Cranganor History Cafe & Riverside Chateau

Resort was superb. The rooms were classy and comfortable. Pool was amazing. Service was top class. I must mention Ashique and Lalu. They were very helpful. I must mention some of the negatives here. The bathroom floors are so slippery. Our kids had multiple slip and falls. The food they serve is average. Like a normal Cranganor History Cafe & Riverside Chateau food. Nothing extra ordinary. And cost is totally out of proportion. I mean it literally burns your pockets. One more thing- there are no Cranganor History Cafe & Riverside Chateaus around the place. So most of the times we have no other go to order from them. I have booked a room and mentioned the occupants as 2 adults and 2 children with their ages 7 yrs and 9 yrs. They didn't mentioned we will need extra beds. And it itself costed extra for one day. How fair is that. So overall. Eventhough, the property and rooms were exactly same as in the foods. There were these disappointing things at the end of the day. It was not totally enjoyable.

So my family and I checked into this Cranganor History Cafe & Riverside Chateau to celebrate my son's birthday. This quaint resort with its colorful oxide flooring has given us a wonderful experience over the weekend. It sits quietly on the banks of Periyaar overlooking untouched natural beauty of Kerala. It offers a handful of rooms that are well kept helpful, friendly and well mannered staff and really tasty food. They even arrange kayaking, and boat rides. We found the boat ride very relaxing sometimes going through uninhabited Islands and mangrove forests, and at other times showing us the heritage buildings and village life. The guy on the boat was also a friendly and informative chap. This resort and the location is a worthy replacement for the overcrowded and commercialized Kumarakom resorts. In short, it is a treasure yet to be discovered by the crowd. I only had one complaint, the power went off many times during night and we had a disturbed sleep as it was really humid.

Location can't get better beautiful. Property touching the river tastefully maintained, truly lives up to the description God's own country. They need to work on the breakfast very little options more like a home-stay with only one or two items to eat. Would like a proper breakfast spread incorporated at this place to give it the full resort feel.
The resort was the best part of our Kerala trip. But being one with nature comes with a price. Lot of little harmless bugs during dusk, you have to shut doors and windows. That was the only let down.

A perfect retreat after enjoying working in Delhi and Chennai. It was a perfect change of tempo, and would highly recommend to couples, families or travellers. The staff are very kind, welcoming, and genuinely caring. You will feel more like you are staying with a family. The food is absolutely fantastic, and the grounds are very well kept, and there are plenty of different activities you can enjoy if you should choose to.

It's a very nice small resort, it's very beautiful I booked a room name yellow or black opposite swimming pool. Cherry Beach is 10 km far from Cranganor History Cafe & Riverside Chateau those who like peaceful stay I definitely recommend this property last I want to say there is no market near by Cranganor History Cafe & Riverside Chateau. L enjoyed a lot special thanks manager as his he is so helpful.

I have gifted a day in Cranganor for my bestie. My friends really enjoyed a lot there. And the way the staffs dealed with them also they appreciated a lot about the food they provide. Above all the ambience was superb. I'm glad I gifted the best wedding gift for my besties. I will be visiting the place again now and will highly recommend to everyone who needs a peaceful ambiance.

It was my wedding anniversary on 30th August. I am so happy to have celebrated our anniversary at the resort with my newly married son and his wife. Mr. Ashiq even surprised us with a cake for our celebration that night. He introduced us to the chef when we expressed our appreciation for the food. I wish the team the best always.

Great spot relaxed and beautiful location. Room service could have been better. Food was cold and priced very high. But the rooms and ambiance was excellent. Hoping to go back soon. Great location wonderful rooms and open lawn fun for family. Lovely pool area.

The main attraction of this place was not the big swimming pool or the magnificent lake view rooms, but the warm reception given by each and every staff of this resort.
Rooms are different in shape, size and concept, but all of them are equally good.

Good behaviour by the staff and very cooperative as well.

Very silent and calm full area, attractive destination.

My stay was off one day only but did thoroughly enjoyed the serene beauty of the place followed by local tour and great food. Rooms are very nice, staff behaviour is praiseworthy and the location of the resort is awesome. A must-visit place.
