Deshadan Cliff & Beach Resort

First thing that you notice while entering the Varkala town that there are very less signs reading 'Deshdan', while there are plenty of others. Recommend Deshadan Cliff & Beach Resort management to put more direction help for the guests. The Deshadan Cliff & Beach Resort is located about a kilometer from a very beautiful cliff and the Varkala beach through a market full of lovely shops and food joints. However there is a small patch (about 200 meters) in the way which is little deserted. There wasn't any problem though, it still gives a weird feeling. In the Deshadan Cliff & Beach Resort, poolside rooms are really nice. There was a small dining space (hut shaped) opposite to the rooms. The Deshadan Cliff & Beach Resort staff (especially the receptionist) was quite nice, always wearing smiles on their faces. Breakfast was amazing. However the kitchen closes early in the evening (9:30pm) asking you to take a walk for your supper to the restaurants in the cliff mall, which is more beautiful in the evenings. We wish to go again in future and relive the experience.

Varkala is the only place in southern Kerala where cliffs are found adjacent to the Arabian Sea. [2] These Cenozoic sedimentary formation cliffs are a unique geological feature on the otherwise flat Kerala coast, and is known among geologists as Varkala Formation and a geological monument as declared by the Geological Survey of India. There are numerous water spouts and spas on the sides of these cliffs. In 2015, Ministry of Mines, Government of India and Geological Survey of India (GSI) have declared Varkala Cliff as a geo-heritage site. Polite staff and peaceful ambience . Relaxed environment for couples . Close to the helipad. The swimming pool timings could be increased tough but it was clean. Breakfast could have more variety. A little expensive in spite of being non season at present. Thanks for an overall comfortable stay .

The Deshadan Cliff & Beach Resort is located few minutes walk from the cliff. We had a great time staying at the Deshadan Cliff & Beach Resort. Hotel staff is very friendly and were extremely helpful. They went out of their way to ensure we have a good time in Varkala. Sajin, in particular, was very helpful in suggesting sightseeing and adventure ideas and in arranging our travel around. Hotel arranged for us to go for water sports at Kaapil Beach, and also informed the center of our arrival in advance, which immediately made us feel comfortable and safe at the water sports center. The restaurant had delicious food especially the masala fried fish. Restaurant staff is also very polite and helpful.

Never have I stayed in the same resort twice. Never have I recommended a place so much to my friends and circles. Never have I felt homesick when leaving a facility on vacation. Deshadan Varkala made me do all this. They have redefined what service means. They don't treat you as guests. They go that extra mile making you feel royal. It is the simple things that they do and take care of, be it the broad smiles of the staff, homely service, nice food, swimming pool, etc. and the homely and amazing new year party they threw, was a sweet touch. I generally don't go gaga over reviews. But I am doing so for Deshadan Varkala. Will go again and again. Thank you folks.

This resort is at a nice distance from the beach and so it has got a calm atmosphere. The cliff is almost 200 metres away and it is easily accessible through a shortcut. The staff is very polite and the food is really good ... The complimentary breakfast can have more items but its still tasty .. Floor mats are missing in the room. Considering the fact that most of the rooms are poolside, this is a must. The swimming pool timings are up to 6pm but they are quite liberal and you can use it for more time .. Booking through MMT can save you a bit of money. Overall a very good experience and highly recommended ...

We traveled as a family with my 2 year old daughter who loves water. If you can properly differentiate your time, Deshadan is a wise and luxurious choice. The ambiance, room and pool are well maintained and tempting to make us spend more time there. But here we have the best beach of Kerala and we will easily spend more time. So a short stay is actually not enough. The food from a nearby restaurant at the Cliff (Sea-view restaurant) and the view from there is fabulous. I personally recommend book room only without food and have food from the restaurants at the Cliff. The staff at Deshadan were also very kind.

It's a good place to stay. Good hospitality from the staffs. Budget room. Room and bathroom are neat. The road to the property is a narrow where two big vehicles can't go to at the same time. There not much Deshadan Cliff & Beach Resorts or shops nearby for which we need to go to the cliff which is around 250 meters. There are no extra plus points to charge our phones. There is only one charging point which is in the bathroom. Overall a good experience.

Rooms were clean. Located about 500 meter from Varkala Cliff. You won't have a view of the Beach. They have a clean pool. Stayed in a cottage kind of room near the pool. Outside food is not allowed. Food is a bit costly. Courteous staff. Calm atmosphere. It was off season when I went there, only one dental kit was provided for a double occupancy room. Intercom was not working properly.

The Resort is close to most attractions at Varkala making life real easy if you are planning to hop multiple locations on the same day. The rooms are well appointed and the staff are super helpful. My stay here was really pleasant and the best part is all this doesn't really burn a hole in your wallet.

The room was clean. Food was tasty. Receptionist was very courteous and hospitable. Recommend to stay at this place.

Our stay was comfortable and deshadan had everything that it promised. We had ordered dinner there and and it was very good. Buffet breakfast was kind of okay. The resort has a calm environment, very small kids pool and helpful staff. There was no white light in the room, making it difficult to read something.

Good serene environment, slightly away from from beach(50 meters), that adds to the tranquality. There's a nice litle swimming pool also.Overall, very good experience.

Went to Varkala for a peaceful stay and thanks to Do the stay was amazing. The property is a small and everything is just a step away. The room is nice and the pool is also great. Room service is good. Overall ambience is perfect for a romantic and relaxing holiday. Special mention for all the staff. They were really caring and helpful.

Small resort in a good location and had a nice stay. Swimming pool was nice and entertaining. staffs are very helpful and polite. They helped to get a surprise cake for my girl friend, but food was not so good. So I suggest to have food outside the resort. There is a Deshadan Cliff & Beach Resort called Chimney where the food was awesome and cheap.

Amazing stay staff was really good, best for couples I would say complete privacy, and I will 100/100 for the pool, clean and warm. Break fast is really good and also the dinner. If I will ever stay in Varkala it will.
