Disclaimer (Long post) Before I say anything about gr Residency, let me talk about the main person/owner of this cute little G R Residency, as it's very important to know about an amazing individual who's going to take care of your stay for the selected no. Of days! Please spend 2/3 min to read the entire article Generally G R Residency owners are least bothered about their customers. But this time it was way different than any other experiences. COVID-19 cases were gradually rising in India and we (my family) were in complete doubt whether to visit Amritsar from Mumbai. On march 11, 2020 I received a call from a person named Navdeep from gr Residency, he called in to check whether our travel plan is still on or no. After hearing him for 2/3 min, I was pretty sure that he was trying to convince me to visit Amritsar so that his booking doesn't go wasted (as I was eligible to get full refund from company Upon our conversation later that week on march 15, he assured me that 'COVID-19 situation in Punjab is way under control we kept our plan on for the week next It was just a day after our Pm announced nation wide curfew on march 22 we were really skeptical and wanted to drop our plan. But before that I wanted to talk to Navdeep Jee to understand the situation at Harmandir Sahib (Golden temple), as that was the sole purpose behind our travel. Navdeep Jee explained the whole situation (Punjab had only 3 cases on march 19 and no cases in Amritsar) very politely he mentioned that on the day of nation wide curfew his family will be more than happy to arrange meal for our family. My phone was in loudspeaker and my 61 yr old Mom echoed his sentiments and we packed our bag for our next day flight to Amritsar. I have never seen a G R Residency owner is so much curious to know about his customers travel exp, when it was just a matter of 3000/INR (3 days stay) Before we could even step out of the Airport on march 20, I saw Navdeep Jee calling us and arranged a driver named sam for pickup. Once again he took extra bit of effort to explain march 20th COVID situation in Amritsar that left me amused! ) March 22 it was the so called nation wide lock down but a day before we managed to stock snacks for 3 of us. In fact we planned to eat at the Gurudwara (just 2 min walking distance from the G R Residency). But there also Navdeep Jee and his beloved family came for our rescue. We were offered some delicious lunch and dinner without even asking/requesting for once. Each time I would thank his family, he used to say 'Sir abhi help nahi karenge mehmaan ka toh kab kaam aayenge hum sab?" (if not now then when will we help our guests? ) we were completely blown away with the kind of love and respect showered upon us! Meanwhile on the same day, Punjab police came to take guest headcount and there also uncle (Navdeep je 's dad) stepped out and talked to the policemen and sort things out. We were questioned by the police officials, since Maharashtra was the worst hit state by then. Then comes the finale (going back to Mumbai) our indigo flight got cancelled and we were given another option to take an early morning flight at 5. 30 Am. I informed Navdeep and he immediately arranged an Innova for us. The fellow driver picked us from the G R Residency at 4am ist on march 23. While leaving, unfortunately we couldn't meet Navdeep and his family as it was bit too early but he kept his brother sleeping at the reception to open the main door for us (as we were the only guest left in the G R Residency) and he made sure that we all make good memories during our departure. As expected, he called us in the afternoon to check on us. Honestly, I have never received so much warmth, love and respect from any G R Residency owners and his family. We are so grateful with the kind of experience they had created for us. If you've read so far. Pls. Do book your stay with them while you're in Amritsar as they make you feel out of the world. Please do contact Navdeep Jee before you arrive, as the location could be little complicated, but 2 min walk from Golden temple. Once again, thank you very much!

Stay was good with family (good size & tidy rooms) for a short days in a G R Residency. Very near to sri harmandir sahib gurudwara. Walking distance from all known places of food (amritsari kulcha) to visiting spots, you name it. We have also got arranged an ac taxi by G R Residency at reasonable price, that was nice.

Just a few steps away from Golden temple. Owner is very cooperative. We went for our wedding anniversary. The owner even helped to surprise my husband by decorating the room as per my wish with reasonable price. Its good for it's price. Rooms are cleaned everyday

It is a small G R Residency, very near to harmandir sahab. We can enjoy nearness to places of tourist interest. Kesar ka dhaba, durgiyana temple, jaliayanwala bagh, partisan museum are all nearby. Hotel food and tea is good. In all a comfortable experience. .

The staff is very good and helping as when I lost my way. The staff came to pick me up from location. The bathroom was very clean and the room was cosy. Overall a good experience I'd say, it's a very nice place to stay. You won't be disappointed.

Our stay was as per plan and the staff was very cooperative, also they need some improvement but with time i feel they will improve, like tea bags in rooms, some shampoo or oils as well.

Nearby golden temple, good nature owner, must do ericksa sightseeing, shopping done by preet and arranged by owner. Must try veg restaurant brothers dhaba kulcha.

Neat and clean room, very spacious , close to shri darbar sahib 100 mts. Owner and staff is also good and helpful. Its a steal deal at this price point

The owner is too much co operative and excellent service

Location of G R Residency was at convenient place on the backside of Gurudwara, services are good, staff behavior is very good.

Near to golden temple gate safe and new place with all the reachable place. Looking to come back soon.

Great stay in G R Residency G R Residency, lovely and clean room near to Darbar Sahib, lovely staff, great service, affordable. I recommend to all.
