Grassroots Wayanad | Valley-view Tents

Grassroots is definitely a very nice and romantic place for couples and family. It's a small resort with 5 Luxury Swiss tents. So at max only 5 couples/families can stay but very nicely decorated with all amenities in the midst of a hill surrounded on one side by tea plantations. There is no room service as such but you can call the manager and ask if you need anything. From the resort the view is very good and one can walk down to the tea plantations in the morning or evening for a stroll. Feels really good. Food here is awesome. Better than most top tier restaurants in Bangalore. They have a fixed buffet for lunch and dinner with fixed prices but the food taste and variety is awesome. In the evening the resort becomes even more beautiful. The road to this resort is very narrow and barely 2 cars can pass. Parking inside the resort is a bit of a problem as the cars need to be parked uphill and there is limited space for 5 cars (5 bookings). Overall, although there is not much to see in Wayanad but the experience in the resort was very nice.

It's situated around 8 Km far from the city and location is just awesome. You get nice view from your tent. Apart from different plantations which includes coffee, you get view of river and tea plantation. The only issue is bad road condition due to which it takes a while to reach there but when you reach there, you really don't want to go anywhere else. Staff is very helpful, specially Harish and caretaker Shaheen. They take special care of you even before you check in. You get very tasty and homely food as you want, what you want. Though you need to inform them so that they can arrange, in case they need to arrange stuff from city. Rooms and washrooms are spacious and perfectly clean. It gives you different experience of tent stay will all luxuries. You can hear birds from morning till evening. If you are a nature lover, you will like it. Last but not least, it's perfectly safe.

The staff led by vineeth, is very humble and helpful. They will always be on their tows to address any concerns questions you might have. Rooms are great, they are clean well maintained and offer valley view. The property is in close vicinity to tea gardens. Also some of the key tourist points (banasura dam, karlad lake, kalapuzha dam etc) are relatively close compared to other properties. Only disadvantage is you will have to rely on the resort for meals, which are usually fixed and not many options are available. The location is little remote and far off from the main market, hence getting out can be a challenge particularly when you are not travel-ling with your own vehicle.

Great food, great service. Had a good time. Peaceful location away from the city noise and pollution. The tent houses were a very unique concept. Would recommend it to all my friends and family. -This homestay is situated at Kalpetta waynad, it is located in the green scenery which gives a feel of being in jungle. -It has 5 luxury tented accommodation available with AC Facility. The tents are really nice, we did not find any trouble with it. Parking facility is available. - Food provided at the homestay is nice, you don't have a menu option to choose from. It is charged at 250 per head and is unlimited. Note - While travelling through forest area please don't park your vehcle its prohibitd!

I have never ever reviewed a Grassroots Wayanad | Valley-view Tents in my life, but this one deserves a special attention. A Grassroots Wayanad | Valley-view Tents of five cottages with lovely caretakers will provide you with everything you need auto, cabs, all meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) at affordable prices. I miss it from the moment I checked out of this gem and would kill to go back there.

Wonderful resort. We had a pleasant and peaceful stay there. The manager Mr Shaheer was very kind and helpful throughout our stay. The other staff were humble. We enjoyed the bonfire and the trip to the tea garden close by. Food was great. We really enjoyed the stay and highly recommend it to everyone. I am sure to visit it again.

Its living amidst nature with the absolute silence in the woods. The food and hospitality in the resort was great.

Except for insects and other harmless creatures that walk in and out of the tents the place is pristine with amazing view of a hill and loads of greenery. The staff was very friendly and helpful/resourceful with anything you wanted. Food is reasonably priced and yummy! The Kerala Parathas are to die for! Must visit!

Been here with my son. It's a safe place with very friendly staff. My son happened to fall sick when we checked in and the staff were cooperative to give food apt for him. The ambiance and stay has been beautiful. Don't forget to check the books at the dining area. Especially Astrix series.

Though it's quite inside from kalpetta, it's worth enough to experience a different kind of tent stay. Tent interior designs and the atmosphere was a pleasant and pure bliss to experience.

It's amazing how a tent stay could be so luxurious and yet to simple. Great staff and hospitality. The trail walk through the tea estate organized by the staff is a good way to spend time rather than visiting the touristy places. There is no menu as such but the staff prepare what you ask for. It's an amazing getaway.

Loved the place and the tent !!! Friendly staff, the rooms are spacious and clean they have a huge bathroom, food is just amazing.
