resort exotica is much better lit and has golf carts available. Barefoot must not take itself so literally.

If there's something that i will never regret in life, that would definitely be booking a stay at barefoot. Me and my wife both wished that we could stay longer but unfortunately we couldn't. But there's always a next time. ) hospitality is something that you would readily notice and appreciate at barefoot. Right from how we were welcomed and treated and how the staffs helped us in terms of cab bookings, ferry arrangements and water activities, everything was good about this place. Located amid-st a forest with very tall trees and eco-friendly cottages, the stay by itself was a wonder. We were able to get so close to the nature and enjoy the early morning bird chirps and sounds as our morning wake up call. As their welcome board says, "stay active with us @ barefoot, they guide and help us with a list of activities for us to choose from and they did impress with whatever we decided. The treatment was royal and class apart and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. We also got to enjoy our evening at one of the world's best or finest beach (radha nagar beach, which was just a minute or two away from the property. There's no way that we are gonna try any other stay if we visit havelock again. )

It’s quite a pleasant getaway from the hassle of city life. Very eco-friendly. Food is good in their in-house restaurant as they usually use fresh produce. It’s quite challenging in the night as the rooms are little far away from the reception and restaurant. The lighting is very dim, they do provide torches but u hv to literally walk through jungle to go for dinner or lunch. There is no wifi or intercoms in the room and the reception is really bad. U hv to completely rely on your mobile network if u need anything, there is no room service as well. The beach is very very near so it’s really handy for a swim anytime before 5pm. It’s at the end of the island so it’s better to rent a vehicle. Staffs are very friendly and prompt in helping out with anything u ask. The only place where u’ll get wifi is the lounge and reception area. The whole concept is echo-friendly but the resort needs a lot of improvement at-least in terms of wifi in the room and the bumpy road to the resort.

Located at one of the most pristine beaches of the country this resort stands for utmost serenity. Ideal location for honeymooners and someone looking for unwinding from stressful life. The highlight of the resort was its location (adjacent to the best beach in Asia), its amicable staff with prompt service, eco friendly construction and ambience, aesthetically crafted rooms, restaurant and bar. The travel arrangement made were impeccable; right from arriving to departure from Port Blair were spot on. Not to miss out on the eco tours; snorkeling and trekking which is a must for anyone visiting this island. The snorkeling trip mesmerized us with the vast undiscovered sea life and beautiful corals. The rooms were spacious and well designed with all basic amenities; however priced on the higher side when compared to similar facilities in other tourist destination. The services were excellent.

At Barefoot you can experience Jungle+Beach. It is situated adjacent to RADHANAGAR beach. Radhanagar beach is the best beach in Asia. The hospitality we received here is excellent. We stayed at a wooden cottage (Room No-18). There will not be any Mobile network(except at Barefoot. (You need to go Radhanagar beach for Mobile network). There will not be any internet connection. There will not be any Television facility. You just relax here. The restaurant in the barefoot is awesome. We had delicious sea food. The breakfast is complimentary here. We enjoyed it. From Barefoot, we booked Scuba Diving. The instructors at Barefoot scuba diving are the best. The Scuba Diving experience will cost 6150/- per person. We have been given torch light at barefoot. It is a compulsory item after sunset. We enjoyed the sunset at Radhanagar beach.

Barefoot at Havelock is a verdant Jungle Resort on the famed Radhanagar Beach, which is simply beautiful, pristine white sands, plenty of flora and fauna and has the least lava rocks on beach in Havelock . . The Resort is beautiful, reconditioned cottages are well designed and self sufficient but have too few dim lights. Also the walking distance on an unpaved road from tented cottages to the reception/Bar is a bit tedious especially at night. Lighting is virtually non existent and too dim otherwise. The only annoying aspect of the resort is one has to enter reception and restaurant areas Barefoot, quite unnecessary. Otherwise no complaints, staff and service wonderful, excellent chefs, which is expected at high price range of Hotel.

We visited in September and originally we're worried we would see some bad weather. In the end it was perfect. Coming from Chennai, havelock was cooler and dryer, with max 15 minutes of rain each day. The resort felt empty, as if we had a crew of 15 working directly for the two of us. In comparison to some of the other resorts on havelock, barefoot is by far the best location, situated on the nicest beach. No worries about leaving in time before the early Andaman sunset or paying the high transportation price to get to the beach. The restaurant rates and selection were also better than nearby restaurants. We were very happy with our decision in the end, and were lucky to get such a great deal through make my trip.

Do not compare barefoot with the typical luxury resort. It is the location and the way the resort blends with nature that makes the resort unique. The resort can add some games, yoga/meditation center, etc for guests who cannot physically take part in treks and water activities.

This is perhaps the best place to stay in Havelock. The property is bang on the Radhanagar beach which is very clean and beautiful. The property is a nice resort which gives the feeling of being in a forest. The staff are courteous and well trained. Having no TV, internet and Mobile connection is actually a boon to provide digital detoxing to modern day polulation. One issue could be that the rates are high.

It was a good stay at barefoot and the highlight was the private access to the beach

Barefoot, one of the best resort to look forward for staying and make your travel truly memorable. True to its name can take a walk to radhanagar beach, havelock island. The ambience, the quality, food, hospitality and the courtesy staff makes it must stay at this place, if visiting havelock island. Recommend to stay this place.

Awesome location with private access to Beach. Yummy breakfast and great service. Liytle pricey though. Overall satisfied and recommend to stay.

Air ventilation was a problem.

this resort is one of its kind .. it does not hav intercom facilities or room services or modern interiors but the walk from the tents to reception, restaurant and Radhanagar beach is the best possible experience a resort can provide .. sweetest Pple at the reception and also in the restaurant.. very accommodating as well to customising food options .. bit on the expensive side but worth every penny spent here .. cab services in the resort is cheaper than cabs available at the jetty .. if I would ever return to havelock it would be to experience this Beauty again ♥️ added bonus is they hav a private path to radhanagar beach with life guard and evening tea provided at the beach ..

Couldn't have asked for a more relaxing holiday. The staff was extremely courteous, the food was delicious and the cottage was lovely. A few suggestions, the spa could be better in terms of the massage rooms, also maybe a few more games in the bar area. Will be back soon!

The resort stands very close to Radhanagar Beach. The resort is based on jungle theme. Starting from reception to restaurant, all are located in a separate hut. Our room (hut) was also separated from that area. So you have to walk through the nature frequently, that's a good point. Beach is also walkable. We were pleased by their hospitality. Food quality and service were very nice. Rooms were clean. We went for honeymoon purpose and we were satisfied by the service, this resort provided. Only negative point I want to make is it's a bit overpriced starting from room to food. And definitely you will not get any Internet, television and phone to connect to the outer world.

Close to radhanagar beach. Good food good service excellent staff. But too are very far from the reception and restaurant so one has to walk a lot. Away from the market and in the middle of the jungle Give you a feeling of staying in jungle Overall good experience

Our stay at Barefoot was really good. The rooms were very comfortable and even though like normal Barefoot at Havelocks there wasn't any room service, the whole experience was fantastic. The private beach of the resort was very beautiful and the staff was very friendly. The only glitch in the whole arrangement was that the scuba diving experience that we indulged in through the resort, lost all our photos under sea, which was disappointing. However, the overall experience was very good and would highly recommend this resort to others!

The staff is really courteous and efficient. Ambience of ever corner of the property has been nicely done. Restaurant, Bar and Laundry prices are reasonable. But they need to seriously consider enhancing pathway lights, installation of intercom and reviewing the bar menu for increased variety. Overall a memorable stay
