MPT Betwa Retreat, Orchha

Our 2 night stay in a swiss tent at betwa retreat, orchha was pleasant and comfortable. The place is being maintained very well, something which one doesn't normally expect of govt run MPT Betwa Retreat, Orchhas. Tent and the attached modern toilet were clean and sanitized. Clean towel and bed linen were provided. Electrical gadgets like kettle, refrigerator and tv with cable connection were in perfect working condition. However, wifi signal inside the tent being extremely weak, we had to depend on our personal mobile data. Elsewhere in the retreat such as restaurant and reception area, good wifi signal was available. The retreat is situated at the best possible location in orchha. River betwa ghat is barely 20 meters away just across the road. Most of the monuments for which orchha is famous, are at walkable distance, the beautiful cenotaphs (chhataries) being only 100 meters away. The retreat has a nice, clean, air-conditioned restaurant serving a few of veg and non-veg north indian, chinese and italian dishes. Food was extremely tasty. One can request less oily and less spicy food according to one's taste and preference. The staff was very courteous, considerate and efficient. We would like to thank mr. Jag-pal in particular for the loving manner in which he would take our order and serve us meals. Once when i felt like having a light meal, they were considerate enough to prepare and serve dalia for dinner even though it did not form part of their standard menu. Overall, it was a memorable stay and i am definitely going to stay at this resort whenever i happen to visit orchha again.

An ideal location on the banks of betwa river which provides ample opportunity for rest, relax, adventure and religious tourism. An ideal combination rarely available elsewhere. The staff at the resort were extremely courteous and all out to cater for your smallest needs. We got the cottage of our choice overlooking a clean, blue swimming pool and the meals were simple yet sumptuous. Best part the guide of mp t who accompanied us. The handicraft and handloom shop 'mrignayanee' situated right at the entrance is a delight to ladies looking for classy stuff at fixed and reasonable price. An experience worth every penny spent and calls for revisit.

Swiss tents were a pleasant surprise. I hadn’t opted for them the last time i had stayed here. But it’s a good option. The property is lush green with gardens and trees all around. Staff is hired by mp t on contract so they do take notice of travellers needs (intending to bust here some myths about government administered stays. We had ac malfunction issue and it was addressed immediately. Just across the road in front is the betwa river bank so the location is satisfying too. Just that there isn’t enough for kids. So families will have to bring play items for kids to keep them entertained.

Location - located on the banks if the betwa river, it provides the most scenic views early in the morning. The roads around the property are empty and ideal for morning jog. The property boasts of a well, maintained beautiful garden and kush green lawn which is an absolute delight for guests who love plants & flowers food - tasty food. Breakfast buffet spread is reasonable and sumptuous. The, waiters are courteous and response time is reasonable hygiene - the tents need a makeover and washing. The one we were staying in smelt as if upkeep was not done for a long time.

Mpt betwa is a jewel of accommodation set amid-st thick wooded tress overlooking the betwa river. All places of tourist interest are walking distance away. The rooms and tents are gracefully done up, neat, fresh linnen with very hygienic washrooms. The staff is utmost courteous and professional. Orcha trip is incomplete if you haven't stayed at mbt betwa. Thank you mp tourism and mmt for arranging our stay there. Colonel and mrs harsha nagar. The resort is at a good location near betwa river. You can come out of the resort and directly go to the river for sightseeing. Rooms are of good quality. Didn't expect this kind of cleanliness from mptdc. There were all kinds of toiletries and room heater facility in the room. We stayed in ac room which are well cleaned, and loaded with all kinds of facilities. Food quality in the restaurant can be improved and i would give it 3/5. From an availability perspective everything was available. All in all a good place for families with kids.

To start with, what left a memorable mark on us was the hospitality,simplicity and warmth of the staff at MPT BETWA RETREAT Orchha which made us overlook certain deficiencies as well. Since i sincerely want MPT Betwa Retreat to be the best resort in terms of popularity , would definitely like to suggest certain improvements : 1. The towel and blanket were worn out and torn. 2. The Swiss tent we booked was shabby both from outside and inside so need an overhaul. 3. Lighting inside was dim. 4. Food could also be improved.

Checkin was swift and whole staff was vey supportive. Room service was quick and dine food was very good. Some issue in staying in tent= 1. Tent is not good option during winters as felt more cold in tent as well as tent has some peeking spaces which allow air to enter. 2. Bad smell like sewage comes inside toilets of tent. 3. Laundry system. Seen bathroom towels and linen wash in betwa river. Should have proper laundry system inside premise.

It is a beautiful property on the river side giving an absolutely amazing experience

We had booked a tent in property. We were unaware of the heat wave which was at its peak in the month of may. The tents are not suitable for summers. Please don't book them. The staff at the MPT Betwa Retreat, Orchha were very helpful. Mr. Mishra the manager was very helpful. The property needs maintenance. When compared to the other mp t properties this is average. Location is good close to all the places of interest.

Stay at chitrakoot & maihar is excellent whereas at panna & orachha is good

Mpt betwa retreat is one of the best property to stay on a budget trip to orchcha. Both the location and view of the property are excellent. Staff is very courteous and professional. As a group we enjoyed our one day stay. Food was good too

I have traveled with my family. Very nice ambiance with friendly staff.

Calm and serene ambience with helpful and cooperating staff. Very close to historical places like ramraja temple, jahangir mahal and raja mahal worth visiting at orchha. Must visit!

Excellent place for rejuvenation. Very hygienic and neat and clean. You can feel like hill station. Resort manager mr dandotya and staff specially jack is so co operative and helpful. 100 % value of money
