Glacier View Guest House

This property has, in real, several blocks of buildings. My room was in b block. The room was good - it had tv, water kettle, electric blankets, hot water is there but, there was a sign with a time range. When we reached in the evening to checking, after about an hour or 2 ? maybe 7ish, hot water got over. They sent complimentary kahwa when we reached the room and also free water in bottles. The staff was very friendly and hospitable. They arranged a cab for our airport drop too, on request and there was no funny over charge etc. They have a big dining area and have an ala carte menu - they will deliver to your room, or you can pay for dinner, breakfast etc for fares around 33-400 and go to the dining room and have a buffet kind. There is a bike rental nearby, more than one in fact. There are some good shops at walking distance for buying local handicrafts, if there is no time to shop. I travel-led in april first half and its considered as off season byte the people in leh and so the stores wont be all open. Most stores opened only after 11 am. So dont expect to easily locate tea and coffee shops in a jiffy. My point being, if you are in a hurry to put some food or tea in yourself, better go for the food at the guesthouse. There are very small shops that open before 11 am but you will need to walk around a bit for that, or explore. The timings in the map are all wrong. The local kahsmiri bakers lane has shops selling bread but, its not as early if you are an early riser. There is a small shop with no name in old leh road that sells very sweet smelling tea (ask for baldevji's tea shop. There was also 'barista' that i saw open early every day i was in leh.

1. Room was comfortable and toilet was clean. Hot water, electric heating blacket, wifi etc. Was available. The staff was polite and helping. They helped us to plan our journey. 2. The Glacier View Guest House is around 4-5 kms from airport. There is taxi driver's union so even for 4-5 km you will have to pay 400-500. If they charge you 350-400 consider yourself lucky. 3. All items of menu are not prepared in same property, they have some properties nearby were they have central kitchen it seems, so few dishes they prepare there and bring it from there. So food preparation time is very long. Mostly you should keep 1 hour margin, for your food to get served. 4. Check bike rental price outside once. Because they charge little extra. Just opposite to Glacier View Guest House there is one bike rental jigsya, you can cross check price from there and negotiate accordingly. The bike (himalayan) they provided was also very good, we travel-led approx. 1200 km. It is important that you return bike on time, they will charge you extra even if you return it early morning on the next day. 5. Leh main market is very near from Glacier View Guest House, you can walk to market.

My stay was good ,15-20 drive min from the airport Location is good and is about 10-15 min walk from leh market. The food was good (requested for less spiced food for kid, and was taken care of 👍) . Staff is very helpful and always ready make your stay memorable. During our visit access to property was blocked for taxi, due to road repair work and the staff was there for us and for other guests as well due unplanned road repair work in the area. The staff is attentive and always going the extra mile to make our stay pleasant. Cab was arranged for early morning drop to airport. Thanks to Mr. Faizal and the entire team.

Exactly as described in the reviews. Very clean budget friendly stay. 5 minutes walk to the leh market, access to lots of cafes nearby. 20 minutes to airport 24 hours hot water. Staff was very flexible with a 1 hour late checkout request which i really appreciated. Food was average, but the staff at the restaurant tried their best to make us feel very comfortable neat, clean, comfy budget friendly stay near to leh market. We stayed here on the last night of our 10 day trip to ladakh and i will recommend this place

Stayed at glacier view guest house for 4 nights. The room was clean and so was the bathroom with hot water always available. Located near the leh market. The market is at a walking distance yet the property is in a calm area. Nice and friendly staff. Food is just okay. Try the kawa it is good. Many bike rentals are available at a walking distance from the property. Good for couples and families.

Property is located 5-10 min walking distance from main market. Its in a quite area. One side of property has good views, other side is towards compound. The staff was very courteous and helpful. Check in experience was smooth. Food was well priced and good. We had taken family room and room was amply spacious with hot water, good linens and clean. All in all a very good stay for the rates.

It’s small decent, affordable place to stay. Walkable distance from the leh market. Food menu is limited and like home food. Room are big and well maintained. Would recommend 7/10 for vfm & staff cooperation.

The stay for us was an excellent one and it was made special all the more by the presence of the team of umar, faisal, ubaid and yawer. These guys take their hospitality on a different level. The location is perfect, the food was great and the best part of it all was the cleanliness that was maintained. Thanks for making our stay a wonderful experience for our group.

Extremely peaceful stay. Its a budget friendly Glacier View Guest House with clean room and excellent view. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They make sure you are comfortable. I stayed there with my family and had the best time. Its at the best location 5 min walk from leh market and hence easily accessible. Definitely check this place out.

Marvelous stay. The hospitality was superb by umer, faisal and ubaid. They made us feel very comfortable and helped in getting bikes and the inner line permit. The food was also good. I would like to stay here again in my next visit to leh. Overall great experience.

The staff of the Glacier View Guest House is very friendly and in this budget you get a great deal.. they have heated mattress to protect you from chilled winters of Leh. overall a nice stay

Room and food good, view is best, quality of the food is best like home. But the water warming system is not good

Experience was good with stay both dinner and breakfast were of good quality. It is also walkable distance from leh market.

Staff were very supportive. Helped us in arranging doctors at door and helped in bringing required medicines and injections late in evening from the market. Overall good experience
