Candlehut | Rooms in a Homestay

Excellent place, great ambiance. No doubt to rate 5/5.

To summarise liked : 1. Breakfast was really good. Got dos a and sambar. 2. View is great from the homestay and good enough space to relax with friends outside the house. Cons: 1. No lunch/dinner facility 2. There was no toiletries provided. 3. No amenities like tv or carrom board or anything. So it's just a house with rooms and chairs and bed. 4. Geyser is only in one room out of 3 rooms. There's a lot of mosquitoes everywhere and no mosquito repellent. I would suggest this only if your budget is tight and you want a great view from the stay

Worst stay ever in my lifetime. Faced series of issues. 1. 200 metres before the homestay anti social elements were boozing & blocking the roadway. When i asked them to give way, they in-turn started harassing us and peeping inside the car and commenting. Worst and unsafe for women and children 2. Ac is not functioning, it is stuck at 28 degree celsius. When i asked about this to the owner he told us to increase the fan speed and sleep, owner have zero empathy. 3. Lot of mosquitoes inside the room, minimum 50 mosquitoes were there. 4. No hot water facility, have to take bath in cold water 5. Overall a nightmare

This is almost a hidden gem which shouldn't be missed at all. No description can match the excitement that you feel upon arriving here. It's the most picturesque setting you can imagine alongside a backwater.

This place is in nileshwar, which is 50kms further from kasargod. The location was awesome with a wonderful view. The property is situated on a river bank and has all the basic amenities

Not bad ok want more facilities like bathing soap towel. Bathroom is not well cleaned. No water to drink

It was a good place huge back water, location was awesome. We enjoyed lots but night time lil bit scary because we stayed one family if you have group or 2 families then you can enjoy night out in home stay. And there are no restaurant near by location. Break fast is also good but if like kerala food it's full kerala style. You can cook whatever you want. Overall it was good one.

Super awesome location, caring caretaker, helpful owner. Beach in 5 mins reach by vehicle. Huge backwaters right infront of this homestay. Govt ferry point nearby which can take you through all the backwaters and return drop at same point for 38 rs per hear (3.5 hours of ride) morning 8am and evening 4pm excluding friday. Must visit!

We stayed at candle-hut for one night enroute from karwar to kochi. The location of the property is excellent just adjacent to the backwaters. It is a very good place to unwind with family in a very calm and peaceful setting. The check in and check out was smooth and well coordinated. The rooms were clean and well maintained. Home delivery of dinner was made available from a nearby restaurant and the alfaham chicken was excellent. A sumptuous home cooked breakfast was also arranged by the host. We look forward to visiting the place again in the near future and hope to spend a longer vacation at candlehut.
