Terrible Stay

I booked this property expecting a safe and comfortable stay, but the reality was completely opposite. The entrance itself looks extremely unsafe rusty, isolated, and nothing like a 4-star rated hostel. The area around the property is dark with barely any lighting except on the main street, making it feel very unsafe, especially for women. The so called private room opened directly into a dormitory, which is the complete opposite of “privacy.” The walls were moldy, the washroom was unhygienic, and the overall condition of the room was far below acceptable standards. Safety is my biggest concern. The location is isolated, there are no visible security measures near the gate, and the CCTV coverage (if any) clearly doesn’t extend to the entry area. It did not feel secure to stay there at all. I am genuinely disappointed with how misleading the property photos and ratings were. I expected MMT to conduct proper background checks before listing such places. This property should not be promoted as a safe or quality stay, especially for women travelers. Would not recommend this place to anyone looking for safety, cleanliness, or even basic comfort. I am attaching images below. Please look and tell me yourself, that this place doesn't look unsafe. Below is the gate to the property. Does this look like a 4 star rated hostel? It looks like an abandoned rusty house. The video attached shows the area around. There is no lights except for on the main street, and it's completely isolated. Does the so called CCTV camera face this gate? As for the room. The private room opens into the dorm directly which is the total opposite of privacy. The walls in the room and mold on them, and the washroom was also not up to mark. The main issue is women's safety. You can say you have cctv cameras but the area and entrance was very shady, and we were not at all comfortable with our room opening into a common dormitory! How is that safe??? We request you to consider a refund, if not from the hostel, at least from MMT as we expected better background verifications from your side. Dear Miss Maithili, Thank you for your feedback, first of all its a affordable backpacker hostel not a 5 or 4 start hotel or luxury stay, in your review you are more concern about the women safety, but you didn't stay at our property more then 30 min so safety is not concern. As we declined your request for refund you started making 3 different excuses for not to stay, also let me tell you when you enter the property our female volunteer has done your entry and checkin we can attach CCTV footage as well and she is staying in the property from last 20 days, she is more then safe and well. We have the CCTV coverage in the lobby area and reception area from where anyone enter from the large big gate will be captured, from the day we open all the female guest has arrived till date on our property as a wonderful stay and most of the girls are our repeated guest maybe you don't understand the hostel culture, I request you to book 5 or 7 start hotel next time in your stay. Makemytrip has already done a background check, without their approval any property will not be listed. Our property is surrounded by plants, trees and bamboo it give feel like jungle so don't expect luxury. Thank you

The stay was totally peaceful and very neat and clean. The place have a goan vibe and joyful environment. The people staying was good so we make lot of memories throughout the trip. Even breakfast was very limited but yummy. Must go place to enjoy the fun of hostel life

As a solo traveler i had an amazing experience. The hosts were very welcoming, the rooms were kept clean and even tho it was a shared space, everyone was so nice and kind. Also they have a cute cat (patches)

We were a gang of 5, and this place just made better goan vibe. Dorms were near and clean, owner and staff were very kind really liked the way they treated. Night view of location is next level, you can enjoy music and stay calm.
