DAWN HOME STAY

Hospitality, Room Decoration and food is so good. Here privacy is well maintained. A very beautiful view of Kanchanjunga can be seen from the balcony. A small kitchen is also available for those who want to cook themselves. It is located walking distance from the Zoo, Ropeway and the tea garden.

Location is a very big issue with this Hotel. It is very very difficult to reach there. Far from the Main Road and you must have a reserved Taxi for Up and Down. Food was good according to the Taste of that Place. Room was not so big as seen in the Picture but good. There should be a TV which was not there. Service was very Good. Mr. Anand Lepcha is a kind and humble person. Always ready to serve.

To say that this was the best Homestay so far would be an understatement. I travelled with my mum to Darjeeling. Initially we were skeptical about the booking. However, we were proven wrong. The Dawn Homestay proved to be a blessing in disguise. The caretaker, Mr. Peter ji ensured that we actually felt like home. We never felt we were in a hotel, rather it felt like we were at our extended family's place. The hospitality, the warmth and everyone from Mr. Peter Ji's family (now our family) ensured that we are safe, sound and genuinely happy. They cooked delicious food for us from time to time. They provided hot water for drinking, blankets etc. The room was very good and the view from its balcony was excellent. I have been on many trips with my mum and both of us unanimously agree that this was the best trip so far thanks to Mr. Peter ji and family. Mr Bob ji (Peter Ji's brother) drove us to all the places in Darjeeling. He waited patiently and ensured we reached our room safely. They took care of us just like Family and we never felt like we were outsiders. They bought us ORS packets and tablets for fever and vomiting when one day my mum felt sick. Also, unlike other homestays which usually overcharge for food and amenities, Peter ji charged a very nominal amount for food; we ourselves offered to pay more but he refused. He introduced us to their culture and we learnt a lot during our short stay. We are taking so many happy memories with us back home. We cannot thank them enough for their hospitality. In the end, I'd conclude by quoting the Dawn Homestay's logo, Visit as guests and leave as family which was made true by Peter ji and family.

One of the best experience that we have had lately. We found a home away from home. Peter da and family are a great host. The rooms are clean and cute. The food is simple and soul food. The view is impeccable and beautiful. Had the best time ever. Would recommend this place to everyone visiting darjeeling.
