Colonels Inn Villa | Rooms & Caretaker

It was a nice stay for us in Colonel's Inn. We were given a room with balcony and the view was superb. The room was spacious and is far better than many other similar type Colonels Inn Villa | Rooms & Caretakers in Ooty. There can be many improvements in terms of bed cushion, wash room amenities. But that's manageable. Another highlight is the location, walkable distance to charing cross and the very famous modern stores. Above all a special mention to Gopal Pradhan who attended us along with his mate. Both were very responsive and the food they prepared was too good and homely. They buy fresh vegetables to prepare the food in a very hygienic manner in their kitchen. Overall a satisfied stay and highly recommended when you are visiting Ooty. Please also note this is a homestay and not to expect any 3 or 5 star Colonels Inn Villa | Rooms & Caretaker type service.
Room service was excellent. A special mention about the food, it was too good and had homely taste.

Loved the location of the place around 600 meters inside from the main road which is great, as it provides that peaceful time with your family or loved ones. The food was amazing, I only remember Mr gopal's name as of now he is an amazing cook. The room had everything as promised in very neat condition. It also had a Xbox kept on first floor connected with the tv, a billiard table. Multiple configurations of rooms were available. The location is so perfect that time in market, botanical garden and the main market are just 600-700 meters away. You get the option of choosing the items in your breakfast lunch or dinner. The caretaker at the property is also amazing. You just need to inform him and it will be done. Lucky that I booked this place.

Colonels inn is located at a peaceful lane not far from the most happening parts of the city. The market so close to it will serve all your shopping cravings. The botanical gardens, a great place and a major tourist attraction, is just a short walking distance from the place. The view of the sacred heart cathedral is just an added advantage. You can easily sit through some lazy time listening the prayers and the choir inside the cathedral. The rooms are neat and clean and tastefully furnished with hygienic and well maintained washrooms. The food is just great to say the least. I must add a line thanking mr gopal and his aids who woke up unusually early for them to pack us a breakfast so that we could catch the flight.

Nice spacious room with all necessary facilities. Great accessibility to the market and botanical gardens. The place itself is at a good location. Scenic views from villa itself. Well maintained nursery with beautiful flora. Zen and sinhji were excellent caretakers. Sinhji was very prompt. The chef does a great job. Breakfast was delicious and generous and timely. There is menu available for lunch and dinner which is also quite generous in quantity. We are also allowed to use the kitchen to make our own lunch and dinner. It is nearby moddys which is an excellent cafe and we also have a super store extremely nearby so the daily necessities are easily available.

Location is good, rooms are spacious though furniture need replacement. 3 to 4 cars can be parked. Breakfast is complementary but you have to indicate your preferences. Lunch and dinner- with homely taste- are also arranged by the caretaker on demand. Botanical garden is at 2-3 minutes walk. There is a sacred heart cathedral, ccd, vishal mega mart, m day's chocolate nearby. You can also stroll down to commercial road which houses many eateries and stores selling home made chocolates, various varieties of tea and oil, woolen garments etc.
The furniture are old and need replacement.

This little nook is a short walk on the road behind modern stores and opposite a lovely white church. The bungalow reminds one of the old days- a lovely round garden that has pathways leading to the entrance of your home away from home. Like my daughter calls it a joint family setting. There are individual rooms that one can book to stay at and the guests can gather together in the dining and hall if they so choose. The staff in attendance are homely and ever smiling, ever ready to be of service and the cook is excellent! Thank you for a wonderful stay. Would love to visit again.

Overall its an excellent and affordable place to stay in ooty. Family friendly, neat, clean and very hygienic. There is no kitchen service, but food will be delivered to our room as per reqest from outside Colonels Inn Villa | Rooms & Caretakers. Care takers are humble and helpful. Only 3 cars can be parked at a time. Balcony rooms has excellent view to the hills and valley. Good place. Very clean and neat. Family friendly. Food is also good. This gives out the feel of a heritage home stay. Beautiful architecture from the past. Care takers are also helpful and friendly.

Home stay was easy to reach and located very near to botanical gardens. Place was maintained well by caretaker Mr. Zir. Rooms are adequate and all the amenities provided. Place had a wide array of leisure activities too including Xbox live with moderate array of game collections, billiards table, chess and carrom. Cons: Since it is a home stay, food prepared is good, but not upto point. Food can be better but the prices are less compared to restaurants. The place is located in residential area, so the view in the outside is not scenic.

Constantly located near Moddy's walk-able distance from charring cross and botanical garden. Peaceful stay away from the hustle bustle and yet near the town center. Rooms are very spacious and staff is the best in Ooty.

I had a very convenient and comfortable stay at Colonels Inn. Good location, quiet surroundings inspite of being at center of City. Comfortable homelike beds and good food made by the cook on demand. Overall a good bed and breakfast experience and I will definitely stay here again on my next visit.

Owner was friendly and accommodative. A typical home stay where we need to plan and request everything in advance. Cleanliness, quality of food and furniture and building were aged, but well maintained.

Property it's centre of ooty, nice location with clean maintenance. Staffs are very good responsibility. The house like small palace.

Wide room and classic furniture are nice. Very close to botanic garden.
