Cherai Beach Resort

The positives of the place: - location - right on the beach, with a road separating the property and the beach - ample parking - spacious rooms, with some of them having a view to the backwaters (the property lies on a narrow stretch of land between the backwater and the sea) - large area to walk around - big swimming pool - a nice ayurvedic spa within the property - courteous staff - good eateries within walking distance the not so great things: there is an overall slackness in the maintenance of the property that you might come across in different ways - the food, especially the breakfast was just ok. Without anything being available to order - they do not take any a-la-carte orders, only the buffet items will be available even for paid lunch and dinner. - the property has been around for a while (probably one of the first of this location, and certain units are unused due to lack of maintenance. They become a bit of an eye sore on an otherwise beautiful property. - we stayed there for 2 nights and the items in the rooms were not replaced on the second day (water bottles, towels etc. It was done very quickly once we requested for them, but it would be ideal for such things to happen as per a schedule rather than each guest having to ask for it. - we had a duplex unit with a view of the backwater. The view from the first assigned unit was completely blocked by shrubs and tree branches. Our request for another unit with a better view was promptly granted, but some guests might miss out on a good experience just because the management has been lazy in trimming the branches / shrubs.

The property is bang opposite to the clean cherai beach. A big property. Only cute little cottages with beautiful sit out. They need to do up the interiors again. When we went in the 3rd week of march there were just about 4-5 occupants as ramzan, lent and exam season was on. So the stay was peaceful. Only issue was that we requested the desk to let us check out at 2 pm instead of 11 am as the property was empty and no rush of visitors too and shouldn't be an issue so that we could have lunch at their restaurant and leave. Unfortunately they refused to budge and hence we had to check out at 11 am wish they had considered our request and had given us the small buffer time. It wouldn't have affected them but it would have given a totally different impression about customer service. That's ok.

Resort location is really good. Located between backwaters and the beach. Had really plush forest inside and gives good vibes. Food is decent but could be better. Rooms are spacious and clean. Beach is located opposite to the resort but you have to cross the road and there are rocks that prevents erosion. And post the rocks, there is only a few feet of sand and it's steep for children to play. Cherai beach nearby is okay but there is a lot of seaweed. Kuzhipilly beach is decent, a couple of kms away, but there are tons of seaweed and doesn't look nice. Cochin access is through a narrow one lane road with rash driving buses, takes about an hour to go to wonderla and lulu mall. Overall happy with the resort. Can visit once.

Very good rooms. The room includes a sitting area, a bedroom and toilet & bathroom, along with a sitout. The room and bathroom is clean. There is a mini fridge provided, along with tv and a good a/c. The staff is very good. The swimming pool is very clean and well maintained; the water does not irritate your eyes and is continuously treated. The resort area, despite being a little old, is very well maintained. I had spent some time roaming around the property, walking among the mangroves and feeding fishes, watching the backwaters etc. The resort is right next to cherai beach. The restaurant here is a bit pricey, but there are nice restaurants nearby, and you can order from food delivery apps too.

The stay was pretty decent. The room was spacious with plenty of storage compartments. We had their complementary buffet breakfast, to be frank food was very average not many varieties too. So food is a big no here. And there is only free wifi available in the reception and restaurant. You can’t connect to their wifi at rooms. Apart from this everything was fine and beach is just opposite of the resort, so you don’t need to walk too much. Ya it’s a quite good option if you need to relax a day or two at the beachside. You can have better food options outside the resort. Thank you for a safe and pleasant stay!

See the resort was good looking from out. But the intercom wasnt working in our room, the room set up was little bad, the water was stagnated out of the room and foul smell was there whenever we stepped out of the room. The water for the beauty of the Cherai Beach Resort was very dirty, no maintenance. The hammok swing was torn, the thing is it was all good looking from out, but inside there are too many things to be fixed. The swimming pool was amazing, food was decent, there are nearby shops to eat. Those were pretty good, easily reachable to main area.

The resort is located in very nice place. Very much accessible to the beach. Overall premises were neatly designed. But thee-re was a foul smell in many places of the resort, maybe due to the lake which is aside. The food served was very good. Both the dinner and breakfast was nice. Other concern is that the property is partially under renovation, so all the areas arent accessible. The rooms and premises were clean. I did take the 2 bedroom villa which cost around. It didnt feel worth for that money. Maybe after renovation it will be good.

I'm spending my holidays the second time here in a decade. I should say this resort is ideally located in between a marvelous beach and a beautiful backwaters. During 2018 floods some of the villas were destroyed, still there is abundant accomodation for enjoying your holidays. The staff are courteous, food is reasonably delicious and services are exceedingly well. Maintaining a resort of this scale is not a small thing compared to the aging structures here. Still it is worth the best choice at cherai.

Nice stay for 1 night at this property. Clean and hygienic room. Good options at buffet breakfast. Pool was nice and clean. Spa is also good with reasonable prices. Beach just opposite the property

We just stayed a day. Overall experience is very good. Nice ambience preferred for family stay. Presently they are lot improving the renovation and keep going well.

Lot of area. Good landscaping was done to ensure there are enough ambience. All rooms are villa types. Ideal for family trips. There are lots of area to play for kids. Breakfast menu could be improved. The front area of all villas gives a homely feeling. Gives the feeling of a traditional kerala home.

Staff are not active. Drinking water was not available in the room. Even after repeated requests water was not delivered. Finally had to meet receptionist in person n persuade

Very good resort with access to back water and arebian sea beach both. It's big area and spacious rooms for us in doctor premium villas. Staff is very polite and amenities are average, spa is very good. Property needs maintenance at few area.

Relaxing, calm and quiet with plenty of trees and the beach it was an amazing stay.

Booked doctors villa. Was spacious enough and clean. But had to call reception for setting up lot of items ( phone, tv, kettle). It took almost 3 hrs after check in to get these. The rooms near backwaters are now not in use probably damaged in 2018 flood. Swimming pool was good but felt the chlorine used was less. Breakfast was too limited in options.

Its a nice location with silent environment. Room service also good.

This property is very close to beach and it is good for family stay. Got nice and big swimming pool. Rooms are spacious. Only think the property looks very old and need upgrade to new amenities.

Resort was located at very prime location, staff good and helpful, however feel that there has to be a little more staff for the resort to be maintained room's we're clean but the outside of the resort also has to be a little more maintained. Overall a good place for family vacation.

A real treasure trip, i might say, excellent staff and very satisfying service, neat and tidy rooms, food was memorable, place is very quite and apt for couples. I dare say although there are lots of other Cherai Beach Resorts which looks very colorful and appealing you wouldn't find a better one than cherai beach resort.
