The Chumbi Mountain Retreat & Spa, A Club Mahindra Associate, Pelling

My stay at the property was truly pleasant and comfortable. The location was perfect — close to main attractions and easy to access. The rooms were clean and well-maintained with all necessary amenities. The staff was polite, helpful, and ensured a smooth check-in and checkout process. Food quality was excellent, with a good variety in breakfast and dinner options. Overall, a great experience and highly recommended for both families and solo travelers.

Awesome property location overlooking the Kanchenjunga range . Exquisitely designed property with antique artefacts and extremely comfortable and large rooms. Very delicious food and a very very warm staff at the front desk and FnB. Great place to enjoy a relaxed holiday

The hotel is brilliantly designed and craftfully decorated. The staff is generously courteous and make it an absolute point to make your stay an eventful experience. Food is amazing and very prompt and professional service. It’s been an amazing and delightful experience at the resort.

We had a great time at Chumbi on our anniversary . Everything was good. The Kanchenjunga view from the room was top notch. Food was great . Service was really good. The staff was good. Would like to visit again in future .

Property is very good. But needs renovation. With global warming, all hill station have become warm. With this changing climate. All rooms should have ceiling or wall fans. Buffet meals need more varieties. Staff were helpful. Spa was amazing. Bar cocktail were very good evening time was expecting live music, but nothing happened. Over all a pleasant stay

Absolutely awful experience. One good thing about this “resort” its location. It is situated very beautifully on top of a hill overlooking the kanchenjunga range. However, the actual resort fell disastrously short of expectations. When we visited, apparently they were in the middle of transitioning to a club mahindra property. Which meant that nothing was organised. They did not have a dine in menu. You had to call every time to ask what was available and then they didn’t share the rates so you had no idea how much anything cost. The rooms did not even have face tissues and when i asked for them, the staff didn’t understand what i was asking for. I had to explain multiple times. The windows don’t have screen so if you want to keep them open you have to be prepared to be attacked by bugs and mosquitoes. The rooms have zero sound insulation. I could hear the tv playing in the neighboring room till late at night which ruined my sleep. On top of it, they have music every night at the fire pit till 9 pm. And guess what? it is the worst possible singers who gather together to create a racket you cannot escape. I go to the mountains for some peace and quiet and i got none of it at this resort. They need to substantially improve their service if they want to keep charging these prices. I have stayed at cheaper properties with much much better service. Also, if you are transitioning, maybe it’s a better idea to close the resort for a few months than inconvenience your guests. The only saving grace of this place is the eagerness of its staff to help you.

Overall stay is ok but this resort has been leased by mahindra from april 1st 2024. Most of the facilities are not in renovation state.

The resort was extremely pleasant experience. Views of the mountains were spectacular. Food quality and dining were exceedingly well. Staff running the facility are very professional. This resort comes highly recommended.

Beautiful property. Hospitality could have been better. Think they are understaffed. Food average. Price of starters etc were steep. We had to request for a tour of the property but no one showed us around. Also requested for a lot cal dinner which they oblige geed but not what we expected from previous reviews. That place could do better.

Excellent resort in a heavenly abode. The owner ugyen (danny denzengopa’s nephew, film director, brewery owner) has made it into a very well equipped resort with fantastic view of kanchenjunga mountains. Excellent food, service, great guests, and we ended up celebrating the new year with complete strangers with a lot of fun.

A real old heritage property, well located and managed. full English styled accommodation and service.

If you visit Pelliing, which is highly recommended, please stay at Chumbi Mountain Resort only, this is an amazing facility with some excellent people managing the property, the place is mesmerizing and very close to nature. We had an amazing stay with some really memorable moments. Overall, strongly recommended.
