Fort Chanwa

Its a small Heritage fort converted to Hotel property. The service is excellent by the staff and Jabber Singh the prime caretaker and the restaurant service in-charge person. They help you with you every possible decent manner like I had a little kid and they helped in making exclusive dishes, less spices on request. Overall staff ensures and takes good care of you and offer very good veg and non-veg items. Only a little challenge is its a 1 hour drive approx from main Jodhpur, which also to some extent is good if you want to be far from main city hustle bustle as you get to feel the secluded life with nature connect and every service available at your request. I had my personal car, so up down to Luni from Jodhpur was fine, else can be a little challenging. Overall a nice experience and great hospitality. If you are a large family, friends group and want to stay over weekend and enjoy at the fort property it will prove to be a good choice. Rest 1 tip for people with small kids : would recommend opting for deluxe rooms rather than heritage rooms (although bigger and spacious but due to twin bed availability, can be a little challenging.

1. The Hotel is a bit far from Jodhpur in remote area. 2. We booked via Makemytrip and for new year eve. Payment was made in full on the website. When we reached there, the staff was waiting for our arrival and was polite. However, at the time of check-in, they told us to pay a mandatory sum of INR 3000/- per person because they have arranged for a big new year party and we mandatorily have to attend. The word 'mandatory' stuck me with surprise. I told them, that it was not communicated to me during reservation and we will not pay any further amount. They kept us waiting for 30 mins at the counter and calling various numbers. Finally, they had to bow down and accept our demand and lots of negotiations.

Property is good belongs to the royal family, well maintained. Service is good, breakfast is buffet with sufficient options, friendly staff. Dinner buffet is slightly pricey but you have à la carte to choose as well. Live folk music during dinner is attractive. Only negative is its location. 40 kms outside Jodhpur. Need to plan properly for sight seeing as then return to Fort Chanwa else it will be annoying. We stayed only for a night and reached there at 7 pm after sightseeing and proceed to Udaipur next day which saved 1 hour in the morning to Udaipur. You can buy rasgullas from local market near this Fort Chanwa which is good.

Stayed for 2 nights here with family while touring around Rajasthan. Hotel is good. Big and clean rooms. Value for money. It is located little far from Jodhpur city. Approx 40km. But since we had our own vehicle so it was not a problem for us. There was no TV in the room, but we did not feel need of it. Fort is big and beautiful. Swimming pool is small but clean and well maintained. For a very reasonable price you get the experience of living in a palace.

The whole property was awesome. Very well planned and executed. Friendly staff at the restaurant. Very less food spread at lunch and dinner. The staff at reception also was not very welcoming. They treat foreigner and Indians differently. We had an early checkout (6. 30 am). There was absolutely no support staff, not even a single person. They did not even provide sandwiches even when breakfast was included in the package.

Overall our experience was great. The operation manager Mr. Devi Singh was very friendly, helpful, sincere and professional. The staff is very friendly, helpful and taking genuine care of the guests and their belongings. We enjoyed our stay and are extremely happy. The breakfast was excellent. We will certainly recommend this place to our family and friends and stay again. A great, comfortable and safe place to stay.

We stayed at Fort Chanwa for two nights. It was an excellent stay. Although the location is 20 km from Jodhpur and rooms are without TV, it is a gem of a place in middle of nowhere. The feeling of staying in a fort room is great and at the price it is definitely value for money. I will highly recommend it to people who want to stay in peace and quiet of a royal fort.

Trying my best to express the feelings to an absolutely amazing experience at Fort Chanwa. Heritage property, amazing hospitality, commendable service, cosy atmosphere. Great rooms and food. Well maintained property considering its difficult to navigate until you do its unbelievable that something like this is in store after rather bumpy ride. Truly Oasis in Desert.

Its perfect holiday destination

Our stay was comfortable and staff security was good. Some renovation was disturbing in the property.

Had a short stay in the Fort Chanwa. Initially I was afraid of the distance from the City. After reaching the Fort Chanwa I was surprised to See the hospitality and friendliness. Food was good and tastier. Room was clean and we'll maintained. Recommend to stay here

Room was clean, hygienic, liked the availability of mini fridge, attached with bathroom having all facilities. Location was good, 37 km from Jodhpur city easy to connect. Facilities were excellent. Food was delicious

According to me, it's good Fort Chanwa. But food is not up to the mark as well as very bad room service, because there's not telephone in the room. For all the requirements, I had to go at the reception.

Need to improve services and room services !! Otherwise it was a wonderful place to stay . Also need to have some traditional dance performances as other Fort Chanwa and resorts do at night !!

Good place heritage look Pool is awesome But have non veg food we are only vegetarian. You are recommended to go there with couples or family plc is good and in between a village easy approach and safe

Good services location was good

The food, service, rooms, washrooms, ambience and arrangements were all 5 star. But the highlight was the courteous and ever smiling staff they deserve 7 stars! Will visit again soon!
