Coorg Lagoon Backwater Stay | Rooms & Dorms

The property location is excellent and surrounded by beautiful surroundings. The food was also good — we had rasam and rice, which tasted nice. However, the rooms were a big disappointment. We had booked a deluxe room, but it didn’t even meet basic standards. The room had a strong, unpleasant smell, as if the walls were damp. The wall and ceiling paint had black patches, and the lighting was very poor — just a single dim bulb. There was no ceiling fan, only one wall-mounted and one table fan, both noisy and disturbing our sleep. Hot water was not available except for a short time in the morning, and even then, only from one tap — not in the shower. After a long drive, we couldn’t take a bath due to the lack of hot water. The room had no cross ventilation; one small window near the main door could open, while the other window was fixed with glass. Although a geyser was installed, it had no water connection. It seemed like the walls and ceiling hadn’t been cleaned for a long time, apart from routine floor cleaning. Drinking water was provided in a jar, but it tasted sour, like lemon — probably because the jar wasn’t cleaned properly before refilling. Breakfast was overpriced at ₹350 per person, though the food (dosa, lemon rice, pineapple halwa, and coffee) was tasty. There were also many mosquitoes in the room. Overall, while the outdoor area and location are beautiful, the rooms need serious maintenance and cleanliness improvements.

Rooms are not that much great..looks very old.Lights are not available in path ways. no safety. kids area is not usable. We enquired about boating facility which was refused. but last day we found the boat availability by that time we checked out.

Coorg lagoon is has one of the most beautiful views with harangi backwater spread across giving a spectacular view especially during sunrise and sunset. The food here was really nice very tasty and hygienic. I had been with my family and everyone loved the food. They have good staff. Overall a very good experience at Coorg Lagoon a must visit place during monsoon.

No hot water to bath, no swimming pool. No proper games. Only snooker with single stick. Liquor not allowed is only on board. Not suitable for family

The resort location is really good, right on the banks of harangi backwaters. The rooms are dated but comfortable. There is power issue due to remote location but manageable. Hot is also available in mornings thru boilers in separate tap. We had deluxe cottage 1 right next to the backwaters.

Firstly the positive aspects of this property, it has an amazing backwater lagoon with beautiful sunrise and sunset views, the property is slightly located away from the city giving u a peace of mind and keep u relaxed. Moving on to negative aspects, the property doesn't provide wifi, no tv in room, the linen used in bedroom was stained in yellow color, electricity issue too at night with no power backup, housekeeping staff stole my face cream and denied that they took it. It was not in the room when i came back in the evening. I gave my utensils for cleaning to the staff which they didn't give back. Food was okay. Overall an average property, only points for the ambience and its scenic beauty

The property is situated near to harangi backwater. The staff is very nice, and the food and service were amazing. Had a nice stay with my family.

The staff and food are good. Tha rooms are very bad. The rooms do not have a fan, and you are provided standing fan on request only. There is water seepage in room walls and the windows leave a small space for mosquitoes to come in. The taps do not have knob, there and the blankets given are a bit torn. Also lot of stray dogs which would come inside room if the door left unattended. The hotel mentions wifi but there is none and it becomes extremely difficult to work since very less mobile network connectivity due to forest area. Only good points are the food, helpful staff and a good backwater view with sunrise. Would not recommend when travel-ling with family/kids.
