Gateway Chikmagalur

Good: - rooms/balconies are good though slightly worn out at places(can be ignored as such. Lots of greenery inside the premises. Good walking space. Some sporting/cycling facilities. The swimming pool is huge and nice. The library has some basic but good collections for kids at least. Small animal farm. - all people are highly courteous. - evening coffee service is a nice touch. - ample parking space. Can be better: - the game room looked a bit aged and stuffy. - the entry road (public) needs to be fixed. - can't rate the lunch buffet very highly; say it would be 7/10 though the dinner/breakfast buffet was better and so was a la carte. - didn't get clarity on bonfire usage if it is for general use or only for private usage upon booking. Pros: 1. Wonderful property with excellent staff. 2. Evening tea is something u should not miss out. 3. Rooms are very spacious with wonderful bathroom. 4. It's a pet friendly property. 5. Huge area with good parking space. Cons: nothing much. The only thing food could have been better in the dinner. We tried tomato soup, chill i pane-er tikka, chill i fish, chicken in malabar style, kadhi pane-er, vegetable balls with gravy and egg fried rice. The salt was little higher in most of the dishes and the service was little slow. It took lot of time when guests were not much. Otherwise every thing is top notch. We will again come here. Go ahead and book it. It is worth it. The staff will welcome u with a smile.

It was a pleasant stay in the resort, a laid back stay combined with taj hospitality. However, though there is no complaints against the property, there are a few observations: 1. The property is not in hills; it is in the plains. 2. The management could think about reducing plastic on the resort by putting up ro filters at multiple locations and providing glass bottles in the rooms. It breaks our heart when we see 7-8 half litre plastic bottles in dustbin everyday. Same could be done in washrooms; please keep fixed refillers for shampoo and bosy wash in rooms to reduce plastic further. Other than this, everything is positive in terms of food, hospitality, cleanliness, etc.

Location & staff was really good. They take care of all your requests on time. Food service needs to be improved as the challenge was with understaff. Taj management should look into this immediately. The swimming pool is under renovation & expected to be in operation in the next 3-4 months. You get lots of variety of food in complementary breakfast done with booking. Spa treatment was really good with best trained staff. They do provide a lot of complementary & paid services on demand during your stay. Overall it is a good 4 star Gateway Chikmagalur / resort to spend vacation with family & friends.

We booked two rooms in gateway chickmanglur from 25 to 27 th july. We were celebrating our mothers 75 th birthday. The gateway team made it extra special with their thoughtful room decoration and cake in the room. My mum was overjoyed. The front office staff manila, goutham and ragvendra were attentive to our every need. The food was amazing and the f&b manager along with his team were outstanding. Ashwin, prasad and all the chefs manning the live stations deserve special mention. The housekeeping team headed by dinesh were also really good and responsive. I would highly recommend this property

It was one of the best experiences i had during my vacation. I wanted to have a luxury stay with surroundings very close to nature. The staff is very friendly and i had many doubts regarding where to visit and where to go. They made me understand each place and everything where i can go. Overall its a must visit resort only if it fits your budget and get this once in your lifetime experience. Lastly i want to thank whole staff who helped us in our stay and made us comfortable. Its really great to see their hospitality and passion towards there work. Awesome

Gateway chikmagalur is a great property in a good location. It offers an excellent ambience amid-st nature. A good amount of flora within and around the property makes it an idyllic place to relax and enjoy nature. The staff is very courteous and helpful. A shoutout to goutham for making the check-in process smooth, and as-win for arranging a special request for cake. They have an excellent assortment of cuisines and the taste is delicious. Overall, a memorable stay with the family. Highly recommend this property for a once in a lifetime visit.

The gateway chikamaglur is a beautiful resort with an old world charm. Being set in lush greeny, it's a common sight to see an unusual snail or frogs trotting in the walkways. We ended up staying in 3 cottages and 1 standard room. Both the cottages as well as their rooms are beautiful, but for those with challenges climbing stairs/walking much, i'd suggest take the rooms (which are located in the main building. The staff at the resort are extremely respectful and hospitable. All in all, a good stay.

Highly recommend gateway ihcl chikmagalur for a serene weekend getaway. We felt the sense of tranquility soon as we entered the property with the well maintained green spaces and rustling of trees. The staff was always pleasant and welcoming, attending to our queries and ensuring our comfort at every step. The complimentary evening snacks and coffee as well as the morning buffet breakfast was a nice touch!

overall had an excellent stay. Gateway Chikmagalur maintained taj's quality. room was spacious. they already kept the extra beds as we have 2kids. location is below the hill, so not much good view from the Gateway Chikmagalur. items in the buffet were limited compared to the price.

we had an amazing stay at gateway chikmagalur. they have a serene environment around the Gateway Chikmagalur which gives relaxation. the Gateway Chikmagalur ambience is very good with a combination of heritage and modern amenities like very good wi-fi connectivity in and around the Gateway Chikmagalur premises. the staff is professional and provided an amazing service during our stay. to summarise this Gateway Chikmagalur is the best place if one is looking for relaxation.. no… thanks 🙏

The resort was a good experience. The rooms and facilities were good. Showing some age, but not bad. Although we did not use the pool, it needs some upgrade. Otherwise overall experience was great.

We had accidentally left behind a valuable personal belonging.. the staff were professional and went beyond and called us to inform about it.. it was safely handed back to us.. excellent service
