Bentes Lodge

Pros: the lodge is in the middle of forest (actual forest department land surrounds the lodge. The views of snow capped mountains are one of the best - you get to see both sunsets and sunrises hit the snow capped himalayan ranges (our visit was in early summer. The surrounding forests are rich with bird activity in the early mornings. The hosts and staff are really friendly and deeply care about your well being. The food available was simple but really tasty (we loved having the vegetarian food that they served. Cons: 1) given it’s slightly remote location, you have to rely on Bentes Lodge 4x4 vehicle to ferry you up and down from the closest motor-able road (around 10minutes) and you have to climb a good 25-30 steps to reach the Bentes Lodge. So this is not an ideal place for aged folks. 2) in addition room heaters are not available and only heated beds are available which are not the most comfortable.

I stayed at bent-es for 2 nights with my mother. It felt like we were staying at a beautiful kashmiri village home in the hills. The location is on a hill way above pahalgam main market. The road is muddy, narrow and weaves in-between the forest. The host, jamshed, will pick up the clients from the main market in his 4by4 truck and take them to bentes. The view from bent-es is unmatchable and unforgettable. If one likes silent, peaceful atmosphere, he/she will definitely enjoy the stay. The place is safe and there are nearby similar lodges, so no need to worry about that aspect. The host jam-shed and the cook mukhtar are pleasant, cordial people. The food is home-cooked and tasty. The interior of bentes and the services are wonderful. There may however be an issue with hot water. Otherwise, its an easy thumbs up to all other aspects. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will return to bentes soon.

This place is nestled away into the woods, far away from the hustle bustle of main town. The place is super clean, with very warm staff who cooked delicious food for us, lit bonfire in evenings and welcomed us as their own. The place is 600-700 m offroading from the main market. Your vehicle can go or you can ask the caretaker to pick you up. You can trek down 10 mins to reach the market or ask your driver/caretaker to drop you. The price point might make you feel it is a cheap stay but the place was super clean and worth every penny. If you want to go for luxury stay then this is not the place but if you want to enjoy mountain seclusion and yet a hygienic and clean stay then go for it. We were sceptical about the location but it is reachable and the views from the place are amazing.

Located in nature's lap..surrounded by scenic beauty.. Has all the amenities one needs while staying anywhere. The host is down to earth and will make you feel like home. The best part is the location of the property. After checking in we chose to go down to the market by walking through the woods alongside the magnificent Lidder river. The gush of the river is clearly audible from the property. The words are not enough to describe the beauty of the property. For nature lovers it's a perfect spot to embrace the beauty of the valley of sheperds, Pahalgam. However, bathrooms can be cleaner, as hard water stains make the bathroom look dirty. Also, the menu chart is oily and sticky and should be cleaned properly.

A must visit place indeed. The mesmerizing view from here will amaze you every single moment. The trickling sound of brooks nearby will reboot your mind. Need not to go for a sightseeing if you stay in this place. Very courteous staff and they cook amazing especially the chicken curry. You will feel like second home here. Overall great staff, ambiance, amenities and food. What else do you want. Couple of suggestion for improvement here 1. Though hot water facility is available in the morning, i would request for individual room geysor 2. Bathroom windows need to be closed 3. Need to have bonfire everyday 4. Need to have better toiletries

Quaint cottage next to a narrow spring. Can be reached either by car through a 15-minute mud road from the market or through a 10-minute shortcut on foot from the lavender park. The managers provide pick-up service from the market too but on request. The meals are simple but great. The rooms offer serene views of the snow-capped hills, and the common room has an excellent collection of fiction books. The hosts also own the palestine Bentes Lodge in the market which serves wazwan at reasonable rates. Mr ramzan and his relatives also have a volume of stories to share about the valley, with a smile.

It was our best stay in bentes lodge with my family of 2 kids. Rooms, location n cleanliness was perfect. Their hospitality were no match. They are just amazing. Mazeed bhai n jam-shed bhai. U guys are extra special and they know how to take care of their guests. The stay was as like my own home. And 1 more thing they are caring n responsible human beings. Some how my 1 day stay in another hostel was cancel-led due to some reason but jam-shed bhai helped me get room in their at no time. Thanks bent-es lodge for your extra ordinary services.

We three friends were here for two nights stay. They arranged our pick and drops without charging an additional penny. The location was little far from the main market but that worked really well given the picturesque location with amazing mountain views and snow covered landscapes. They served home cooked meals which were scrumptious. Wasim showed us beautiful path for a hike to beta-ab valley which was 8 kms walk but with beautiful views along the way. Highly recommended!

very good hospitality by Jamshed Bhai and maid Bhai. food is awesome cooked with love and Kashmiri spices. they welcomed us with Kahwa and warmth. must go for it. sight scene of the property can't be explained in words. simply fabulous and breathtaking beauty. 😍

We stayed there for two nights. It was a very pleasant experience. The property has excellent view that we enjoyed thoroughly. They also helped us in pick up and drop in their vehicle.

Great natural beauty, ambience and view surrounding the property. Helpful staffs to take care of your needs. If you are looking for an offbeat location this is the place for you. It would be great if the road was better and electricity was better, but the pros surpass the cons for this place

The lodge is absolutely lovely to stay. The food is delicious and home made. The rooms are cosy and the hosts are warm. The view is especially wonderful!

Had a great time here. Even extended the stay for a day. Very well maintained property with homely vibes. Food is a bit average but the staff itself is very accommodating and helping. Location is a bit off but that's the charm of it.

Very homely lodge with excellent service and situated in the midst of nature. Fresh food is cooked by the caretaker for every meal. They guided us on places to see and walking trails. Last 1 km connectivity to Bentes Lodge is a little difficult but the Bentes Lodge arranged to pick up and drop off till the nearby road. Highly recommended for young people and nature enthusiasts.

The lodge is like another home for the guests. The staff is very warm, welcoming and caring.
