I stayed at Mochipara room for 3 nights .At Shyam bazaar, there is no other Hotel of this stature. The bungalow has a very ambient old world charm with a small but excellent souvenir shop.The rooms are thoughtfully decorated as per their names. The place is replete with books-In room,Dining room as well as souvenir shop.It is a veritable heaven for booklovers. Highly recommended

Wanted to stay to enjoy the old north Kolkata vibes and the property did not disappoint! However the place is pretty small and has only 5 rooms! Food is good and so are the staff ever so helpful. Overall I likes this experience in my own city š

Atmospheric oasis in the heart of Shyambazar

This my third stay since 2019. The rooms are as lovely, atmospheric and clean as they were when the establishment opened. Staff are a rare combination of natural, attentive and caring; if anything they have grown in confidence and sophistication. The included breakfast is generous and superb especially the Bengali offering (best aloo paratha on the planet!) There is an air of casual elegance, bordering on luxury about the place and it is a perfect oasis in the midst of a charming but raucous, Shyambazar. Most highly recommended.

coupleWhile i appreciated the charm, the location is not the best. The room was dusty, faucets had rust and the balconies couldnāt be accessed because of the pigeons staying with us. At night there was too much noise tricking from the street outside making it difficult to get any sleep. However the netflix and breakfast in bed makes up for some of it.

two points to note mainly 1. i had a suite room with a balcony attached . there was a pigeons nest in that balcony and bird droppings all over the balcony floor . not only does this make the space look dirty but also it poses a serious health risk 2. ā the space above the bathroom door was very dirty as if it had not been cleaned for weeks

One of the best stays and experiences we ever had, we choose to stay one day in kolkata to explore the city and were looking for something which gives the essence of the city and this place is so apt and charmingly beautiful that you will feel not leaving your room at all. The interiors are aesthetic and there is great level of detailing even in the tiniest of things. The location is also very peaceful and easily accessible. Also the complimentary breakfast is a treat to have. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to taste the old world charm of calcutta.
